I'm sharing this because I believe customers should know what can happen behind the scenes of a business they choose to support. I was scheduled only 2-3 days a week for about 4-5 hours per shift. Much of my training consisted of tests through an app that I only had the opportunity to complete a few times. I was ultimately let go because I hadn't learned the difference between UVA and UVB rays quickly enough. I understand the importance of knowing the information required for the job, but I don't feel I was given enough opportunity to practice, review, or improve before being judged on how quickly I learned it. I was putting effort into my job, showing up for my shifts and completing the work I was asked to do, including cleaning the tanning beds and other physical duties. I was also upfront that I personally did not want to use UV tanning beds and preferred spray tanning and red-light therapy. I can't say whether that influenced my termination, but it did make me question whether I was given a fair opportunity. What bothered me most was the lack of consideration and professionalism. My father had just been diagnosed with kidney cancer, and management knew because I was crying at work after finding out and spoke with one of the managers. I still stayed and finished my shift that day. Despite knowing what I was dealing with, I never felt anyone checked in or considered whether something outside of work was affecting me. I was ultimately let go while my father was undergoing surgery to remove his cancerous kidney, and I was terminated in the front of the store in front of other employees rather than being spoken to privately. I found the way this was handled extremely embarrassing and unprofessional. I'm not reviewing this because I want my job back or disagree with businesses having standards. I'm reviewing it because how a business treats its employees matters, and customers deserve to know what is happening behind the scenes of the businesses they support. For a business that has been around for years, I expected a much higher level of professionalism, communication, training, and respect toward employees. Unfortunately, that was not my experience.

All the beds and stand ups are cleaned after each use, along with each room. The bulbs are changed frequently. A lot of customers use this salon and at times it gets pretty busy but the wait is pretty short since theres so many rooms! Chili Peppers offers various sales several times a month (BOGO and 1/2 off!) Good for packages, visits, eyewear and lotion. The prices aren't very high to me, especially when there is sales. Also, sign up for the Eclub to get email notifications of sales and specials. What I really love is the staff always makes you welcome by greeting you when you enter and exit the salon. I gave it a try for a month, thinking the tanning beds might be a higher quality than the ones at the gym, but I honestly didn't see a difference in that regard. Also, I hate to say it, but the facility itself is not very clean. Maybe they clean the beds, but they may not have a vacuum, based on the amount of gunk in the carpet. And if you need to use the restroom while you're there, it's basically the employee restroom, filled with supplies and extra bulbs, just not very welcoming for a customer. Even if you're not planning on working out at all, I definitely would recommend looking at gyms in the area for your tanning needs.
