Good for cheap food while you're on the go. Its a chain and its nothing too special, but it'll fill you up with delicious baked goods if you're not looking to pay through the nose for food while exploring the town. read more

I LOVE LOVE LOVED this bakery!…read more So many options to choose from! Very affordable too! You would want to try everything when you walk in and smell the amazing aroma! This is quite a busy bakery but the line goes by fast! The staff was so friendly and nice and made sure I got all the bread I wanted. I loved the Der Würzige. By far the best bread that I had this entire trip. It was a spicy bread with herbs and corn and cheese in it. So flavorful and delicious!

Considering this is the only Persian bakery I know of in Dusseldorf (and the first one I've ever…read morebeen to) I'm rating it 5 stars - simply because I have nothing to compare it to; Plus I love the exotic mix of nuts, rose and orange blossom water and powered sugar in my baked goods. Of the 5 different items I ordered, everything seems to be freshly baked and really delicious. Unfortunately i can't remember the names, but it came with Persian chai (tea) which I consumed (all) in a matter of minutes. I noticed that some of the Persian desserts were very similar the Indian sweets I've had (e.g., Indian "jalebi" funnel cake, etc). Definitely on my list of places to visit again.
Cute lil Japanese bakery off the beaten path. This place is the COMPLETE AND TOTAL OPPOSITE of a…read moreGerman bakery, so turn back now if you're expecting crusty Brötchen! They have a lot of different types of Japanese pastries, aka pillowy soft bread with fillings, such as matcha, red bean, custard, etc. Everything is sealed in clear plastic and you just pick what you want and pay at the front. The items are hit or miss, but it really depends on what you like. I tried: - Earl gray muffin (nice with a subtle earl gray flavor, but tiny size) - Chocolate bun (soft chewy dough with a chocolate middle) - French toast stick (crunchy & sweet glazed toast) - Japanese curry roll (curry inside crunchy fried dough, kind of tastes like a Japanese meat pie) - Japanese iced coffee (plain black iced coffee, nothing special) Everything is 1-3 Euros, which seems fair, though the items are pretty small. There's plenty of seating and tons of bright windows, so it's a cute place to chat with friends or linger. When I dropped in, there were only Japanese people there. I don't think it can compare to the cafes in Japanese districts in other cities (for example LA's amazing Little Tokyo) BUT for Germany I think it's a unique place, and a great alternative when you want a different kind of bakery experience.
The only authentic Japanese bakery I've found in Germany so far!…read more The selection is huge. They sell it all, from Melon Pan to red bean / matcha cream filled pastries and the infamous Yakisoba Pan. Everything looks and tastes like it came straight out of Tokyo. If you like Japanese food / sweets and have a craving for matcha products don't miss out on this little gem hidden in a small side-street close to local Japan town. Prices range from 1,50 to 2,50€ Try the matcha cream filled buns. Those are heaven!
