We asked where some restaurants were and got a list of good ones. But as we walked outside and saw this cute little terrace with chairs facing the canal (with blankets) and had such a great vibe, we thought there's no better place to be then literally right here! We enjoyed a couple lattes it got the tapas plate. How perfect! So here we sit, enjoying the sun, the walkers-by, the boats on the canal and the amazing views.

We did take a taxi, but found out the entrance for guests is around the back on the cobblestone. You will need to go up to an elevator to find the lobby. The inside of the hotel is very cool, and very themed towards the old post office vibe that it used to be. The staff at the front desk is very nice and accommodating, and they will walk you to your room and show you everything. We had a room that was a king bed loft style, with the bathroom on the second level. They had cocktails little treats and stuff in the mini bar in the room. The bed was very comfortable. The windows opened up and looked out right into the city center. Wow it was beautiful and the perfect location!!! There are plenty of things within walking distance to the hotel, including the Castle, bars and restaurants, the river bus stop tram stop, etc. The hotel has an on-site bar and restaurant. We had a few cocktails from the bar. It was super cozy and a really good time! It appeared a lot of people from the city were there so it was a highly sought after bar to go to. Overall I really recommend staying at the post even if it's a little bit more expensive it's totally worth it!!

We would definitely recommend anybody going to get Ghent, to stay at Pillows. The staff is amazing and so friendly and the hotel is very clean. Definitely a highlight of our trip!
Hotel de Flandre
Most of the time, the purpose of a hotel room is to be a place to sleep and keep your belongings…read morewhile on vacation. But once in awhile, you get those hotels that make you want to stay in all day. Slippers, gigantic comfy bed, hot chocolate in the room, awesome breakfast spread, quiet... I definitely loved it here; in fact, I kind of felt like Kevin in Home Alone with a huge hotel room all for me! Unfortunately, there were a few cons. First, the weird white stains on my carpet and chair in two spots. Maybe bleach, maybe something else? Second, SLOWEST ELEVATOR EVER: But OK, at least they have one. And third, when I went to run a bath, the water came out yellow orange. Maybe there is a logical explanation but that seriously weirded me out, so I passed. The hotel has this thing where the lights and electricity don't work in your bedroom unless you stick your key card in a slot by the door, so for my first 24 hours here I thought there was faulty wiring or something. When I told the lady up front, she gave me the lowdown. Guess it's been awhile since I stayed in a hotel? Still, a cool concept, provided you know what's up. Would I stay here again? Absolutely. It was classy and right in the middle of town, but I still slept soundly even with Gentse Feesten going on around me.

Their customer service is 5-star from the very moment you email them. Friendly, helpful, prompt replies to emails in perfect English, which is very useful. Brothers Jeffrey and Steven have a trusting yet professional approach to daily business which makes you feel like a part of the family. They gave us excellent recommendations of cool spots to eat out, explore, and go out that were definitely off the beaten path for many tourists. As others have said, the breakfast is delightful, the rooms are incredibly spacious, and the linens and beds soft, clean, and comfortable. The location near the train station is actually great (I'm usually wary of such places) and the tram into the centre of town is cheap and only takes about 5 minutes. I absolutely cannot recommend this hotel enough and all of us in the Orlando Chamber Choir wish them the utmost success.
