I was told to top off power steering fluid, something which I can purchase from Auto Zone. When I went there the staff was nice to find me the right fluid for my car. He was being overly helpful by popping the car hood and tried to show me where I can pour the fluid; but at the same time indicated that it's best to have NTB help top off. This young staff member did not give me his name nor did I see a name tag but he was great! He stayed with me the whole time and gave me the needed space and time to look at everything, answered any and all questions I had, and gave me his personal recommendations. He explained how their shelving system worked and asked questions to get to know the person I was buying for. I can tell he was a people person and knew how to do his job. In the end, I settled on a 3-in-1 cleaning mitt (his recommendation, of course!), a small car freshener spray that was actually their signature scent (used to be called Stripper Scent but had changed to something more appropriate like the Smell of Success or something like that - lol!!), and a gift card. So after he rang me up, we went outside and he used his handy dandy scanner to check and see what was causing the check engine light to be on. As I was calling around to find a place that offered same-day car inspections, I was pleasantly…read moresurprised that 17th Street Automotive offered scheduled appointments for inspections with same-day service. Normally with car inspections, I have to drop my car off at an auto-body shop and pick it up the next day due to the "first come, first serve" policy but I didn't have that option so I booked an appointment with 17th Street Automotive for the same day. As soon as I walked into the office, I was happily greeted by Kristen and another worker. They both were extremely pleasant and personable. I was quoted a service time of about an hour and a half and was offered beverages while I wait, which was a very nice gesture. My state inspection was completed after an hour and a half, just as they quoted me. Kristen was very informative with the things they found during the inspection and with how amazing their customer service was, I would definitely return to get my car serviced with them. I was given a free car freshener once the service was complete and told them I would tell everyone I knew about the exceptional experience I had with their business. If you are looking for same-day inspections or in need of any car services, I highly recommend checking out 17th Street Automotive.

Completely unacceptable, frustrating experience…read more I paid $1,338 for front brakes and calipers, and within six months I was still having braking issues. When I returned, they replaced only one front rotor under warranty. After a third visit for the same braking noise/vibration, I was told the problem was my rear brakes, even though those had been replaced only three months earlier at another shop. I then went to three independent shops, and all confirmed the real issue was a warped front rotor (the one not replaced the second time I brought it in). This should've been fixed the second or third time I brought it in. Instead they shifted blame to another shop, in which their work was confirmed to be fine. And for the price I paid, I shouldn't have had to bring it in multiple times for the same issue. Still after three visits and over $1,300 spent, my issue was still not properly fixed. The only good thing about this experience was that it was under warranty, and another shop was able to fix my brakes properly. I would strongly recommend getting a second opinion before trusting this shop, and if possible save your time and go elsewhere.
