Paid up front for Elite Plus coverage on my F150. First problem was a fix by the Ford dealer and AutoPom did not cover their per hour cost, I was out of pocket over $400 on a covered repair. Three years later I had another repair and went to a local shop with a lower per hour fee. AutoPom forced them to use not factory parts which made for a poor repair. The Autopom policy looked really good when I purchased it.. One thing that was not clear was labor costs and costs of parts are limited.. This is not transparent in the policy fine print... My BMW X3 was at the dealership for an issue. I found out that maximum payout for Autopom was $160 an our for labor and $110 for the part.. The Dealerership wanted $265 an hour for the labor and $250 for the part... So $245 came out of my pocket to cover what the Autopom policy would pay for labor and parts.. Autopom uses a statistical average to use as a labor and parts price guide.. The Statisitcs and data come from an independent research company that they probably own or have some type of mutual relationship with.. The data on average labor and parts costs is nowhere close to actual values as of September 2024.. As a result be prepared to pay out of pocket for part of labor costs and parts costs.. I'm lucky there was only an hour of labor on my car.. If there had been several hours and more parts involved I could have been out of Thousands of dollars.. Beware!! Don't get stuck like I did.. Once you are stuck at the dealership, you may be forced to pay a big diagnostic fee, even if you don't have the work done. I learned something the hard way, hope this info helps someone else read more

That was perhaps the most man-splaining encounter I have ever had regarding a product. I'm truly amazed that the agent that called me to give me a quote can get any customers with the sheer level of patronizing, talking-down sales pitch that I received. And if he is any indication of what this company is about... wow. A radiator hose goes to the engine!?! An ECM is the "car's brain?!?" Oh, my poor little girl-brain. When I explained I had experience as an auto technician, specializing in electronic diagnosis he challenged me! That jerk actually asked me where. And not in a curious, how cool is that kind of way. I called him out on his presumptive behavior (seriously, I might not be a dude, but the auto industry wasn't exclusively male in the 90's and it's surely not now either.) He didn't apologize. He didn't correct himself. He asked me to hold. Yeah. No. He also never gave me the quote despite asking for the numbers multiple times. Ugh. read more

They are the worst warranty company i have ever dealt with. I took my dodge charger in to the shop to get the water pump checked out because it was make a loud squealing noise..turns out the bearings were bad and the water pump needed to be replaced ..autopom sent a inspector to the shop and he determined that is was a bad seal so thats all they will pay to replace. Even tho the shop showed him the bad pulley bearing he said it still works so they won't replace it..wow I have never heard of that if the water pump goes out while I'm driving I risk more damage to the motor. That they probably won't pay to fix eithe.. Update i spoke with autopom owner and he helped resolve the issue it was just a big misunderstanding on my part. car is fixed and running well..thanks autopom read more

