Update: on my final night in Vegas I decided to get my go to steak nachos, only this time, they forgot to add on everything except beans steak and cheese! I'm already gone. How do you forget everything? This location in the Excalibur was a god send after having way over priced burgers at the resturant by the Royal Tower the night before. Granted it's just a plain old Baja Fresh and was nothing special, but the food is what you expect and at the price that you can't really complain about. The staff was decently friendly, and you get what your order pretty quickly. I ordered the steak nachos with black beans and all the extras. The steak wasn't great, but it did make the whole thing more hearty. The nachos is what you would expect and sour cream and guacamole is included. They have a salsa bar on the side to get all the spices you need to enjoy your meal. I've already visit this location twice in the 4 days I've been in Las Vegas. I ordered the steak fajita plate and thought for the price (under $20) and for the taste (not to mention it comes with some tortilla chips which you have a selection of over 4 salsas you can pair with at the self-serve counter) this was an excellent meal! Late Saturday Night after an event that took place at the MGM. There weren't many options open or with food. Each place I visited had no food but we're still open! No I don't want to buy just biscuits! Are you serious!? Baja Fresh was open and the crew worked to get food out. Kudos to the team. Appreciate it! I didn't have a problem with my meal. In fact I bought two burritos and a kids meal with drinks. $50 seems like a lot but when nothing else around has food... I had to pick my poison. Sleep hungry or fill up and empty my wallet lol. I had two problems, which is why I docked them two stars... Kids meals were to come with apple slices but they subbed apple sauce and they don't have spoon! Either have my son try with a fork or use a straw so it isn't wasted and he gets some nutrients. Hmmm... The other problem was there were really no clean tables to eat at. Food was delicious! Service wasn't great. The restaurant is inside of the Excalibur casino/food court. I personally can't stand the smoke inside, especially eating, so I took it to go. I ordered the tostada with shrimp for meat choice. I was suspicious about it because it was only $13.50. So yummy!!! Everything tasted so fresh, which made me very happy because that's exactly what I wanted. And it's in the name, so it better be! The shrimp had a lot of flavor. The tostada came with choice of meat, choice of beans, romaine, guacamole, cheese, and pico. I got no pico or tomatoes, but they have a salsa bar! I got mango salsa, and a black one that I forgot the name of. It's a medium salsa and I'm pretty sure it's made with black beans. They also had cilantro at the salad bar which added even more depth and flavor. The service wasn't friendly, and there was a particular employee helping me who didn't take one second to acknowledge me. She did not look at me and she was talking to her co-worker the whole time. At least she listened to me when I said no pico or tomatoes tho then I asked her about salsa and she quickly said something I didn't understand. Then I asked the third employee what she said, and she pointed me to the salsa bar! They also didn't even have water cups, but I guess that's not the employees fault... This time he said it wasn't as good as usual. But it was still good. Just not amazing. I got chicken quesadillas and wasn't all that impressed. It tasted like a cheese quesadilla with a piece or two of chicken. And it was kind of soggy. I prefer my quesadillas with a little crunch on the outside. It wasn't bad, it just wasn't my favorite. Came here for a late lunch on a Monday (labor day). There was no wait, no line, and plenty of seating available. We ordered a steak and shrimp burrito, and a steak and shrimp quesadilla. The way they prepared the quesadilla was kind of strange... they grilled it with just the cheese then put the toppings (steak, shrimp, veggies) inside, which were cooked separately. Plus, it wasn't grilled well, still pretty soft. But I didn't mind cuz it tasted so good. The flavors/ seasoning of the steak and shrimp are so amazing at Baja Fresh. The reason I took off stars was the employee making our food either didn't understand English very well, or was a worker in training and not very bright. She seemed to be very lost when given very simple instructions. Also, they charge extra for every single addition, ie. I wanted veggies in my quesadilla so that was an added cost. Still love Baja Fresh (it really does taste fresh even when it's not), and it's great to have one at Excalibur. read more

More like Baja Not-So Fresh. Don't waste your time and money here. I was excited to see a Baja Fresh nearby as we used to have an amazing one near us in FL and it closed. So we walked down to the Excaliber to this location. Upon entering the line my fiancé and I both noticed three huge overfilled containers of precooked and uncovered grilled chicken just sitting behind the workers. It was horrifying so of course we decided to get something other than chicken. He ordered the steak burrito and i opted for the wahoo tacos because I knew most likely that required cooking, which it did. The workers were the absolute rudest trio I have ever encountered. The one taking orders would ask my fiancé what he wanted and then turn her head and look off at something else. By the time we were through the line we both had given our orders THREE times each!! When we were checking out I asked the lady if we could have fresh chips because she put all the broken chips in our bag and instead of saying "sure" she said "It's the same thing" and refused. No it is not the same...half the chips were crushed into pieces. The salsa bar was closed. I had to ask her twice for salsa. And of course they had no mango salsa. The food was not great either. It was bland and mostly unedible. My wahoo tacos had 3 small pieces of fish in them each...hence all the cheese to cover it. Overall horrendous experience. Keep walking to better options...too much good food nearby to waste on terrible customer service and mediocre food. read more

