The staff greetings and engagement showcased the heavy investment and how seriously they have been running this restaurant for a long time. Yes, service was next level. We were a party of six and three different servers attended our table. Also, The chef came out to check on us after we finished eating. Menu is very diverse. I ordered 4 main dishes to split with my wife since the prices were pretty good compared to the states and the place inspired me to try it all. We went with the Deer Loin, the Duck Magret, the Suckling Lamb Chops and the best which was the main Suckling Lamb(Lechazo). It was awesome!!! I left it for last because I knew it was the best. For my luck, my wife was super full and kept looking at me in disgust cause I kept devouring the Lechazo by myself like there was no tomorrow. She kept asking me if I wasn't full, while I kept forking those nice pieces of tender & tasty meat together with the crispy skin and wetting it in its own sauce before my bite. I truly enjoyed it. I wasn't too thrilled about the duck and deer although they were good dishes with delicious creams and sauces I wouldn't order again knowing I can have their Lechazo or Carrillera. Other notable dishes: the pumpkin soup was surprisingly nice. I didn't want to waste stomach space on the salad my wife ordered but the red and dark Cecina cuts(cow ham) looked amazing and my wife kept making joyful faces while eating so I tried it and it was pretty good. My father in law gave some of his garbanzos beans. He had asked the server to remove the octopus which I thought it was a crime, but still was very nicely done. As you can see in the pics, the server is pouring nice amounts of extra virgen spaniard olive oil and paprika. My in laws had the cod & salmon and they spoke well of their dishes. We were the last to leave the restaurant since I really wanted to try almost everything and that gave me time to take my kids to the bath. I was impressed to see they have more than 5 private toilet areas with to sinks in the middle very well designed. Luckily for me and other families they have a big room with changing stations. The place is very close to the Gaudí Palace and other attractions. I had a great experience and I highly recommend this place. Keep in mind all restaurants close their kitchen at 4:00pm for a few hours.

We recommend this experience 100%…read more We were back again in Spain and went to Leon and headed to Bodega El Capricho Santa Elena Dde Jamuz. Dont just dine in but book the package with a tour. No words to explain this unique experience. We set off to see the farm and wine cellars and caves where they cure the meats etc. and then headed back to experience Bodega El Capricho meats and wines dining inside the cave setting. We were joined by owner Jose Gordon and our tour guide Alfredo who handles the experience inside the dining area and the one that is cutting the steaks table side explaining the different meat sections. Again we thank you for this unforgettable memories. Many thanks to Carameltrail.com for making this happen and arranging all lodging including high speed train and all private car services all over Spain and Portugal. We would more photos but there too many posted and youtube will show more details.

Very nice restaurant and definitely an interesting experience. Being from the Midwest USA (prime…read moremeat country) it would be difficult for me to call this the best steak restaurant in the world and overall quite frankly was a little disappointed. We participated in the tour of the farm, which was fun and quirky. Seeing the aging bodega was cool and understanding the traditions of this particular region really interesting. When we arrived for seating it was a bit of a slapstick comedy as we were circled up and down several sets of stairs, in and out of several rooms, as we were handed off from one person to another. Our server was very pleasant, but did little to describe what was being presented to us through the multiple courses and quickly disappeared once the plate was on the table. Trying to get water was a little bit of a challenge too, despite making it clear this was important to our group. The cave seating and ambiance was really a fun experience. The wine selection focuses on specialized regional / Spanish; wine pairings are not available. The amuse bouse was wonderful and set the bar high for courses yet to come. The cured / aged meats were excellent but the steak selection was flavorful but very chewy and not anywhere near the best of our experience. A good Leon local destination experience but not a culinary experience of a highly touted steak restaurant for the quality received (both food and service) at the high price point.
