Not too long ago I messed up my finger and it ended up swelling up pretty bad. As a result I had to…read morehave my wedding ring cut off. (Too be fair it was a bit too tight even before my accident). Kingsley Jewelry cut it off at no cost. They suggested I give my finger some time to heal, and they would measure and resize my ring. Well, my finger is healed and I went back in and dropped it off. Less than 24 hours later and I have my ring back. It looks absolutely amazing and there is no way to tell it was ever cut. I would give Shipley's negative ratings if I could. I took my set of 3 stackable rings (one with a…read moreruby, one with a sapphire and one with an emerald) there to be soldered together. Scott told me that I would need some sort of piece of gold to reinforce the rings as they were soft. These items were not cheap. In order cover the cost, I sold two gold bangles to him. When I went in to pick up the final product, not only was I disappointed at how ugly the "fix" (the reinforcements were), he casually told me that he took the liberty of replacing my stones. NOT once EVER did he mention that or ASK me if I wanted the stones replaced. The "new" sapphire doesn't even look like like a sapphire -looks more like a tanzanite or aquamarine. I was so stunned, i left without saying anything. That was on me. That prompted me to look up the price of gold when I gave him my bangles to cover the cost. He waaaaay underpaid based on the price of gold at that time. Again, my bad because I didn't say anything. Just so disappointed and upset about the whole thing as the rings were a present from my deceased dad. Jim picked up my mantle clock eight months ago. That was after I had had it back for seven months…read morefrom his repair service, but it would not regulate time. I messed with it for several months and then called Jim and discussed with him. He came and picked up the clock again. As mentioned, he has had my clock for eight months with no repair accomplished. There were no updates unless I texted or called him. His only response would be for me to be patient and that clock repair takes time. I've had many clocks and dealt with many clock repairmen and have never seen anything like this. I have also noticed several reviews similar to mine with people frustrated over the long waits and no intermittent updates after extended periods of time. I finally picked my clock up today and will take it elsewhere. The clock does not run at all now, so I have no idea what he has done. I would be very cautious about utilizing clockworks repair services and make sure that if he keeps your clock for an extended period of time that he will at least update you. I believe he has too many clocks and does not spend intermittent time on any specific clock to monitor time regulation and other issues issues he might be dealing with.