Requested a quote on Jun/20/2019. received a quote from Colgan on Jun/21. Responded to e-mail, with questions/concerns - no response. Another follow-up e-mail, after 2 weeks - no response. Called back another week later, left VM, no call back. If this is the Sales Time customer experience, then I can only imagine how the post sales, service experience would be. At the same time, getting a quote from GWC, and the sales rep has been following-up every 3rd day, speaking with me at length, answering my questions, researching, providing me with options. Purchased a new to us car the other day and then called for extended warranty quotes. Alexis at Autopom, provided excellent, friendly and professional service. I decided to get a Mercury Ultimate extended warranty since I know the company and the cost and coverage were perfect for me. I'd called another company (one I'd used before) but got rude and aggressive hard sell, which was the exact opposite of the helpful low key quote from Autopom. I had hoped a few months of waiting would allow a cooler head to prevail, but the longer it's been, the more this situation has rubbed me the wrong way. to autopom's credit, yes, they did issue me a full refund....but then again, they did *nothing* for me. I didn't ask for a tow. I didn't ask for a rental car. I did EXACTLY what the contact stated to do when the check engine light came on the idea that adding "coolant to coolant" is somehow some sort of 'contamination' is dazzling to no end. I drove the car for over 10,000 miles since owning it. at just over 100K, it should have ran for another 100K miles, no problem the most recent oil change indicated no coolant problem, and I find it hard to believe that in 4 months time it turned from coolant to peanut butter (I'd driven it for 9 months prior to that), especially since it was never low, I never topped it off. instead, to reiterate what I said initially....when a $26K+ bill came due, due to this problem my shop spent a month investigating, *only* $900 was "covered" that's less than 4%!!!!! I find it hard to believe that over 95% of the damage was caused by coolant in a car with just over 100K miles....especially since only 13K of it was related to the engine...the rest was related to axles and other non-engine items. less than 8% of that damage would have been covered if you removed the engine issues!!! now, would I have ever expected that $26K would have been paid? heck no, but an ethical company (Omega) and 3rd party seller (autopom) would have realized how messed up this situation was for everyone involved (as Mike admits, this is the *first* time an exclusion like this happened). totaled out the vehicle, and I'd have had $4700 (the middle of the then-book value, no idea what a Dodge Journey with 104K miles is going for now) to go find an alternate vehicle AND my praises about autopom! would have been sung far and wide AND they'd have made a customer for life. instead, it's patently obvious (at least to me) how what they say will happen after that light comes on....it most definitely isn't what's going to happen!!! Omega, the company that was actually is responsible for claims in my instance, I've never dealt with more difficult, unfriendly and inconsiderate customer service agents in my life. and once I talked to Alan's (the Omega agent assigned to my claim) supervisor, I kinda understand why that is. longer story short: there are enough exclusions and exceptions to the contract, that 90% of folks who purchase this kind of insurance are gonna be in the same boat I found myself in. that being: no car and no help. heck, the autopom agent (Edward) that sold me the policy wasn't even there 8 months later when I filed my claim (another reason I was given why no one from autopom got back to me in the weeks between the car being dropped off and the diagnosis of the problem) besides that, in my experience, it's clear the agents aren't there to help you...they're there to find out how to get out of paying a claim that you'd expect would be covered....as Omega, again, told me I was denied due to "seal and gasket failure"....yet NONE of my seals or gaskets failed. there was NO mechanical failure a con job and a snow job combined my experience was....and in the future I will tell people to stay away from these kind of false promises should they ever be on the fence. do with that what you will. read more

I am so impressed with this company! I haven't seen great customer service like this in a very long time! From the beginning, Trevor who is in charge of sales was very helpful, informative and seemed more interested in helping me then pushing a sale. So refreshing. Then, the first time I needed to use the car warranty there was some differences in pricing and Colgan in customer service went to bat for me and contacted Royal who I had my policy with. They were always so helpful and did a daily check in with both sides trying to negotiate a better deal. I was so appreciative, but then when we couldn't get much movement the owner Mike actually took it upon himself and called the supervisor and did some great negotiations. He was able to successfully negotiate a win for me! The adjuster actually told me that it was Mike's great negotiating skills and the way he presented it that made all the difference! I've purchased many service contracts over the years, most of which turned out to be total garbage. For my last two vehicles, a Mercedes SL63 and a BMW 750Li, I did a lot more research. Found that Service contracts are crap unless they are insurance backed. Researched and found AutoPom which was the first vendor I EVER worked with that did not pressure me into buying or try to up-sell. Worked with Taylor from the start - extremely knowledgable about the industry and providers within. I'm not writing this because of my buying experience with them, because a buying experience can be great at many places. It's everything that happens after that can be good/bad. I ended up selling the Mercedes and when I called for a pro-rated refund - it was incredibly easy. Taylor handled the entire process from start to finish and had a check delivered to me within a week. I honestly though it would be a struggle to get the proration of the warranty back - VERY IMPRESSIVE GUYS! In the process of getting a contract on my new BMW M5 Comp. Package. Cant recommend Taylor and AutoPom enough. read more

I have 2007 Mercedes E320 Blutec, purchased warranty from POM which is agent for Mercury insurance, even I was charged premium price $4885.85 for 3 years 36,000 miles most of costly repairs. Specific repair that was not covered was oil leak from oil cooler which is most common and most expensive repair on BLUTEC Mercedes, my bill was $3700, Mercury refused to pay. Also on previous calms I had a lot of denial so I don't recommend POM of Mercury Insurance for car warranties, I have canceled my policy since then , my policy # was 100000142636WEB read more

