Gyro was a bit strange - completely soaked with juice and such a strong onion taste it overpowered the taste. Instead of a 'creamy' sauce the pita was drenched. All right, so this place is more of a fast food convenience like a Panera. They do have a military discount so that was a plus. I got the shrimp Gyro and I would say it was very well balanced with the food. The atmosphere was beautiful. I was sitting outside. It really is one of those places that I would want to go back and try more dishes before I give it the best review. I do like that. Went for dinner after a heavy lunch. The staff is really helpful in favorites and helping with questions. They have dinner entrees after 5 but we wanted something a little lighter. All 3 of us ordered a gyro. They have their own sauce which is mayonnaise based but I love traditional taziki so i got that. My wife and son got the baba sauce. They really liked it. The gyro came fast and were stuffed with meat. The couscous had a very good flavor. I don't remember having it before so i don't have anything to compare it to but would order it again. The hummus was really good but the pita that comes with it had a lot of herbs on it and was a little overbearing to me but my wife liked it. They gave us some plain to go with it. We have eaten here twice recently and really enjoyed the food. The Mediterranean bowl is outstanding, very fresh. Everything we have ordered has been well seasoned and with good proportions. Chicken shawarma very tasty. My only suggestion for t(e owners is to put a little more effort into the decor. They did upgrade their chairs to a more comfortable chair but the inside of the place does not feel mid eastern but feels more like a cafeteria. Also, some mid eastern music would be thoughtful instead of country western. I think their sales would go up if the ambiance was improved. Staff is very nice and attentive. Other suggestion: make falafel an available side dish. This is common in other mid eastern cafes. read more

We happened upon it when walking our dog through Main Street, we had lunch on the patio with our big boy getting to meet people walking by which is his favorite thing to do and really enjoyed what was an overall rained out day on vacation. Tonight we had the lamb stew which was perfect for the cold weather! This use to be a Mediterranean restaurant but for some reason it closed but now has re-opened as another Medit. restaurant AND that's good! I think having a variety of cuisine is good for everyone. I read one review the person was expecting very specific Medit food like grilled octopus hence was disappointed they didn't have that...this is a casual eatery. They have a limited menu which is good so they can focus on those items ( no hamburgers, chicken sandwiches, etc.) . We got a beef/lamb gyro in grilled pita with cucumber/tomato side ($12.99) it was good...the best we've ever had...no but it was good! We love dining out when we are in Fernandina, but we decided to do takeout one night and chose Baba's. They hit it out of the park on everything! On top of that the preparation for our large order was fast and staff were very nice. It jumped into one of the top spots for a fast casual meal in FB. Our other favorite is always Wicked Bao, which we love for eat-in because of the cocktails. Baba's is in our regular rotation now for takeout or dine-in casual. I'm a local and have been coming here since it's opened. Usually I love it, but today really disappointed me. I walked in and spent around 40 dollars worth of food for my family to go. There is no place to stand to wait for my food or sit other than one singular chair on the inside portion of where all the employees work, so since I just ordered and am a valued customer I'm going to take a seat and wait for my food like everyone else. I then get told to stand up or sit in the employee chair near the kitchen. I understand it might be a busy day and want to have seats for other customers but what if I wanted to eat in store even if I got take out? Is my money not worth it to take a seat for 5 minutes versus people who ordered for here for less of an amount I paid for? Been coming here since it opened and have supported this business constantly, I have poured so much money into this establishment let me have a seat for 5 minutes without getting yelled at to sit in the corner of an employee chair. We were just waking around the Fernandina Beach area and came across this place and decided to try it for lunch. There is plenty of street parking available and I parked during a Sunday afternoon. The location is very nice and clean, with bright and vibrant colors to fit the Greek/Mediterranean theme. The portions of meat and toppings were great, the pita was loaded. It was also delicious, one of the best I've tried. It also comes with a side of tzatziki sauce which is one of my favorites and I was using a dollop with every bite. The cucumber salad was super refreshing and tangy.
