At 4:15 pm, there was one worker at the front desk taking care of 1 customer when my husband and I walked in. 6 people were waiting in total. After waiting for 20 minutes with no service some "dude" came out from the back. He may have been the manager (I hope not). He raised his voice from behind the desk and asked who was next. We said that we were next. He then asked us loudly (the whole place is small) and unprofessionally, "Are you same day?" The question was ambiguous. Did he mean were we getting and returning the car the same day or were we renting today or what? I said that we were trying to book a car days in advance. None of that mattered because he was neither trying to listen to nor hear what we wanted. He kept over-talking us and repeating , "I'm out of cars. We're out cars" like an idiot ass; and proceeded to tell us to go to the airport to rent a car NOT KNOWING THAT WE LIVE IN FRISCO AND ARE NOT VISITORS! Before I hung up the phone I had the "confirmation" in my email, so I thought everything was great. Fast forward 15 minutes...I'm already in my Lyft on my way up to the Plano location when the manager calls me to tell me they do not have anything available, I'm like WTF!!! I'm loking at my email on my iPhone and I have a confirmation, whaddaya mean you don't have a car? He gives me some BS that the system has some lag and that their availability is not really "live time" or some shit like that. I tell him I'm already $12.00 into my Lyft ride on my way up there and all he can do is apologize and says "I can continue to come up there but he cannot garauntee he'll have any cars available when I get up there. So, I told the Lyft driver to turn around, I was certian I'd get this resolved thru corporate. The below images of correspondence are in chronological order. Notice the dozen or so customer service reps all promising the same BS. First, the insincere BS apology, then their BS commitment to get this resolved. I had my truck's transmission replaced 3 years ago and it was excellent service. However, there…read moremust be new management because I dropped truck off at 9am which I told them the day before to replace transfer case motor but they didn't start working on it until 1pm. I guess dropping of vehicle means they work on truck when they feel like it. I had two other items I replaced myself that took me 15 minutes each they had on estimate to change. Example: transfer speed sensor $124 for part then an hour to replace at $225. The cost of parts are doubled and they charge $225 an hour for labor which is dealership high cost end. My bad I should have researched labor cost. i will not use them again.

We were abandoned 35 miles from our resort by National. Their service towed our car. No replacement vehicle was ever brought to us. We had to secure alternative transportation which cost over $1300. This is no longer Dollar, it is Hertz…read more Interesting experience. The Hertz Corporation owns Dollar and Thrifty Automotive Group--which separates into Thrifty Car Rental and Dollar Rent A Car. Maybe there is no overlap, but when i called about Dollar Rental, they stated we are Hertz. Then that was it, no inquiry or ask if they could assist with a car rental. I suspect that behind the scenes nothing has changed, and the poor ratings for this car rental business remain even though the name has changed.
