I happily went and was thrilled that it was being staged again here recently, at the indoor theater inside the newly renovated, gorgeous Johnson County Heritage Center, which by itself is a must-do in KC. I was a bit nervous because the actors/singers in this version were all teenagers, not professionals. But oh my goodness I should not have been worried- they were INCREDIBLE!!! The show is a master class in beautiful 1950's style 4-part harmony, and these young men were so impressive. Definitely one of the best versions of the show that I've seen!! I went on the last day of the run, and I wish I'd gone earlier so I could've seen it again. This was my first time seeing a show at this venue, but I'll definitely be back for more. The theater is small, about the size of KC Musical Heritage Society (I think that's what it's called???) at Crown Center, but the chairs are very comfortable and we didn't feel crowded at all. There's not a bad seat in the house.

It was a little warm in the theater, but it was VERY warm outside in August, so it's all good. After my first time in this facility, I was extremely impressed. How Charlotte Street Foundation supports the arts is absolutely a blessing to everyone in our community, the surrounding area, and the neighborhood where they are located. We saw a professional dance company presentation called "Wordless" and it was extraordinary. It was every bit as good as anything I've seen on "So You Think You Can Dance" or any show on TV. It was a truly remarkable performance about different ways humans express love. The choreographer needs a Tony. She'll get there. Just magnificent. I'm sorry you missed it. I was so mesmerized I forgot to take a single picture. I was wholly present, a rare gift these days. Thank you!!

A bit pricey but worth it…read more For 2 people, 10 min was 30$ a person. We opted to add a bag of smashables for an additional 20$. You go in, sign a waiver. Get on an apron, your construction hat, and gloves. The owner was kind enough to allow us to print off some images and I was able to tape photos of two people that I wanted to smash on bottles. And! He added an extra 10 min for us. There's a few things in there already, available to smash. This was computer screens, washing machines, a few walls. But if you want glass? Make sure you get the bag. Quite cathartic.

We plan on attending this theater many times in the future to see other shows. They have an amazing collection of films available to see in the coming months. The theater is much bigger than I expected. It is HUGE! Theater number one was incredibly big. I'll be interested to see the other four theaters. Concessions were very reasonably priced to compared with all of the major chains. Glenwood Arts Theater is a real treasure!! LOVE this place!!
