So we made our selections from the display and ordered some coffee drinks to go (in case we couldn't finish and had to go, we can take it with us). We then decided to sit outside the bakery (they have outside sittings set up)
About 10 minutes later while we were enjoying THEIR cakes and coffees, a server came out and rudely told us to go away. Apparently because everything we bought from their bakery were packed as to go, we have to go and not eat at their terrace. We could understand some restaurants' policy, however, the way they sent us away was very rude and ruined our mood for the whole afternoon.
First of all, we came from US and all the bakery we've been to in the US never had this kind of policy. We understand that different country has different rules, however this was our first time in Jena and also our first time making purchase at a bakery so we didn't know. How hard is it to politely tell us the bakery's policy?
Thanks Gräfe for giving us a bad day!
