There's good customer service, great customer service, and then there is the "Ulysses Tarango from Autoland" experience. I was in the market for a new vehicle and as with any huge purchase, I was dreading the lackluster offers that were going to be given to me. I went into a dealership looking for a new Honda Accord EXL, and after a couple of minutes, the salesman had me at their desk talking number on a used Honda Accord Sport. Not only that, there were selling me a used vehicle close to 10K above sticker and claiming, "It's market price". Even if that were true, they were trying to sell me a car I did not ask for. I visited a couple of other dealerships and it only resulted in much of the same. I was fed up and was seriously discouraged by the aggressiveness of the sales folk. I felt I was not being heard, and they were just trying to make a sale. I made the decision that I did not want to deal with that anymore. As a School's First Credit Union member, I learned I could get a consultant to help me with the car buying process; free of charge for members! When I first spoke with Ulysses, I was a little intimidated because he had the same serious stance as many of the dealerships. The only difference is that Ulysses was on my team! He told me about his experience selling cars and how he brokers deals with dealerships. He took the time to explain his experience and his process and I appreciated being on the other side of that assertiveness for once. We talked, he listened and was absolutely transparent about my selection. He explained that the car I wanted was in short supply, but if it was out there, he could find it. We got off the phone and I was feeling hopeful. i was prepared to wait a few days before he got back to me with information. It wasn't more than 2 hours when he called me back and said, "I have some good news". I couldn't believe it. I was admittedly excited that he found what I was looking for in such a short time. Still, I was hesitant to get too excited because he still had not mentioned sticker price or payment. When he broke down the charges for the car and gave me an estimate on monthly payments, I let out a loud, "WHAT?!?!" Not only did he find the car, but the monthly payment came out to several hundred dollars less than what the initial dealership was charging me for a used car that was not the trim I wanted. I knew then and there I was in good hands. Ulysses was thorough in his work, kept me informed through the entire process and gave me an estimate as to when it would all be done. From my initial interaction with Ulysses to the day I drove off the lot was exactly 1 week! I am so happy i worked with Ulysses from Autoland and never in my life could I think that a car buying experience could be so pleasant. I am thrilled with my investment, and I am happy I worked with a professional like Ulysses. Mr. Tarango, if you are reading this... I want to publicly acknowledge and thank you. Autoland offered one of the best car shopping experiences I have ever had in my life. To start, I wanted a very specific vehicle : 2020 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Sahara ( North Edition ) in a specific shade of gray. I was helped by Jeremy Robertson, he immediately assured me that he would work on finding my vehicle. Sure enough, in matter of 2 days he found it, I was surprised that it was being purchased from a dealership in L.A given that I live in San Jose. Jeremy coordinated the transportation and delivery of my vehicle. At no cost to me, at all! The process was so smooth, I never spoke with any dealership or set foot in a dealership. In fact Jeremy and I communicated through text, I expressed what I needed and he took care of the rest. I was disappointed that my credit Union did not offer me a loan based on my immigration status, despite having the credit and assets to back up my loan. However, Jeremy turned around and negotiated a new deal with the dealership directly instead of going through the credit union. I ended up with a better loan offer! And a lower monthly payment! In less than a week I had my vehicle! On the day of pick up, my vehicle had a beautiful bow, it was special! They were so transparent, they explained my contract top to bottom! No hidden offers,deals, anything! It sounded to good to be true, but in the end it was so great! Having never bought a vehicle outside of a person to person purchase, I was a little nervous. I was in the market to buy a used vehicle and never imagined that I would be able to afford a brand new car. Due to my long commute for work I was looking for a preowned Toyota Prius C and was expecting to pay around $19,000-$20,000. My Rep. We had an unfortunate accident in October of 2021. We had to find a new vehicle. The car market was terrible and the vehicle I decided wanted was scare, to say the least. I contacted eight dealers within a hundred mile radius and they were getting this car in ones or two's each month - Maybe. No factory ordering or wait listing was possible. Furthermore all of the dealers were charging a premium of $7,500 to $12,000 over MSRP! Dominantly car buying today is remote contact and there is nothing on the lots but used cars. This is my 2nd time purchasing a car through Autoland. I was such a fan the 1st time that I came around again. My rep. Mark D. worked with me on what I was looking for and was on top of everything. He was very receptive and accessible. It was a reminder why I have recommended to friends and family using a car broker. I also appreciate the close working relationship they have with the credit unions. This makes doing business so easy and seamless. Because of the pandemic, I was able to get my car delivered to my home and then even had my previous vehicle picked up for a trade in.
