Although the appetizing is quite good, the service is severely lacking and the prices are very high. A couple of weeks ago my wife picked up for me poached salmon salad on a bagel and was charged $16.99! She was asked if she wanted a side salad and she said "no, only the bagel". I found out later that the bagel sandwiches come with a side salad but the server never mentioned this fact to my wife who thought it would cost extra for the salad. In addition, if she had the store coupon, it would have cost $12.99 with a side salad AND a 12 oz coffee! Last week she had the coupon for the $12.99 special and got me tuna on a bagel with the salad and coffee. The server didn't honor the coupon as the coupon was for nova, whitefish salad, salmon salad or sable. As tuna salad is way less expensive than the other listed fish you would've thought that they would've been delighted to honor the coupon for the selection that gave them a higher profit margin! Today my wife went in with the coupon, ordered whitefish salad with Israeli salad and coffee and was charged the correct price. i was very disappointed on my first and second online order at bagel boss Hewlett. order 1 had 4 mistakes of 8 items ordered order 2 had 3 mistakes out of 11 things ordered. when i picked up my 2nd order i ask counter person if all was as i ordered, i was told yes. when i came home very disappointed to see wrong salad sent wrong cheese used in my grilled cheese sandwich. for the prices they charge at least they can get order right read more

Very big plenty of sitting inside and out.. very expensive but I think that might be our new reality..definitely a nice mix of bagel's cream cheeses and tuna.. well know for their ice coffee .. great place to take ur kids b4 the beach with their mini rainbow bagels every one is always happy!!..great pastries as well!!.. certain times like lunch are very very busy but if u can go a little earlier or later than you will be fine.. only tip would be to take extra salt n pepper and ketchup packets if it's on the go bec the eggs need a little more flavor at times! read more

Visit Date: April 9, 2014 I've had bagel boss before but haven't had an opportunity to review them. My job's former director bought bagel boss in for the staff . I ate one bagel, two pieces of cinnamon bun, 3 jelly cookies with chocolate and sprinkles on them, and 3 cups of coffee throughout the whole day. The bagels were delicious, I would say bagel boss has the best bagels of Hewlett, sadly the other bagel stores I've tried failed to offer anything even close to a good bagel. The cream cheese was very good too. The sweets were delicious, the cookies had just enough Jelly, chocolate coating and sprinkles and the cinnamon roll was delicious despite the fact that it didn't seem all too fluffy. The coffee was better than I thought it was and I was really happy to have the coffee around because I didn't get a chance to go out on lunch and grab some coffee! Good to realize if I'm craving a bagel and I actually want to drive on my lunch break or leave myself extra time to get to work I can come here and grab a good one! read more

Don't go in here looking for meat of any kind. It is strictly dairy, so remember to hold the "can I have a turkey on a bagel?"comment for another bagel place- unless you want stares or whispers to follow. With that being said, their tuna spread is delicious, even the lower fat tuna options. Their bagels are okay, not fantastic but just okay. But, I'm spoiled since I have had decades of bagels from Brooklyn and there is a BIG difference. So maybe if I never had a Brooklyn bagel I would think these bagels were amazing, but since I have tasted the other side of bagels, I guess I can call myself a bagel snob? read more

This is one of my favorite places in the Five Towns, but I'm taking it off my list while this pandemic rages. I was there this morning and was very uneasy to be in such close physical contact with the other customers in giving my order and, in particular, at the cash register where a few of us were practically huddled together, despite a sign stipulating social distancing!! Everyone was wearing a mask, but that doesn't matter. I stood back at the register, but was told to come forth and present my credit card. "I'm trying to socially distance!" I exclaimed. No response. Definitely do not come here if you're in a rush. I realized that it's not that the line is always too long. They have literally 6 or more workers behind the counter taking orders. However, they take extremely long for each order. Each worker seems to slowly walk to and from the register, making conversations with co-workers while they complete the orders with no sense of rush. It took more than 5 minutes to get 2 plain bagels with cream cheese(not toasted) and that was after a 10 minute wait to order. That, together with the surprisingly expensive price(the above mentioned order was $8), are reminders that I could go elsewhere for bagels. read more

Bagel boss has gone through a lot of changes in the last few years. They have great bagels. They also have delicious salads of all kinds. Some yummy dairy warm dishes. Their fresh squeezed juices and smoothies are wonderful. The guys and gals behind the counter are nice and helpful. They also have hot breakfast choices. Everything here is good. However, I've got questions about their level of kashrut. They are open on Saturdays, which of itself is problematic. If you want a great bagel, they e got those in spades! read more

