Being a language teacher myself, I love and appreciate all that Babylonia e.V. stands for. They are a collective where all the teachers work together for the school, and it's reasonably priced. Unfortunately, if you are trying to add A1.1 for German (the first level) you better expect to wait several months before enrolling. You must enroll in person on Tuesdays from 12-3... and I kid you not, make sure to be there before noon. The class fills up fast!
Basically, the concept is very cool. The teachers and students are very progressive and "Berlin alternative" but the school is very disorganized and adding classes is not easy, especially for beginning levels.
This is my fifth month here in Berlin. The first time I tried to add, they had no room on their wait list. They said come back next month. When I returned, they said the class had not been posted online yet, so they couldn't add me. Told me to come back next month. Third time I went, I got there before 3 but the class was already full and I was added to the wait list. Class starts today... and I'm still not enrolled... -__- read more
