The food was simply "just" OK but not worth 115 minutes of my life. All of the sudden @10:15 on Friday night, the wait staff drops the ticket on our table. We are not finished, called her over and asked why we have the bill. She says it's time to close & the Sushi chef turns off the works light. We call the manager (who has a very uncaring attitude) and ask what's going on AS we just sat down? He says that it was last call and we said we were not made aware of this. He reluctantly said OK & another staff member with even more attitude literally says nothing and drops the food on the table with no thank you, no enjoy your entree or did she bring any sauces. The crunch roll was very good, and the great thing was that it tasted very fresh, which is always a plus. The Jap Chae was okay, not exactly sure what was off about it but it needed a little something. The bibimbap was very tasty, however, Bibimbap in Soho beats them on this one in my opinion. The Dakbulgogi was delicious. Succulent chicken drenched in spicy sauce, I love it. We also ended the dinner on a good note by getting some green tea ice cream. It's no surprise then to find out that the main chef is a graduate of fine dining restaurants such as Sushi Samba. The restaurant lacks a bit in atmosphere, but don't let that put you off. Go. It's always hard to find here because so many places serve only Halal to cater to the local populations, but it's always a treat for me when I find the authentic dish in the UK. It was juicy, fully cooked through, and perfectly lightly flavoured with salt and pepper. I ordered 3 of my 4 favourite dishes here. The other two are Samgyetang (Korean Ginseng Chicken Soup) and Tuna Kimbap. The Tuna Kimbap is also hard to find in England and I don't know why. It's a simply colourful and delicious dish to make and doesn't take much cooking. The Samgyetang broth was good and the meat was tender. It didn't come with salt and pepper on the side which it traditionally comes with in my experience since it's normally a very very light broth, but this time it felt light and fresh but still had a good amount of flavour. The owner and server seemed nice and are Korean so I made sure to say 맛있다 or mashita expressing how tasty everything was and my love for their cooking. It's on a main road and close to Middlesex University, if I was a student again, I'd definitely be here all the time, haha. Note that there aren't banchan (traditional Korean side dishes) but it was still a very filling experience and not overly greasy. Also, the Brown Rice Green Tea is my go-to tea, but it came in a teabag which I wasn't expecting, still lovely though! I'd love to come back sometime and try more faves. Maybe I'll bring family.