I love bagel boss. I always have. My family goes there quite often, and I've always referred to it as "the fancy bagel store" because of all the varying choices and nice ambiance. My brother is celiac and loves that he can get an Udi's gluten free bagel! Never a bad experience... Until today. I came with my brother for a late lunch, we ordered and sat down to eat. Everything was fine! I decided I only wanted half my bagel and I needed a paper bag to take the other half to go. I went up to the counter and said with a smile "hey! Can I have a paper bag?" Totally chill and jolly. The man who I asked, who is usually a pleasure, said "what's with it these days with you young people now saying please? No please, no thank you, no nothing!" And he scoffed. I was quite taken aback, speechless, and took the bag and went to sit back down. I looked back at the counter and he was giving me a disgusted look, meanwhile I was so confused. It wasn't our 1st time to have breakfast at Bagel Boss in Hewlett. We like the food and ambiance inside the restaurant. However, today I was totally disgusted and will never go back there! I and my husband wanted fresh bagels and coffee for breakfast but my 7-yr old son wanted pancakes and sausage at Mc Donald. We had a discussion where to have breakfast until we got a solution. We decided to buy him what he wants at Mc Donald and go to Bagel boss for breakfast together. I wasn't aware and nothing was posted outside the store that they were kosher. When we were sitted, one of the staffs approached us and asked us to eat outside the restaurant. He sid they are Kosher. I said "OK" because I respect that. But when I saw how disorganized, looked dirty the tables were, a woman sitted smoking and there were no enough chairs, I totally lost my appetite to eat. Plus there was construction going on so it was very loud! I was totally disgusted! I wind up sharing with my son's breakfast and didn't touch my bagel at all! Good bagels but I will never come here again. They had a million Hanukkah decorations and not ONE Christmas decoration. I understand most customers are jewish, but regardless ive never seen a business without both decorations. The people that go there are so rude and obnoxious. The service of BagelOfTheMonth Club where bagels are sent through Federal Express shortly after being made at Bagel Boss in Hewlett is the best idea since the invention of bagels. I recently sent my daughter a baker's dozen bagels from this creative business to California, and she was absolutely thrilled with the freshness and taste while I was very happy with the customer service. Alex is very much a joy to work with. I can't wait to send my girl a package from BagelOfTheMonth again in the near future. However, the next time I will be sending her the entire spread to include nova and cream cheese. Five stars does not do this justice. One of the best bagel places around. This is the must go to if you are going for bagels in the Hewett, NY area. With adequate parking and loads of options for your meal, dessert and drink you can't go wrong here. They have one of the best jalapeno cream cheeses I have ever had and their onion bagels are just perfectly cooked and tasting. Unlike other places that always seem to get the formula wrong, for some reason the bagels are are just the perfect consistency of flavor and size. Any one who visits the area I always take them here and they think before going there "Its just a bagel place. Big deal." of course after taking them there once they can't wait to go back every time they visit after that. The downsides to the place, are as everyone has mentioned. The long lines. The service is slow and the help there seem to take their sweet time to help the customers. They have enough help they just have the slowest help which doesn't help things in the slightest. So going there on an off peak time is the best as you never have to wait during those periods. And they are a bit pricey too. Without a coupon you will be paying a bit too much for just a bagel with a side salad and drink. All taste great but if you are on a budget you probably can't eat here often. Its quite a place when you walk in. Fridges full of drinks and cream cheese options. Salads and pizza bagels on the middle displays already packaged and ready to be purchased for use in your home. Coffee choices and various tables. And then as you wait on line there are rows of dessert options all looking freshly made and appealing. Various cream cheese flavors and rows of bagels behind the counter to choose from. Its a great place and every Bagel Boss seems to be unique and different from the other. This one is probably my favorite of all the Bagel Boss locations on the Island I have been to. Well I guess I should of read the reviews before coming here. I work in the area and this place was suggested to me because I wanted a bagel. Before coming in I stopped at the Starbucks (in the same strip center) and got a coffee. Then I walked right on over to bagel boss to get my bagel and a muffin. There's a coffee bar in the middle of the store, so after I placed my order, I helped myself to 4 Splendas, I opened my lid of my Starbucks coffee, added the Splendas and threw the wrappers in the garbage. Then while waiting, a man approaches me and identified himself as the "store manager" and says "someone told me that you used creamer in your coffee" so I replied with saying "no, I took 4 Splendas." He then says "oh ok because we don't allow anything to be used for outside food." Lucky for him, I was in a good mood. I paid for my order and left. This deserves a negative star. This has been the worst experience ever!! The old man that took my order was racist and did not even let me finish my order when he disappeared mid sentence. I was just standing there and even another staff member asked to take my order. I was so confused and said that man was helping us. He did not make any attempts to come back then suddenly he came to the register and gestured for us to pay. He didn't toast my half my order because he failed to allow me to finish my sentence when he disappeared. He then proceeded to say that our toaster is broken. Which was a lie since the man next to me (white individual) order a bagel toasted and they said that was fine. I asked him how long would it take to be fixed he said an hour. He then said you never said toasted. I was so upset because he was clearly being dismissive and racist. He then got mad and said are you going to take this? I normally would because I don't like to get others in trouble but he made me feel that my business meant nothing to him. I said no and walked out. This place is horrible and the service has been something I would never recommend anyone to experience. This place needs to do better! we have used this location since it opened. but recently without our noticing an additional charge for using our credit has been added to the bill. while they have a legal right to do this we find the practice so distasteful we consider driving a bit further for our weekly needs. we understand that they pay charge companies a percent of the total but that is the cost of doing business, just as electric , and salaries, and gas etc. this is bad form read more

