I'm pretty easy going when it comes to my demands of a train station: indoor space to stay warm/dry, functioning ticket machines, clear signage, ease of getting around, and preferably covered platforms.
Husum's main train station covers all of those quite nicely. As an added bonus, it also has an attached cafe with outdoor seating, a bike repair shop (with what looked like self-service options) and a small store covering all of your basic needs. It's centrally located but still offset enough from the main highways to be peaceful and quiet. On an April Saturday at noon, foot traffic was light enough to make navigation with a bike trivial.
While it's certainly not the most architecturally impressive building, it does have an old charm to it that you don't always see at every station. Bahnhof Husum, you're solid in my book. read more
