It's a busy place...and rightly so. Baguette, bread, savoury snacks and sandwiches, cakes, sweets, patisserie, macarons etc. We tried lots of different items here. Lots of small mini-cakes/patisserie, tartelettes, savoury snacks and sandwiches (there was item with onion, that was amazing), the macarons in so many different flavours and colours. And you know what? They really know what they're doing here. Perfectly prepared, homemade baked goods. Good prices, nice staff/owners. Stopped here every day and also came the day we left to bring some macarons with. Highly recommended!

They also overcharge quite a lot and it cost us €26 for 8! Had better ones at Pierre Hermé. Vanilla - Simple and delicious! Would have loved to save this one for the end to end on the best note. Rose - really really good! Flavor was nice and perfect amount of sweetness. Probably my favorite among them all. Pistachio - I usually always love a pistachio macaron but this one was just normal. No wow factor or anything. Raspberry - I had High hopes for this one but the filling was like a raspberry jam and didn't go too well with the macaron shell. A bit too overpowering. Orange Blossom - subtle but delicious. Not too strong of an orange flavor, but it was really nice overall. Lemon - horrible! It was actually bitter like lemon zest. I needed water to wash down my mouth after this. Passion fruit - too tangy. It was possible but I would not buy this.

I had tried macaroons in France and in the US, but I had never been impressed. The macaroon from la Maison du Chocolat was so light and just melted in my mouth, "lighter than the air" as they say.
