RATING FOR PLANT STALLS:
We came across this farmer's market completely by accident....a happy accident at that!
Located at the back of McDonalds on Claro M Recto Hwy in Clark Freeport, you will find a farmers market filled with fruits, veggies, plants and prepared food. The sellers are friendly and helpful.
As an anthophile, I was giddy with with excitement in seeing all the exotic plants and flowers, some having traveled all the way from Baguio. At first glance, the prices are high; but with a good eye and proficiency in haggling, you can definitely find some bargains. I happily brought home a String of Pearls, a Caladium called "Thai beauty", and a white and green leafed Cordyline edged in fuschia. As I was carefully carrying my new babies to the car, my sweet hubby brought me a giant, black, star leaf begonia. It was gorgeous!
I can't wait to go back to check out more plants, and try out some food too!
TIP: the best time to find bargains is closing time when the sellers are going home. Make sure to haggle, it's expected. read more
