His nephew, Ryan, arrived the next day and assessed the damage which thankfully wasn't as bad as we thought it would be and didn't even need to open an insurance claim. He was very friendly and answered all my questions and promised to come back the next day and replace our missing shingles, weather permitting, which was fine with me.
