About a week before going to O'reilly Auto Parts, I'd had an oil change and the technician noticed…read morethat my car battery had some excess corrosion and suggested that I get it replaced to avoid any issues with it in the future. Taking his advice, I went to O'reilly to have the old battery replaced. The next day, I went to start my car to go to work and it absolutely would not start. I called O'reilly and spoke to a manager whom I told that I had just been into the store the day before to have my car battery replaced and that now my vehicle wouldn't start. He accused me of having a faulty alternator, because heaven forbid their installation tech had made a mistake. I told this manager that I was fairly certain that it had to do with the newly installed batter because I had not had any issues with my vehicle prior to taking it to O'reilly and the battery replacement was the only thing that differed. He basically called me a liar and insisted that the vehicle had problems before and that I was trying to scam him. Fortunately I have a close friend who is a mechanic and I asked her to come and look at the vehicle. It only took her 30 seconds to discover that the O'reilly technician who had installed the battery failed to securely connect the battery terminal to the starter and alternator cables. All it took to get my car running beautifully again was to tighten the bolt on the terminal to make sure the connection was secure and the circuit was complete. I called O'reilly back to let them know what the issue had been and how it had been resolved and no one uttered so much as a single word of apology for the way I had been treated before. I will gladly take my business elsewhere from now on.
