On 1/16 we received a call that the bike was ready and were given a two-day window to pick it up before the shop closed for a week. This felt a bit unnecessary considering the bike had already been there for about four months. Here's the part that caught us off guard: when we arrived, the total was over $350. Up to that point, we had only been told it would be somewhere in the $200 range. We were then told they couldn't give an exact price ahead of time because parts prices fluctuate, which hadn't been clearly explained earlier in the process. My issue isn't really the price -- it's how everything was handled. The communication throughout the repair took a lot of follow-up on our end, and the final cost wasn't clear until pickup. When we asked about the difference and the delay, the conversation felt a bit tense, but they did end up offering a small discount, which I appreciated. I originally planned to leave a 1-star review, but because they worked with us in the end, I'm settling on 2 stars. I'm not trying to discourage anyone from using the shop -- just sharing my experience. This store and the layout was quite funky. You can barely move around to access items and get to the register etc. The register counter was a mess with things everywhere. When you walked in you didn't even see anyone for help and no one ever asked to assist. A girl was laying on the couch talking on the phone or something, another man was working and then the lady was in the back by repairs. I recommend searching elsewhere for your repair needs. I had called a few shops looking for one that could change an electric scooter inner tube for my son. B&B said they could and I took it in. My first indication of unprofessionalism was not receiving a claim ticket for the scooter. They wrote my phone number on a scrap piece of paper from the cluttered counter. I picked the scooter up a few days later and returned it to my son who knew as soon as he stood on it that it wasn't inflated properly. He used a tire gauge to see it had 22psi instead of 36. The positioning of the stem was such there was no way for us to inflate. I returned to the shop where they tried 3 pumps to add air, all the while telling me 36psi (the manufacturers recommendation) was way too much and they would only do 28. I inquired several times about why the stem faces that way? was it in wrong? etc. I was told that was how it had to be. Both when I picked up the scooter and when I returned it, the owner repeatedly said how they hate working on scooters. They don't have equipment for them, they weren't aware of different stem directions for inner tubes, etc. They are a bicycle shop (although they have scooters for sale there). That's all great, then do not tell someone you can do a job that you cannot and certainly don't be so callous and dismissive to customers who have paid you. I have since taken to a different shop who said the inner tube was in backwards and helped remedy the situation. And they agreed, it does take 36psi. read more

I was doing a bike rally in Ferris, Texas, four days ago when my seat loosened and began pointing downward. Needless to say, this made for some uncomfortable riding. Luckily for me, B&B Bicycles had a mobile mechanic at the Palmer rest stop. The mechanic took my seat apart, lubricated the mechanism, and tightened it to my specifications. The remainder of my ride went very well. Thank you to the mechanic (he told me, after being queried, that his accent was South African) and to the bike shop that sent him to the rally. Dropped my bike off for new handlebars and a tuneup. Pulled the handlebars up on their website to show the owner (who was not very interested in helping me at all) she said they had them in stock. Called in after a week and a half of no contact and was told they were waiting on the handlebars to be shipped in, after she said they were in stock. Received a message the next day that my bike was ready. Picked it up and all they did was throw on the new bars. Bike had no brakes, tires were damn near flat and very dirty, and I was overcharged for the new handlebars. Spoke with the same woman that I dropped the bike off to and she claimed no tuneup was ordered. Yet, we discussed how the bike had no brakes when I dropped it off. Will not be returning to get the tuneup, and the extra money they charged me for the handlebars is not worth dealing with the owner again. Look elsewhere for your biking needs. read more

Unlike some of the comments below, I have had a completely different experience at B&B. I found the owner to be kind, very welcoming and very accommodating to my needs. Even offering a discount on a previous year model bicycle... price was so good I could hardly say no to purchasing the bike, so I did! I found the sales technician James to be extremely passionate about bicycles not the typical trying to get the sale spiel if you know what I mean. I also found him to be very knowledgeable, kind and truly interested in my budget and purchase requirements. He went above and beyond allowing me to sample at least five bicycles and was always waiting at the door for my return. I have purchased over 12 bicycles in my lifetime from triathlon bikes, downhill bikes cruiser bikes not to mention lots of accessories. Doing business @/with B&B has been by far, my best experience at a bicycle store. Thank you B&B bicycles for such a great experience, especially since we were new to the state of Texas just moving here 1 month ago. PS. I enjoyed my experience so much I brought my wife's bike there the following day for service and to my surprise the mechanic Zack was able to get it in right away and we were out of there in 30 minutes. Zack KNOWS his stuff and had a humble spirit about him. He is extremely talented and was able to tune the bike up along with replacing cables and even installed the battery for us on the odometer speed monitor.... All in less than a half-hour! Truly I regret having ordered a bicycle from this store. First off, the owner is rude, dishonest and unaccomodating. The bike was supposed to be in the store for pickup within 4 days...well that turned into a TWO WEEK wait. There were no courtesy calls (even after I had paid for the bike mind you)...I had to call in practically on a daily basis to find out the status...they had no idea when it was going to arrive... Then once I received it, I rode it ONE TIME, and wasn't happy with it, so I brought it back to the store to make an exchange for a bike I would like better...but the owner claimed she'd have to take $150. Off the trade price due to scuff marks and wear....???? As I say....I rode it only ONCE. and owned it for less than one week. She was very flat, rude & disinterested in resolving my issue....And only trying to rip me off!! Unless this store changes ownership, I would NEVER recommend anyone shop there. read more