This happened in Saturday, July 25th at 9:45am. The wait first of all is forever, but that's the least of the problems at this dump. I ordered 2 egg white wraps. The sign specifically says ALL wraps come with hot or iced coffee. I go to pay and then the guy forgets to give me the coffee. I mentioned the coffee and he goes to make it. I take it and I'm ready to walk away and he says" I still need to charge you for that." I said the sign says that all wraps come with iced or hot coffee. He said it's only hot. A black younger girl working there decides to intervene and is about to take the iced coffee and throw it out. I said, "So you're just going to throw it out?" She said well it's only $1.75 for the 2 coffees." I said, that's not the point, the sign specifically says the wrap comes with iced coffee. This rude girl working there wasn't willing to budge and just went to throw it out. They gave me a small hot coffee instead for free. Those incompetent workers literally threw out 2 iced coffees and wouldn't budge, even though the sign says free iced or hot coffee. The staff is also super rude and stupid. I would never step foot in here again with this awful customer service. Oh, and the food tastes like crap and is very overpriced. They also add a 3.85% charge for using your credit and they do NOT tell you about it, they just add it on. Everything that can go wrong with a place does here. They had customers all next time each other at the register. They ignore social distance rules. I usually don't like to give only one star but in this case I have too ! My husband and I went to Bagel Boss (Hewlett) on January 5,2021 about 2:30 A.M. I had a craving for an everything bagel w/ veggie cream cheese. Nevertheless we ended up spending $50 (we bought a soup,my husband had a bagel w/ veggie cream cheese as well, two addition bagels with no shmear, whitefish salad,imitation crab salad and a large coffee). The lady that was working the overnight shift had an attitude like she didn't want to work. She asked if I needed forks. I responded yes please. I noticed that she didn't have gloves on. I told her that I now didn't want the forks because she didn't have gloves on. I wonder now if she had gloves on when she was preparing my bagel with the cream cheese! At least she had a mask on. I doubt it I will ever walk into this establishment again. If I do it will be during the day (Hicksville has a Bagel Boss that is also 24 hours). read more

The bagels aren't good enough for the attitude of the employees. Let me start off by saying I was not aware this place was kosher and don't recall seeing a sign so i asked for bacon and obviously because they're kosher they don't have bacon but what I can't understand is why I was given such an attitude. So the guy that works there is like "umm we don't have bacon" (with an attitude) like ok my bad relax and I was like "ohh ok sorry I didn't know" and he's like "well we're kosher soo... and every bagel boss is" (again with an attitude) and I was like "ok so then just cream cheese" but here's my thing. EVERY BAGEL BOSS ISN'T KOSHER!! I go to the one closer to my house all the time and get bacon egg and cheeses and they're not kosher. So first off all drop the attitude. Secondly, get your facts straight. And lastly don't be offended that not everyone in the world is kosher and some of us like bacon. All you HAD to say was "oh were actually kosher and don't serve bacon" (without an attitude) anyway I'm just gonna go somewhere else when I'm in this area and want bagels bc i don't like being given an attitude for no reason.
