Sometimes you'll be in luck and there will be that dress or top in size 8, but other times they'll be loads of styles you like but nothing in your size which can be frustrating. Nevertheless, for bargain underwear, socks, vests and tee's you can't really go wrong. You can easily walk out with a huge bag of shopping and not have paid more than £30. It can get particularly busy at the weekend, and sometimes you question whether it's worth queuing for those £2 socks..

My baby was crying so I was holding the baby and trying to calm him down. I was standing in the queue for 10 minutes because just one person was working at the checkout . I have prepared £5 ahead. They wanted me to spend more time with a crying baby because they couldn't sell me a comforter for cash without the email. I left the shop totally disappointed without the comforter. No more shopping in Matalan.

I know that might sound a little odd, and I don't mean that it was empty, but there was nothing worth even looking at, no less purchasing. That said I wouldn't not go in another branch, but one, this particular shops was a mess and two, it was not forthcoming in the children's school shirts department for which, we visited in there in the first place! My intention is not to put anybody off all Matalans, as it's not a bad place for basic essentials like cheap hosiery, however be sure to only pop into this one if you have exhausted all other resources.

There is a great section down stairs that has shoes for the food industry that are pretty good, one of the best brands are shoes for crews. I've ordered online and received my order the next day, never had an issue, so far.
