Then took her another 20 minutes to enter mine. It was a battle, apparently, the VIN number for my Mitsubishi says it's really a Dodge Caravan, no, wait, it's a PT Cruiser, no wait... After finally getting entered in I get all the standard questions. One of these questions was if I wanted the old tire, or if I wanted to pay $1.50 for recycling fee. I stated that I wanted the old one. Got charged the fee anyway, and they tried to keep the tire. (Didn't notice until I got home, had to make a trip back up to get it later). Went to pay for it after completion, and total was $24 and some change. I said that couldn't be right, and went to see if they even put a new tire on. Went back in and integrity took over. Told them that they were not charging me for the tire, they looked at the ticket confused, saw there was no tire on there, then took 30 minutes trying to figure out how to charge me for the tire. Add: Tire was not balanced correctly, had to take it to Auto Center in Kaufman. Where I was informed that it was out of balance, and that a .25 weight was used instead of the needed 2.5.

Poor communication from the top down. I spoke with Justen in late October 2024 regarding some…read moremotor work on an 82 F100 and was given a quote. At that time, I paid my $278 deposit to get on the wait list and was told, by Justen, that it wouldn't be a problem getting me in before the end of the year. I was assured that communication was key for S&S and I would be updated every step of the way. I reached back out to Lori mid-November and was told that they would reach back out to me to schedule a day to bring my vehicle in after Thanksgiving. It has now been 3 months without hearing a word from anyone at S&S until I reached back out in late February 2025. I requested a deposit refund as no work has been done by S&S at this time- and note that they do not have the vehicle in their possession- or any real time frame of when they will request to have it brought in. Justen reached out to me on 2/21 and basically said sorry- we WILL NOT refund your deposit even though no work or diagnoses has been done to my vehicle. So in my opinion they basically take your deposit money, blow you off, then say "No- we do not refund deposits"- even though its not affecting their schedule and they leave you in a "waiting" mode with no communication. Horrible customer service!!

I came in here one evening needing my car battery jump-started. They even have a portable jump-starter machine that is well-charged, but they had to wait until their delivery driver arrived (so one person would not be manning the store alone) in order for anyone to be allowed to leave to help me. (My car was about 100 yards away, in the Dollar General parking lot.) I went to another location to see if they had any portable jump-starters while waiting for the delivery driver to arrive. Once he came, one of the other staff members was able to jump-start my car battery within 5 minutes. I was also able to make it to see a movie in Athens, just in time as the previews were wrapping up. If I have any future car needs & am in the neighborhood, I would definitely come here again!
