Going here is rather tricky though but when you have GPS on your car, it shouldn't be any problem. It's around 40-minute picturesque walk through the forest to the best white sand beach I have ever seen in Scandinavia. I hope we could go back again in the summer!

They were of very good quality and we thoroughly enjoyed our meal! The staff was also very sweet and was checking in on us several times to see if everything was in order. For the price, it was just about right. I'm sure I'd try it again if I stayed in Ystad for longer than a night :-)

It's not cheap as far as local restaurant lunch standards go, but their dishes taste good, and it goes well with a (free) visit of their little apple garden, mock-up cider production line, and gallery. Portion sizes vary widely, be sure to ask ahead if you are very hungry. They have a popular cider store too on the premises, but note that they are only allowed to sell their zero-to-low percentage ciders there.

This is a charming seaside restaurant with a handsome view of the Baltic sea. It's located in an enclave with a few other businesses--a fish shop, and the path that leads up to Ales Stenar (Ale's Stones), a sort of Viking era Stonehenge. The restaurant is a good place to sample some of the local fresh seafood, or just to have a coffee and a homemade cardamom and cinnamon kannelbulle. Lunch prices for a set meal of entree, beverage, and sweet bun were reasonable. My fried fish cake was crunchy and delicious, balanced with tart red lingonberry sauce and creamy mashed potatoes. For dessert, my kannelbulle bun had all of the buttery flavor and intricate plaiting that you'd expect from this kind of pastry, yet it was a little misshapen too, signifying that it had been made by hand rather than pumped out at a factory. The second floor has the wall to wall windows for the best views while dining. It was too cold to eat outside during my trip, but they also offer outdoor seating. If you are in the area, this place is worth a trip.

From there it's a nice walk heading east until you hit Jennygatan. Along the walk you'll pass lots of beautiful buildings, chain and independent stores and lots of restaurants. At the corner of Stora Östergatan and Jennygatan there's a food market sometimes with lots of international food stalls. Best of all: the whole street is closed for traffic, so it's a really relaxing walk. Even if you're not a "Wallander"-Fan this town is defintely worth a visit when you're in Southern Sweden. The charming restaurant "Hos Morten Café" on a little side-street is definitely worth a visit....alone for its charming garden setting already.

Viktor's was the first stop on our Skåne driving tour. A rustic building with plenty of choices…read morefor seating. Some nice outside seating with plenty of trees and shade. We decided to split the chicken Smorebord sandwich and the chocolate mousse cake. Also, finished with coffee. Chicken was from a farm not too far away and it looks like they source ingredients locally as much as possible. Both sandwich and dessert were excellent! They have a shop where you can get jam, honey, coffee, tea and baked goods. A great start to our day!
