I'll post this in English for all the Spanish learners out there,…read more This school is amazing for foreign learners. I am American and live in Seattle, and I stayed in Querétaro for 2 months and did 5 hours of classes per weekday. The teachers all have their bachelor's degree minimum, and you only speak in Spanish at this school while learning. The teachers also generally rotate every week, or you can elect to keep a specific teacher ever day. The classes consist of grammar, conversation, and culture classes where sometimes the teachers take the students to various museums and outside school events. There are also extra events after classes sometimes! I am continuing my classes online at 1 hour per weekday right now, and I am progressing very nicely! The price is also fantastic, especially when compared to American language private tutoring classes. Remember that learning a language is a long process. But the teachers here know what they're doing, and they're all very positive while doing it. I can't recommend this school enough! I made so many friends.

We searched for just the right language school from Cuernavaca to Guanajuato. We visited schools,…read moresat in on classes to observe teaching, and visited examples of home stay accommodations. This school, Olé Cultural Center, won out over all of them. We have now studied at Olé over many summers. Their goal is to make this your home away from home. People from all over the world study there. The classes are small; the teaching is excellent; and the owners are collaborative. They strive to make this a perfect experience. Besides language instruction, there are excursions available to the pyramids and San Miguel de Allende among other locations. The home stay moms receive training about safety, cooking and helping their students with homework! They also have online instruction available. It's a very special school with very special people, in one of the most beautiful and historical cities of Mexico.

I had a great time at Chantico / PLI (same thing), studying Spanish as a second language. (Most of…read moretheir reviews are on Google Maps, which is much more commonly used in Mexico, but I wanted to post here for my other US Americans who use Yelp.) I took online classes weekly for 8 weeks about a year ago, and then was in person for 2 weeks. I had both online and in-person classes with Fer, who was great and put a lot into developing her own exercises and materials, and did a lot of conversation about various topics when that felt like my priority. Overall, Chantico is super flexible to your needs and interests (you just book which hours you want to work with a teacher) and just a very friendly group of people. They do run some weekend outings to different attractions in the area as well, to see more things and get to know the other students. I corresponded with Francisco beforehand and he was easy to work with. He made sure I knew where to go, what bus company to take, etc. When I arrived, he also picked me up from the bus station, and drop me off at the end. I wasn't expecting that but it was nice to be welcomed! The Centro Historico area right by the school is beautiful, walkable, safe, and full of interesting and tasty things. And Querétaro is a good-sized place, so whatever you need, they probably have it. Spring was a great time to go, climate-wise--no rain, jacarandas and bougainvillea in bloom, really beautiful. I briefly did a homestay and enjoyed it, but I caught COVID shortly before arriving in Querétaro so quickly transferred to an Airbnb (in order not to infect my homestay host) and got refunded the nights I didn't stay. Francisco and Fer were both super accomodating and helpful when I had COVID--I didn't get very sick, but Francisco still delivered me groceries, checked in on how I was doing every day, and made sure I knew he would take me to a doctor if I needed to go. All super comforting when traveling alone in a new country where the medical systems, etc are different! Overall I really recommend Chantico and Querétaro!
