The only reason I gave them one star is because there is no option for zero stars. Let me start by…read moresaying that I used to work at Napa Auto Parts; I used to deliver parts to garages, etc. I am well aware of how Napa employees are supposed to act, owners or managers or otherwise. Their job is to get money from customers (sell auto parts) and also provide excellent customer service. Refunds is one of those things that customers expect, if they need to return an item if it is not the correct part. I find that Napa's auto parts are of better quality than the other after market retail stores. It is for this reason that I force myself to go endure the men who work here, in an effort to procure the auto parts that I need, and am willing to pay good money for. I needed to purchase a motorcycle battery for my daughter's bike; as she is in the US Navy and needs it to get around the Navy Base in Lamore, CA. I went into the store last week, and asked the manager (who is an ego maniac imho) if he had any in stock. He said no. He could get one from Louisville and it would be here tomorrow. I asked him if it wasn't the correct battery, would he give me a refund. He said "Well I dont really want to do that." (What?! Really?!) Im female, btw, and my ex-boyfriend is the father of this manager's good buddies, I gathered from the conversation between the two when we went in there to get something for me, in the past. :/ So good ol boy system ready to go. lol So I go into the store first thing in the morning, and noticed the manager was sitting in front of one employee, and 3 older gentlemen sitting at the counters (doing nothing but gossiping I think because I heard the manager say "That's crazy!" really loud to his "audience". No work was going on, at all. So I go in, and all of their eyes are on me! Yikes! Ok so I ask the manager a question, in front of all of his audience, relating to what he said about no refund. I asked him is he still going to refuse to give me a refund if it is the wrong battery? He said No.(At this point you could tell he had turned on me because his ego was threatened, ugh!) I reminded him that last week he said he wouldn't give me a refund if it was the wrong battery. He said "I DIDNT SAY THAT!" I told him to "tell everyone what you said! You have an audience, after all!" All of the men started looking at a magazine with boat parts in it. (There was no business transactions going on, remember.) So this man refused to serve me, BUT DIDN'T EVEN HAVE THE PROFESSIONALISM TO TELL ME! Now I understand that businesses have the right to refuse service to anyone, but not to even tell the person, and to treat me in such a dishonest, disrespectful, and unprofessional manner, from the start, is just horrible business practices. I sensed he was messing with me, in front of his audience, but not SAYING anything, just using body language. That is child's play. I, then, went over and looked at the boat parts book (like all the men were doing). The man who was looking at the book gave it back to another guy, like he was done looking at the boat magazine. Then I went and sat back down on my stool. Still patiently waiting to buy my battery (because I was going to hire the other guy who worked at Napa to put it in my daughter's bike, so it could be shipped to CA). They continued to chit chat, and then another man came into the store (I was ahead of him). The manager started looking into a magazine (for the guy coming into the store...not yet inside!). I saw him ask the new customer what he could do for him, all nice. I then walked over and stood next to the new customer and stared at the manager like WTH! The manager then looked at me and said "Mam, I am not going to get you a battery! Im not going to get you ANY battery! Now if you would just leave the store!" My reply was to thank him for communicating this information to me, as COMMUNICATION IS KEY! I told him. Then maybe my Turrets may have kicked in on my way out, as my nerves were frazzled, I think I called him the d- word. If there is a way to complain to NAPA corporation, that is what I will do next! Sexist Manager Discriminates against Females that he just doesn't like assertive females. Wow, I never imagined it, but yep, here in Paoli, IN, White Nationalist's Pocket / Sexist Men Pocket here, of which this manager is good friends with the son of one of them, from what I have observed. Sell me a darned battery already! Is it really that hard to sell an old lady a battery? Really Napa Auto Parts Manager in Paoli, IN store? BTW Cory, Ill hire someone else to "help" me out. I dont want you or any of those men who hang out and gossip at that store, anywhere near my property.
