YUCATHAI FUSION - We came here hoping for an authentic asian food place (as there are so few asian restaurants out here) but the heavily mixed menu left us unsure. While the place itself is lovely and it is in a wonderful part of town by Santa Lucia park, and the menu prices are incredibly fair for the portion sizes, this is absolutely a situation about managing expectations. The menu claims fresh noodles made daily, and it is a very hearty fettucini, but not noodles. The dumplings were thai-like but very Yucatecan in delivery, more like small empanadas. The red curry was probably the most authentic thing, but it is extremely difficult to find asian ingredients of good quality in Merida so really this place serves you better if you think of it as a Yucatecan fusion restaurant. From that angle, noodles can be pasta, dumplings can be empanadas, and jasmine rice can be arborio. That's not how they market it tho, so we had a mismatch in expectations. Giving it an extra star for ambiance and value, but the food as asian food was not at the mark. Much better viewed from a fusion lens. Solid service and prompt. Probably won't return but if you want something different and come in with the right mindset you should do ok.
