My check engine light came on in my truck. I took it to get a diagnostic scan done, and luckily, it showed I only needed a sparkplug replaced. When I took my truck to get the sparkplug replaced, they could not get to my truck for a week. Uugh! I know you aren't supposed to drive your vehicle when the check engine light is on, so instead of continuing to drive around to find a business to help me out, I drove home to do my searching on the internet. I know they say replacing a spark plug is pretty easy, but being a 55-year-old female, this is not in my wheelhouse. So, after doing some research, I went with RepairSmith. Best decision ever! I didn't have to risk causing any damage to my truck by driving it anywhere or it breaking down somewhere. I just parked it in my driveway, and the very next day, they were able to come out and fix it. The technician was also able to do a more thorough scan and ensure what mechanical issue was occurring with the truck. In the process of making the repair, a small hose broke. The technician had to order a new part and was back the very next day and fixed it within 10 minutes. All of this was done while I was able to be in my house getting things done. Another bonus is the fact that they could have even come to my work to do the repair as well. Yes, I might have had to pay a little bit more for this convenience, but it is more than worth it for me. I will 100% be calling RepairSmith again for any auto issues; as well as recommending them to everyone I know. read more

I had routine oil change done at the Honda dealership and it was recommended to change my serpentine belt as part of scheduled maintenance. The belt was not in horrible shape yet but was already starting to wear so I checked with Repairsmith to get another quote instead of paying inflated dealership prices. Quote was acceptable and was able to make an appointment for the following morning (10am-12pm). Received a text 15 min before appointment time that tech was on the way and Frank arrived at my house 5 min early. He performed a multi point inspection and everything checked out and he changed out the drive belt in less than 30 minutes and was done by 10:30. I paid exactly what the quote said and the work is covered by 12k/12mo warranty. Would definitely consider using them again! Update 7/6/23: I need to update this review to downgrade to two stars as just over a week after this service I noticed my car was making and odd noise when I turned the steering wheel left and the noise was coming from the front passenger tire. I thought I might have hit something so went to my tire shop to have them look at it and they said the tire had not been mounted properly. The Repairsmith tech had removed the tire to replace my drive belt and did not align it correctly when he put it back on. I was fortunate to discover it before it caused major damage or got in an accident. I'm pretty disappointed and can no longer recommend their service. read more

Rescheduled for upcoming Wednesday and took off of work. Again, no call, no show, and now I'm on the last day of my Carvana warranty. I was told he was with another customer ALL DAY. I noticed smoke from my engine. Couldn't see what the issue was directly, but there was a squeal during acceleration. Called in Repair Smith for a diagnostic. $169. Ok. He checks the car out and says the engine needs a complete cleaning before he can diagnose the problem. Wtf? $247 they want to charge me to clean the engine and then he can diagnose the problem. That would be over $400 for a diagnostic at that point. Without even repairing the problem. Multiple service calls and an engine cleaning, without repair. Avoid this situation - take your car to a shop. They will diagnose the car (and not charge you separate for that) and fix your problem without telling you you need to have the engine cleaned before they can figure out the problem. SMH read more

We had someone come by to replace our alternator today and completed the job but with some issues. Mechanic didn't do a complete check at the end and told us to drain the coolant for some odd reason because it was leaking after he left. After draining the coolant and adding new coolant in, it still continues to leak and we were given instructions over the phone to tighten it. Cap switch broke and now the mechanic is telling us that we need to have a radiator change. Mechanic did not do a complete check at the end of the service and only gave us instruction over the phone after leaving only to have an additional problem occur. Update: It's been 5 days since sending our info to the RepairSmith and no response yet from anyone. I do not recommend this company for their lack of response and for causing additional problems to our vehicle. We have to go to another mechanic for repairs which will be a whole new cost on top of paying RepairSmith. Pros: Jordan, the mechanic who came out, did the work great. They had the parts I needed. They come out wearing uniforms, masks and are appropriate. He was ultra professional, was friendly, explained everything, and was kind. The part was exactly what the car needed. He provided a list of other optional repairs I could do if I wished to, along with photographs for reference, and emailed it to me. Cons: Truthfully, he was late but, he did text me as to why and it was a traffic jam. The app didn't recognize my mobile number when I first was trying to book an appointment, so I had to ultimately call them in order to get the appointment booked. My car wouldn't start when I hopped in to go to work. After a lot of freaking out and Googling and comparing online quotes, I booked an appointment with these guys. They had several windows of availability to choose from, including some for the same morning. They did push my appointment window back by an hour after booking the appointment, but to their credit, they updated my appointment tracker when that happened. Also, my estimated total went up by $80 after booking. The actual service was great! Lucas kept me up to date on his ETA, and he took excellent care of my car. He was friendly, personable, trustworthy, and explained every step of the repair to me while still working quickly. He also adjusted my total to account for the services that didn't apply. From trying to start a dead car to being safely on the road was only 3 hours, and I didn't have to stress about getting a tow scheduled or anything! My car's check engine light came on and started shuttering. We had it happen in the past and thought it was the spark plugs again. A friend of ours had a reader machine that said the 1st piston was misfiring. I put the code and description in the questionnaire when scheduling my appointment. Day of my appointment I got texts telling me my appointment was canceled and then rescheduled for a different time, this happened 5 times Where the appointment was canceled and then rescheduled. Then the technician called and said he was on his way even though the last text I got said they wouldn't be here for another 2 hours. The technician asked me about what was going on, again mentioned everything from the first paragraph and he said it might be my coils. He got to work and a little while later showed me a coil covered in oil and said it probably failed, but that he didn't have coils on him to fix it. He changed the spark plugs and told me I owed more than what I was quoted when I made the appointment. He also told me that 3 more of the coils had oil on them, so he just wiped them off. He mentioned that I might need a new engine but couldn't know why oil was on the coils without doing a diagnostic test, which would be another $250, and would have to schedule for another time. He said that as of right now the car is running fine, but something's going on to cause oil to be in the coils. I'm so frustrated that I was charged over $400 to replace spark plugs when that may not even be a real fix to my problem and didn't have the courtesy to recommend doing a diagnostic test once he knew something was going on that was causing other problems than it just being the spark plugs. Definitely feeling taken advantage of and would not recommend this place to anyone. read more

It sounds like someone just thought they could get me to buy more. RepairSmith felt bad and gave me a free coupon for an oil change next time. I appreciate it - I've had REAL ISSUES with the mechanics here in Austin trying to sell me stuff I don't need, so it's nice to see someone apologize for a shady employee.
