Mario, the owner, saw my band play here in my hometown of San Diego,CA and offered us a gig at his bar (Backstage Rock Bar) in Culiacan, Sinaloa. We jumped at the opportunity of going to visit a new city and perform. We are so glad we did. He rolled out the red carpet for us and gave us the rock star treatment. The people from Culiacan and his staff at Backstage were extremely welcoming and hospitable. Forget about what you've heard about the infamous city of Culichi, it was a complete opposite. One thing to know about Mario is that he's a musician first and foremost and you can tell by his passion to his craft. He has top of the line sound equipment which helps cultivate that rock and roll atmosphere. He's the lead singer for the house band there and let me tell you, they slay! They know their stuff, man! We are avid Foo Fighters fans. We we heard Mario and his band were doing a tribute night, we decided to give it a shot. We flew down from San Diego. We were treated like VIPs to say the least. The band killed it! The service was top notch! The people of Culiacan were very friendly and welcoming. Caught another band, Element, from Sonora, the next night.... amazing!