I loved this contract when I bought it. Now comes claim time. The Porsche dealer and CarGuard Admin Inc. are @ $2000 vs $700 on a simple thermostat, water pump seal/pully repair. Seems Cargaurd uses one supplier and one repair estimator and the sticks to there guns on those black box estimates. Can't ever see paying for one of these contracts again if this is the reimbursement rate on necessary repairs. read more

Update from my 10/10/2017 review.......There was a minor kerfuffle when I filed a repair claim with CarGuard, the administrator that oversees my AutoPom contract. It had to do with CarGuard not approving OEM repair parts and using their less expensive, preferred vendor parts. I paid the difference because I thought it would be best....and my repair shop thought so, also. I let Michael Jones of AutoPom know what had transpired...and he promptly offered to send me a check to partially help out...and it arrived today. A man of his word...... So....I do recommend AutoPom again. They sell 3-4 more service contracts from other companies, so you might ask about this, rather than go directly to CarGuard contract. I have an auto warranty plan from Autopom. As listed as being covered is the AC Compressor. My Mini Cooper's AC went out and my mechanic said I needed a new compressor. Autopom sent an adjuster to verify and said the problem with the AC is a bad compressor clutch. My mechanic said the clutch is part of the compressor, literally, it's welded into the unit. The clutch is not removable, and is not purchasable as a separate item. To replace the compressor clutch means replacing the compressor. I contacted a Mini Cooper authorized service for a second opinion and they confirmed what my mechanic told me. Autopom is denying coverage. read more

Purchased a warranty with these guys and everything went smooth until it was time to file a claim. Then fingers started pointing in different directions just so they don't have to pay the claim. Autopom! says take it with CarGuard (a third party that I didn't have a contract with. Autopom did). CarGuard says they only administer claim.. I ended up stuck with the bill. You buy a coverage and you think you protected. Not sure if there's something better than these guys but Autopom is buying yourself extra problems. Read Better Business Bureau review for complete explanation of their scam. Car fax and investigation only after you file a claim. If you don't file a claim they will take your money until your coverage expires. God knows how many "ineligible" clients they collecting money from right now.. hundred of thousands. I had nothing to do with mileage rollback. That happened in 2009 and I purchased this vehicle in 2017. As a matter of fact Lard Rover is still checking what happened. It could easily be someone at the service department had entered the wrong miles. But Autopom didn't wait for the outcome. They canceled as quick as they could so they don't have to pay for the repair.. you want honest business practices? Do the Carfax and inspection upon the purchase of the policy, not when the claim is filed. That way if a car is not eligible client knows right away and not give you money you don't deserve! $20 for a Carfax and you told me it was too expensive to do it upfront. $3,000 you were to collect from me if I had never filed a claim. I think I know the real reason why you don't do it upfront instead of then the claim is filed. Greedy, not honest money, is what I'd define Autopom! & CarGuard. read more

