    I am writing to share a recent experience I had with the Greenbelt State Farm office. Earlier…read moretoday, I contacted the office to inquire about obtaining a calendar. As a long-time State Farm customer, and being in close proximity to this location at the time, I thought it would be a simple request. During the call, I was told, "We do not have African-American calendars," which I found both unexpected and concerning, as I had not mentioned my ethnicity or requested any specific type of calendar. Ms. Esther Smith then suggested that I visit my local State Farm office and indicated that the calendars were reserved for her customers. While I understand the importance of prioritizing one's own clientele, my assigned agent was approximately 40 minutes away at the time. The conversation concluded with Ms. Smith offering me a calendar; however, I declined due to the negative undertones I perceived during the interaction. What I anticipated would be a straightforward request instead became an uncomfortable experience marked by what felt like unnecessary assumptions. The tone of the interaction left me feeling uneasy. As this was my only interaction with Ms. Smith, I recognize the possibility that she may have been having an off day; however, I felt it was important to share this feedback.
