Our experience with Gulf Pointe Properties was stressful and unprofessional. We used two realtors…read more SB was the first realtor and was extremely passive with poor communication. NM was the second and didn't have the knowledge or professionalism to sell our home. Both realtors let multiple potential buyers walk out and slip away. They blamed everything on ancillary reasons and lacked responsibility. At the end of our contract NM threatened us and stated she wouldn't let us out of the contract unless we kept her on as our buyer's realtor because she wanted that money in her pocket. We had to contact the owner to rectify this but to say we were very upset is an understatement. NM placed blame on us and made the situation all about her and her needs as a failing realtor who needed the money. In the end we connected with a reputable company and sold our house with them right away. Couldn't recommend GPP to family, friends, or strangers. Beware!

DeeAnn DeCastris is incredibly rude and inattentive and to say that she's unreliable would be a major understatement. Whenever there was an issue with the house she would rudely communicate over text and place blame on us. It got so bad that after a while I stopped bringing things up entirely. The worst came after we checked out. She told me that I should receive the security deposit back in the mail within 15 business days. By this point I knew she was extremely unreliable and that I would have to remind her. Sure enough the time came and went and no deposit. I messaged her and as always she never admitted fault or apologized and tried to spin it around by saying I misunderstood and that she never said it would arrive in 15 business days. I then screenshoted her the text message of her saying it and rather than apologizing she screamed at me. Then she said it will be mailed in a few days, I stressed to her that I was staying at a temporary Airbnb in Texas and that it's urgent that I receive it before the end of the month as I'll lose access to the mailbox otherwise. The next day came and no check was sent out, I messaged her again and stressed the urgency. She then responds if I can come pick up the check form their office in Estero in the morning. This is after I spent countless times telling her that I was in ANOTHER state. It's as if she doesn't listen at all or has some sort of learning disability! Eventually she sent the check but only after I had threatened to contact her manager. If you have the unfortunate luck of getting DeeAnn DesCastris as your property manager I would ask for someone else, or this business isn't worth dealing with for your own sanity!

I was asked for my email address the day before closing, so I provided the same email address that they were using the entire time. The videos they automatically sent were annoying. The cheesy videos would say standard things like "We are working very hard on your closing," just to receive a call the next day asking for my mortgage information which was provided to them weeks before. It seemed as though the people within the office did not communicate effectively with each other and the appearance of being disorganized was evident. I would recommend you go someplace else and spare the buyer and the seller the $495 closing fee.

Total nightmare experience. I called him over to discuss listing house for sale and to discuss both…read moremy husbands and my own debilitating health issues and that we wanted someone who would walk us through the process and explain what needs explaining. Well, that never happened. As a matter of fact, no open house, no signs until I begged for them, and nobody but 1 person ever saw my house. In the hottest market in years where houses were being bidded up, he put what we thought was a low price, and took an even lower offer. Emailed me contract with urging to quickly sign, nothing else. Fortunately I found in there that I was agreeing to finance $100k, never agreed or discussed that. I declined offer. He immediately comes back with another, same buyer, cash he says. Not qualified, he takes $5k, refundable deposit on $550k cash deal. Contract said I had to get out by closing, after consulting with RE attorney later find out closings don't happen all the time and he should have strongly advised against it but no he doesn't. Mover hired, out looking at other properties to buy, inches from committing, and I get a text from his assistant asking for an extension for $10k second earnest money down!?! this is supposed to be a $550k cash deal, buyer doesn't even have $10k, and I am buying another house and moving out?!? No deal. After too much insanity I ask to end our listing, the one that says $0 cancellations fee. Now, he is fully aware that I just had a major surgery, told everyone to let me recover. Totally incapacitated, on my. back, he starts texting me and wanting to talk!! In so much pain I can barely move, he refused to end listing agreement or raise price. UNLESS I send a check for $5k, made out to him personally and mailed it to his house. I had absolutely no way to get to an attorney and he knew this. I wrote the check in a terribly painful and now stressed out way just to get my house out of his slimy hands. Nightmare is a good word. Now recovered, I have to pursue my money and file complaints with DPBR. Just FYI, I would strongly suggest going elsewhere for a realtor. This man cares nothing about praying on sick disabled people and causing great harm. And holding you up for money doing it. STAY AWAY!