The food was so good the first time we had dinner here the night before, we're back for a late night snack since we haven't eaten since brunch. Last night we had a baja salad with steak, baja salad with carnitas, a americano style taco with carnitas, and grilled shrimp taco on corn tortilla. The steak was a bit dry, the carnitas was juicy and flavorful, and the shrimp was awesome. The pico de gallo on the salad was outstanding. The free chips that came with each taco was flavorless. It should have came with a very small salsa for dipping. The tables are socially distanced but no one has time to clean them. They should at least have a tub of wipes for the patrons to do themselves. I had to ask for napkins then use the hand sanitizer from the stand to clean our table. A Baja Fresh in a casino? Is this heaven? I was tired from a long day at a trade show and a harrowing shuttle bus ride in very heavy traffic. I had to kill some time at the Excalibur before my next ride to the airport and I was very hungry. I started to wander about. Around a corner there it sat, an oasis truly in a vast desert. Baja Fresh! Like a tractor beam in a Star Trek episode of grabbed me and pulled me in. I was helpless, resistance was futile. Ordered two Baja style tacos and a drink cup, made myself an Arnold Palmer and hit the salsa bar. There is something about people watching in Las Vegas, it's a neverending entertainment stream. I needed a high-protein meal with no carbs. So, I tried this establishment. I ordered a Chicken Fajita plate with Queso on the side. While the chicken lacked flavor it was still moist and everything else was phenomenal. The portion size is huge. I asked to have smaller portions scooped. The beans were delicate and fully seasoned. The grilled veggies also had a robust flavor and a great bite that wasn't soggy or slimy. I didn't eat the rice nor get tortillas but the chips and queso were delicious. It's very comparable to Moe's or Qdoba but the sauces were amazing. Y'all know I love a good sauce. The sauces were robust. I wish I took a picture. I have not been to a BF in probably ten years. I came to the one located inside Excalibur casino so not sure I tagged the correct address? We wanted something quick and tasty that was not greasy. It is somewhat Chipotle style ordering where you go down the counter to add your ingredients. I ordered the special steak and shrimp burrito while hubs ordered the steak quesadilla. We were so hungry we added the steak nachos to share. Boy that was a LOT of food! Everything was fresh and tasty. I especially liked that they melted real cheese on the nachos and that it wasn't cheese sauce. There is also a salsa bar. The people working here were also very nice and pleasant. Average price will be about $10 pp so not bad for Vegas standards. We enjoyed our meal so much we had to look up the one nearest home. read more

This is the only remaining Baja Fresh restaurant in Las Vegas, after all the rest of them suddenly shut down, but this was disclosed to me as I was making my purchase through Smiths @ Buffalo/Flamingo; which really ticked me off, because gift cards are not returnable, Smiths policy (WHY do grocery stores still sell gift cards to stores or restaurants when they no longer exist here?) When I told my husband about this, he called this location to see if they take these gift cards, the male voice on the line said that they do not take coupons (**why is the website still sending me coupons that I can't use anyway?!**) but they do accept gift cards (my husband did not get a name). I wanted to use the gift card before this one would be in danger of losing up shop too. We local residents only have one hour for free parking, just scan your ID. The restaurant is located next to Dick's Last Resort restaurant. It is a big location (lots of seating). The menu is on the wall at the ordering side. This one has breakfast items and is open 24 hours/ 7 days a week. Order on the left side. You can see the food being prepared and cooked. Pay at the counter. Get your drinks on the right side, alongside the napkins, forks, etc. and salsa bar- my fave is the mango salsa (my husband said it was wrecked, so this area needs attention). The rest of the restaurant was clean and I did notice the workers cleaning off the tables that were used. We could not use the gift card. The lady at the counter said that it was a difference franchise and they do not accept gift cards. She did give us a 20% discount though (it was nice of her to do that, hence the 4 star rating). My husband did tell her that he'd checked by calling ahead and spoke with a man, but didn't get his name. I got the carnitas fajitas (a good size- choice of beans, choice of corn or flour tortillas, rice, onions & peppers, options were: cheese, sour cream, and guacamole, and came with chips) to share with our son, and hubby got a carnitas burrito. Ours was good, but the meat was cold (it was on top), while hubby's was contained in a burrito, but he did enjoy it. And so did our son (he loves meat, Mexican food, and Asian food). There were 3 or 4 employees working here, I don't quite remember if we got a greeting, but their demeanor seemed to be that they were there, working, but really didn't enjoy dealing with customers one on one- no smiles, no enthusiasm. They make it almost impossible to be reached which is another reason many are not able to report illnesses of this capacity to the establishment. Spoke to the owner of this location only to be insulted and accused of lying. Reports were made with the hotel to record the incident. I have NEVER been insulted by a representative of a company. As much as I love the food, this is a plea to corporate HQ. Please train these employees! There was a line out the door because we were all fans of the brand AND we waited for our food because we know it's great. The set up order line has one person taking verbal orders who starts the food prep, another person 1 foot away plating and ANOTHER person ringing the order another foot away (who didn't hear the order) asking the guest for the second time, what they ordered. Oh, and I forgot to mention server #2 and #3 don't like #1 and are talking about her "behind her back" right next to her?!? They need to work on their customer service, me and my girlfriend decided to have Baja Fresh for dinner and the first guy who takes the order totally ignored me after he took my girlfriends order, he turned his back on me and I was standing there for about 5 minutes before I called him and he was extremely rude and very unprofessional, I asked to speak to the manager and it took the manager at least 10 minutes to come out and talk to me and when I asked for the district number to file a complaint he told me to go online and walked away from me.
