The booking was swift and easy, and this includes registering for the course itself. Course materials were available online too, which was convenient. I was most impressed by the trainer who was extremely knowledgeable and had a lot of credibility behind her. The course was delivered via a range of tools and she included a lot of group and individual exercises. Perks include a co-op with a myriad of management and leadership books, as well as a catered snacks and lunches. That's right. They've even got a dining room with a professional kitchen! The food was delicious too! I'm really looking forward to my next AIM course!

French had long been on the ol' "Must learn this one day" list and back in the Summer of a few…read moreyears ago, with an injury forcing me to reassess life (deep, I know), I launched into classes with Katrina and Lingua Franca. During this time their classes were conducted in cafes and bookstores, however now they've opened a studio where they host classes. And sure, the classes have developed further but the ethos remains the same: affordable language lessons in an environment comfortable enough to learn. Katrina's warmth, encouragement and generous nature make her the perfect teacher. I only ever felt encouraged and supported during lessons. Her ability to continue helping you perfect pronunciation or revisit a concept that you wanted to clarify made it a safe environment to learn in. Since I last studied with Katrina, their classes have grown and you can now take up to 6-levels of French studies dependent on your current French skills. If it's something you've been thinking about, I'd highly recommend taking the plunge and learning the beauty of the French language under the guidance of Katrina. Merci!

The kids at the vacation care in Goodna were an absolute pleasure to perform a puppet show for and…read morework with during the puppetry performance workshop that Elissa and I ran there. Very friendly, enthusiastic and well behaved kids, and very good teachers who were not only brilliant at behavioural management, but also spent time discussing with the class everything they enjoyed about their time during vacation care. When we arrived, the teachers had them watching FRAGGLE ROCK to prepare them for our puppetry lesson! After our puppet show and "hands on" workshop, they all constructed their own puppets using clothes pegs, paper cutout shapes and feathers (the pegs opened like mouths). And as we were leaving, they all sat down to watch LABYRINTH! Never have I seen so much interest in puppetry that teachers are willing to prepare the students with some Jim Henson classics, and then a puppet making craft lesson. Not to mention booking some professionals to come and perform and teach the craft. A most enjoyable morning at St Francis Xavier Primary School Vacation Care. My visit took about an hour, and that included a comprehensive going over of any problem areas before they get started. Your student massage therapist will take you to a curtained off cubicle and work on whatever needs doing. Be prepared for a supervisor to pop in and check on everything while you're there. Was it on par with an $80 massage from an experienced person? No, it wasn't. But that's okay. These people are just starting out and for $20 you could do a lot worse.

Its new 92-seat cinema features a five metre screen, digital projection and Dolby 7.1 surround sound. It is a learning facility as well as being available to hire for private screening functions. Some of Australia's most respected filmmakers are amongst their Alumni including Peter and Michael Spierig, documentary filmmaker Peter Hegedus, scriptwriter Alice Addison and director Anthony Mullins. So if you fancy a career in filmmaking, you can't go wrong with a degree from this worthy institution.

As a third year film student I have had the privilege of meeting industry professionals and award winning creatives, I have learned the latest techniques on the most up to date software, I have had a chance to use some of the best and most recent cameras in the field and have had a blast doing it. The teaching staff are friendly and truly care about each student and each project as if it was their own. As a soon-to-be graduate I feel confident that I can leave this school with the skills I need and the knowledge to get me to where I want to go.

I finished high school a nervous wreck, I wasn't sure about uni and didn't want to spend the equivalent of a home loan trying to find out if it was right for me. So I headed to the Southbank campus, I can't get over just how friendly and understanding the staff members are here. I was lead through the process and enrolled in a day. The fee's seem really reasonable for what you are getting back in return and its one of the best hands on technical colleges in Brisbane. The universities are also taking note, and so partnerships are flourishing between the two. This is good news for us, because getting a university pathway after a Tafe vocation is now easier than ever. So if you're young or old, just finished high school or need a new career I recommend you head to their website and check out their courses. You never know what you'll find.

During semester, the QUT Creative Industries Precinct becomes my second home. I'm sure in its time…read moreit has witnessed some amazing creativity, teamwork and tears, and that's just from me. I find it a fantastic place to study, and (as geeky as this sounds) hang out. The facilities at Z Block (as it's lovingly referred to by people who spend too much time there) are second to none. There are numerous computer labs, the studio for the fashion students as well as editing suites for Film & Television studies. There's also opportunity to hire spaces for exhibitions, fashion shows and events. I've been to a launch party and a fashion graduate show in the facilities in the precinct, and they were fantastic venues with plenty of space. I love studying at QUT, and I especially love being a Creative Industries student so I can utilise the world class facilities on offer at the Creative Industries Precinct on Musk Avenue. If you're toying with the idea of studying in a creative stream at QUT, know that the spaces available are incredible.