extended warranties has always been a sketchy type of warranty.I thought Autopom/ Mercury Insurance was one of the more reputable. I was told purchasing the platinum policy would cover anything but wear and tear items on the vehicle. When you read the policy more closely you realize what few items it really does cover. It does not cover anything related to airbag or electrical components relating to any restraint system, anything related to rust corrosion, oxidation, non mechanical, non electrical non pneumatic or non hydraulic components and the list goes on and on. My husband and I signed up both of our vehicles with this warranty company in December. First I think they may us one of those companies that help you delete negative reviews because after the way they just handled our claim I am amazed that this company has the high reviews that are shown. We, in part, made our decision to sign up with them as oppose to another company, based on reviews that we'd read. DON"T WASTE YOUR MONEY! I was told by my repair company that they denied my claim and made an excuse that the issue was pre-existing. My vehicle has been driven over a thousand miles with no issue since I purchased this warranty. It began to hesitate. I took it in and was told my timing belt was stretched. I spoke with a customer service rep for the company that used phrases like it "could have been preexisting" he said it "usually takes at least one thousand miles for an issue like this to occur" however when we signed up we had to report the mileage and my vehicle has been driven over 1300 miles since we signed up! Also, I called various service departments at well known car dealerships in the area. I've spoken with master mechanics etc... who all said this is a crock of bull and is an assumption. Also, all of the research I've done online states the contrary. It's one thing if this were true but to try to get out of paying the claim by stating that this could have been preexisting leads me to believe that this company is a SCAM. When dealing with a vehicle this statement could almost be used for anything. Unless you take your car apart and examine every piece before signing up anything could be said to be pre-existing. We've paid over 7,000 for two warranties for nothing but an unethical company who is in the business of taking money and selling warranties but not covering you if you actually have a problem! SAVE YOUR MONEY... DO NOT BUY A WARRANTY FROM THIS COMPANY. I asked to speak with a supervisor and was told that she was busy and would have to call me back later. I spoke with them at 9 am this morning. No call back all day while I am without a vehicle. It doesn't seem like customers matter. I asked the rep for the corporate info and was told they are just one stand alone company. I asked about the owner, higher level manager etc... he said he couldn't give me any information and I just had to wait for a supervisor to call me which never happened. read more

Don't buy a car warranty policy through autopom. For starters they are not an car warranty company but a wholesaler who sells other people policies. I was unfortunate to get CarGuard Administration. I bought the policy 3 months ago and surpassed their waiting period. I went into the dealership for the normal oil change and they said the oil filter housing gasket needed replacement. Since there was oil and dirt on the gasket they considered it pre-existing and denied the claim. I had the car into the dealership 2 in the past 6 months for maintenance items without any comment on the oil gasket issue. The policy is junk and they will take 4 days to send someone out just to reject claims. You are better off keeping your money for real repairs. read more

This is an update after I have had time to cool off and really think about the issues I have had with my extended warranty purchased through Autopom, Autopom isn't the issue in my point of view. It's the warranty company they represent, Enterprise Financial Group (EFG). Autopom only sells the extended warranty policy. I had my policy for about 3 months. I am in all terms a car nut. I keep up with all scheduled maintenance and take extra care of my vehicles. Unfortunately, I had a fuel pump issue. My policy clearly stated that my fuel pump was covered. However, after my shop called in the claim, EFG (warranty company) decided to interrupt their own possible cause to my fuel pump failure and denied my claim. They "determine" that a 2" canister caused my fuel pump to fail. They didn't even send out an inspector after I called to explained to them what the issue was. So I am out of pocket over $1000. Your best option is to go to your dealership and ask them what 3rd party warranty company they have had success with. You will save time and money. I was able to basically get a bumper-to-bumper warranty factory warranty for $1300 less. In summary, Lisa Deneault, my Autopom Rep, and Mike Jones, Owner of Autopom, went above and beyond to try to help me resolve my issue. I would definitely recommend Autopom's representation to anyone. Unfortunately, EFG still denied my claim. I in-turn cancel my policy and awaiting my refund. read more

After posting my review Autopom contacted me to offer assistance with dealing with the insurance policy holder. Genuine concern over my satisfaction was conveyed. Autopom interceded with the policy holder and I believe their assistance help me improve the value of my settlement. Autopom also offered to help me change insurance carrier if I desired. At the end of the day I still paid more out of pocket to satisfactorily resolve my problems than I think I should have had to, but clearly Autopom took an active assertive role is helping me. read more

I purchased the extended warranty for my 2007 BMW 5 series in 2012. I paid in full the 3800.00. I did have one claim and it was handled through the local BMW dealer with no issues. However I sold the car and on April 25 2013 was told "The refund check for unused portion was in the mail". Well here we are 19 days later with still no check. It took less than a minute to take the funds but now 19 days and still no refund. I have contacted the guy in charge of refunds and was told after 30 days they will stop payment and reissue a check. I may be wrong but feel 19 days is plenty of time for the mail to be delivered. My son is in the Air Force in Japan and it takes just over a week for a package to be delivered to him, half way around the world. A great company until you want a refund then... Well the jury is still out. read more
