Lifts and stairs to all platforms, well signposted and a decent number of ticket machines. Also worth nothing is the number and variety of shops here. I was stuck here over lunchtime and it was no hassle. There's some street food outside and a bakery both inside the station and just outside it on the side towards the river.

My very first train station so I didn't know exactly what to expect. The Information desk employees…read morewere slightly rude but they did direct us to which train we needed. The ticket office employees were much nicer and quite a bit more helpful. Every door in the station is open so it's quite a bit chilly and you have to pay 1€ to use the restroom. There are quite a few cafés to choose from if you need to wait.

The primary train station in the region is a few minutes away in Rostock. Then it is just a simple…read morelocal train ride to reach the beach town and port city of Warnemünde. This train station is the end of line, so no worries about overshooting. There were a mix of express trains and local lines between the two cities and the trains were modern and ran on time. The train station is within easy walking distance of the Cruise Center, beach and promenade with bars, restaurants and shops. In the heat of summer, it was downright idyllic. Every time we passed by, there would be some form of musical entertainment in the walkway leaving the station. There weren't a lot of ticket agents about, but there were usually police officers who were able to answer our basic transportation questions. Also, very few shops at this location. Many more options at Rostock and that is where we stocked up on food and drink items for the longer train ride into Berlin.

Three staff on duty trying to help, but we ended up with one who spoke no English and looked like she had an electric shock when we asked for a Mecklenburg Lander ticket. Train then proceeded to stick around well after the departure time and we missed the connection in Rostock. Not a good start to the day. But the station was clean and tidy, well located and no stairs for no real reason.
