Despite its busyness during the day, Bagels Etc. works like a well oiled machine with its efficiency to get customers their food quickly. I just ordered a generic sausage, egg and cheese sandwich with an orange juice, paid $8 flat (important to note that it is cash only), and got my food within just a couple minutes. It was a solid breakfast on the go and great value for the price.

#1. Scrambled Egg Bagel with Meat

Absolutely loved this place. If i could take it home to LA in my pocket I would. Two of us all got the Scrambled Egg Bagel Sandwich with Sausage and one got it with Bacon. Hands down the sausage is better, go with that. Two were on Everything Bagel and one was with Wheat Everything Bagel. Highly recommend the wheat everything bagel instead. It is somehow more flavorful and the chew of the bagel goes very well with the sandwich fillings. This combo also comes with a coffee or orange juice. You have a choice of like 5 different types of coffees, self serve and as far as I know you can also refill if you'd like. Cash only, mostly carry out establishment. Crowded on Sundays But service is very quick. You barely have to wait. Seating is limited but most people are there to pick up sandwiches and coffee to go anyway.

Honestly one of the best bagels I've had in DC thus far! Quick and chaotic service, loved it.

Bagels Etc. is a hidden gem in Dupont Circle. This no-frills spot might be the closest thing to a slightly grungy NYC bagel shop you'll find in DC (and that's how you know it's good). The bagels are excellent--fresh, with a crisp exterior and chewy interior. The line can get long, but don't let that deter you--it moves fast. Important to note: it's CASH ONLY, though there's an ATM inside. Go for a classic BEC, or try my favorite: the Cucumber Cooler with scallion cream cheese, cucumber, and sprouts.

In and out in a jiffy. Food was quick to be handed over the counter Dozen variety of bagels. Several coffees to choose from. Lunches served also. They open at 6 am. They know their regular customers.

The Awesome - Good prices, many menu choices, excellent coffee, great bagels! The Challenging - Long lines, limited seating, tiny space, order inaccuracies, some questionable hygiene practices. Tips - Checkout the menu before you go, tons of choices and they are inpatient.

By far the best bagel you will find in the district. Perfect fluffiness, airiness, and crispness to the outside. Also, incredibly priced! I've been here a few times now and the bagels have stayed consistent, which is hard to find. Though the line can get quite long, the service is VERY quick. Definitely the closest thing we have to a NYC bagel. Something I recently discovered is that they have additional seating in the back, but beware the place can feel quite tiny with the amount of people crammed into it to order. I highly suggest knowing what you want to order prior to stepping up to the counter -- will help the whole process go so much smoother. Lastly, remember it's cash only!!

Finding a cheap eat in DC is no easy thing. I love a good breakfast bagel but dislike some bagel shop prices. Bagels Etc though is an exception to the expensive DC food. Got two bagels, one with egg cheese and meat and the other with cream cheese, for a total under 10 dollars. Both were very good! Had a good amount of egg to bacon ratio and the bagels are really delicious. Bagels are a decent size too- if you're STARVING you may need to order more than one but for a midday meal this hit the spot. It can get busy but bagels still come out pretty fast and the lady working at the register was super nice. IMPORTANT: this is cash only.

The space is gorgeous; I love all the plants, and the light brown, light blue, and white color combination for their furniture makes the space look classy and modern. The light brown leather couches are comfortable, and I love the way they circle around the tables to create a natural, cozy booth. Our food was just as beautiful as the space. The Restaurant Week menu comes with an appetizer, main, and dessert. Given how indecisive I can be (and how expansive the normal menu is), I was grateful to have my choices narrowed down a bit. I started off my meal with the octopus. The octopus was remarkably tender and not overly chewy, and had a delightful char that gave it a slightly smoky flavor. They double downed on the smokiness with their burnt chili oil, which, alongside the lemon and salsa verde, gave the dish a wonderfully balanced smoky, savory, and slightly acidic flavor. The crushed potatoes had a lovely crispy shell on the outside and served as a great base for the tender octopus. The main course was probably the easiest choice of the evening -- I'm absolutely obsessed with branzino, so the second I saw it on the Restaurant Week menu, I knew that was what I had to get. The fish is beautifully broiled, with a nice, crispy skin and super tender, flaky flesh. It's topped with a few pieces of roasted garlic and a wedge of lemon. The fresh lemon juice, as well as the lovely side salad, offered a great pop of freshness to bring the whole dish together. And finally, for our dessert, I chose the chocolate torta. This wonderful dessert is remarkably rich and decadent, with a strong dark chocolate flavor. It's topped with a lovely marsala date sauce and scoop of sheep's yogurt ice cream, but still doesn't feel overly sweet. The sheep's yogurt in the ice cream offers a bit of tanginess, and I loved the addition of the candied walnuts for a bit of crunch.

A five-minute walk towards downtown from the Mayflower hotel made Tatte Bakery an ideal spot for breakfast. It also has nice views of Farragut Square. I went with the House Full breakfast that included Applewood bacon, eggs, potato fritters with tomato jam and mint parmasean, and house made sourdough. I was curious to try one of their best sellers - monkey bread, and it didn't disapoint. A solid breakfast with on point service before catching the metro to Virginia. I really enjoyed my visit here and would return in a heartbeat.
