Our family attended this daycare for about a year with our two children, ages 5 and 15 months. Unfortunately, our experience ended in a very disappointing and hurtful way. Our 5-year-old, Everlee, is currently going through an incredibly emotional time as her grandfather battles ALS. Because of the stress and emotional toll this has taken on her, we decided to take some pressure off and wait until next year to start school. Her last day attending was April 31st. Even though she had spent the entire year with her classmates, when I asked if she could still participate in the graduation ceremony, I was told no. I even offered to pay the drop-in rate and provided the required two-week notice, but the answer remained no. Meanwhile, my 15-month-old was still welcome to attend, despite not even understanding the event. It felt unnecessarily cold and lacking compassion for a child already navigating such a difficult family situation. Throughout our time there, anytime I asked reasonable questions about curriculum, schedules, classroom structure, or child-to-staff ratios, I was often met with dismissive or unprofessional responses instead of open communication. For a daycare that charges higher-than-average rates in the area based on promises of smaller ratios and quality care, I expected much better professionalism and transparency. One specific concern I raised was regarding a photo posted showing a large group of very young children, including infants and toddlers in high chairs while older children participated in activities. When I politely asked how activities were being handled between age groups and what curriculum looked like for the youngest children, the response I received felt defensive rather than informative. As a parent, asking questions about supervision, ratios, and developmental activities should never be treated as a problem. What was most upsetting was that after respectfully expressing my concerns and asking questions as a parent, I was informed that my child was being unenrolled because it was supposedly "in the best interest of both parties." In reality, it did not feel like the best interest of our family or our child was considered at all. Instead of addressing concerns professionally and collaboratively, we were made to feel punished for simply advocating for our children and asking for clarity. I understand childcare is demanding, and I truly wanted this to be a positive experience. I myself have an Early Childhood degree. I manage 2 preschools. I hold policies and procedures as well as lead in professional development and mental health. There were moments we appreciated, and I know caring for children is not easy. But compassion, professionalism, transparency, and respectful communication matter just as much as the activities themselves. In the end, we left feeling unheard, dismissed, and deeply disappointed in how our family -- especially our daughter during such a difficult time -- was treated. It all felt very transactional. We also were not allowed to go down int to the classroom for drop off. That is a red flag. They will also send your child home without a fever. You still have to pay full price when this occurs. I was informed that if we got a dr not we were cleared. We paid for an apt and we're still told our child could not come regardless of being cleared by a doctor.
