Black hair in the middle of my wrap - Meat, 2 Eggs, Cheese
    Rach C.

Officially, I'm never going back. I've been going to Bagel Basket for YEARS out of convenience. Today, however, sealed the deal. I paid $30 for a breakfast wrap & a turkey hero for my long work day on the 4th of July. I get back in the truck to head to work. I begin to eat my breakfast wrap, and something gets stuck in my teeth, but then I bite through it. I open up the wrap, and there's a long black hair. I'm very grossed out because I have blonde hair. I'm posting a photo of my wrap as well as my hair. Make your own opinion.

Not a bad little shop on the inside. Has a good seating area as well. The bagel and cream cheese was good as well. The one concern I had here was all the flies in the cabinets. They did wrap the food in there, but it was a bit much for me.

    Turkey, cheese, lettuce and mayo

My colleagues and I order lunch from here once a week. We've been doing so for years. This past week we've notice that all sandwiches and wraps had barely any meat or salad on them. This has never been the case. I then went once more a few days later and ordered a turkey, American cheese, lettuce and Mayo on a roll. They charged me almost $12 and when I opened it there was barely any meat. I am so completely disappointed. The bagel basket seems to be cutting corners where it counts. I over heard another customer send there sandwich back as well to add more. I will not be ordering from here anymore. This was my sandwich. More lettuce than anything.

Ordered a toasted bagel with lox and cream cheese. I got a bagel that's burnt and hard to eat. Make sure you guys check your bagels before leaving. My morning was ruined.

It is the 1st time eating in this bagel store. The food is amazing, the bagles are fresh and fluffy and the eggs were AMAZING! Also I appreciate the fact that this store is eco friendly and uses paper cups and they actually are really nice looking! Also the coffee is pretty darn good

That describes the last time I was at Nappi's Nook, over two years ago. Flash forward to this morning and we're looking at an update that shows a much different experience this time around. You see that first time at Nappi's was not long after they had opened. Kinks were definitely still being worked out and at the time, I just couldn't see it as a place worth choosing over other breakfast spots. But seeing reviews, awards, and that the place was still standing years later led my wife and I to come check them out again. This second time around we snagged a table (they definitely get crowded quickly) and had some very friendly service from our waitress. Things started with their Nappicinos which were a huge misfire that first time, but a definite improvement today. My wife got the Biscoff variety while I got the Peanut butter cup and boy were they tasty. A good balance of coffee and sweet flavors. Now when it came to food, last time I went with chicken and waffles which (from pics) still seemed like something I might enjoy more elsewhere and so instead, I landed on The Stove Top Skillet. This was a combo of onions, peppers, potatoes, sausage, cheese, and over easy eggs. It came out piping hot and it was honestly impressive in how it tasted. I liked the thinly sliced sausage coins and although the pepper pieces were a little massive, they were soft enough with everything mixing together nicely. As for the wife, she went with a special in the form of the hash omelette which was exactly as it sounded with Swiss cheese and paprika hollandaise sauce on top along with breakfast potatoes on the side. I tried it and it was pretty tasty as well. One last item we chose to order was a single beignet for $2.50 as a side option. Sometimes we're just not feeling a full sweet breakfast, but this little fried ball filled with chocolate did the trick. Was it comparable to Cafe Du Monde? No way, but it was still quality. Honestly, the whole meal was quality and definitely several steps up from that first round a few years back. The only true gripe I can give is the soundtrack to Nappi's. The music, a touch louder than one might think at 9 in the morning, was a little too trance/dance/club for the vibe of breakfast. Maybe on a Sunday for a boozy brunch, but perhaps some music changes would create a little more of a "Nook" feel. Perhaps? Overall though, I'm really very impressed and glad to have given Nappi's Nook a second shot. It may have taken some time for that to happen, but it showed that this place was the real deal because it was still around, and winning Best of LI awards in the meantime. Perhaps a place to get to on the earlier side, but for sure a location I know I will be returning to for round three much sooner than expected.

There were toddlers and preschoolers in the restaurant with their families, so I asked the waitress to please change the channel. She looked at me like I was crazy and told me that she didn't understand what my problem was. I explained that there were graphic photos of people and crime scenes that aren't suitable for children, or really anyone else trying to enjoy their meal. That issue non-withstanding, I still don't think Over Easy is worth choosing over Hatch or Munday's. The wait for us was 20 minutes, which is the same for pretty much every other place in Huntington. It's also very small, so as a result the tables are extremely close together. We were seated in the middle of the floor, with waitstaff passing through very frequently on both sides. We had to constantly tuck ourselves in and watch our backs to avoid getting an elbow in the face. Our food tasted alright, but there were several issues. We both got variations of eggs benedict. I got the avocado BLT benedict, with avocado, tomato, arugula, bacon, and hollandaise on top of ciabatta. It tastes good, and I especially liked how orange and healthy the poached egg yolk was. However the ciabatta was pretty badly burnt. My boyfriend got the "classic" eggs benedict, which was served over toasted sourdough bread. This bread was ridiculous, over an inch thick and impossible to cut through without shaking the table and making a crummy mess. I would've thought the classic eggs benedict would be eggs with Canadian bacon over an English muffin; this one was just not the best.

I ordered a burger and fries, and it was fantastic. The ambiance, aroma, and service were exceptional. Last week, we decided to return since our previous experiences had been wonderful. Upon entering the restaurant, we observed it was not very crowded, with only 3-4 tables occupied. We learned it was under new management, as the owner had sold the establishment. I ordered my favorite, a raw burger and fries, while my son chose a fruit salad that included bananas and berries. There was just one waitress who eventually took our order. The food arrived, but my burger was fully cooked instead of raw, and the buns were burnt in some spots. My son's dish came out missing the bananas. We pointed this out to the waitress, who went back to the kitchen and returned to inform us that they didn't have any bananas but could offer plantains (fried bananas) with honey as a substitute. It was banana-like, but not the usual banana. I let the waitress know that my burger was not prepared correctly. The restaurant manager noticed and approached our table, asking, "What seems to be the issue with the burger?" I explained that it was fully cooked and the buns were burnt. The owner then asked if I would like another burger, to which I replied, "Yes." While I waited for my burger, my son realized there was no sugar on the table for his drink. He spotted some sugar by the counter, just a few steps away, and went to get it. The manager/owner asked him, "What are you doing?" My son explained that there was no sugar. The manager instructed him to return to the table, assuring him that the waitress would bring it over. My son came back empty-handed. We requested sugar from the waitress, but he continued to wait. While the kids finished their meals, my burger still hadn't arrived. Eventually, my burger came, but the sugar never did. When it was time to settle the bill, we realized we were charged for a burger that was improperly cooked and burnt. I crossed out that burger entry and decided not to leave a tip for the waitress. The service was terrible, and the food was mediocre. I made a note on the bill indicating that one burger should not be charged. I even took a picture of it for my credit card in case the restaurant tried to pull a fast one. Days later, I came across a review that mirrored my own experiences. There was a rude manager and cook, an unskilled waitress and cook, and the table was not properly maintained. The phrase 'under new management' seems to equate to poor service.
