The secret address for those who want to feel in control and be treated fairly like a customer, even if you don't understand cars at all (you will NOT be perceived like some purse who will fork out for useless work).
COMMUNICATION
It starts with how friendly and upfront the owner and the deputy are, these ladies for sure communicate transparently. I've been to 3-4 other garages previously since I originally bought my new car, and this garage communicates in the most transparent way, both in terms of work needing to be done and in terms of costs! Here I feel I have contact with the mechanic and not just with some customer care guy who is removed from the work being done or tries to sell. If they want to offer more services, they will nicely suggest it, they never use a sales pitch.
SKILLS
Also, the mechanics are of older age, which is perfect IMO because it means they have more experience, make less mistakes and are more efficient (less time costs charged for non-standard work). Many repair shops don't hire or even fire senior mechanics because costs are higher for the repair shop - in this case, the place seems to be run efficiently so a senior mechanic is not considered an overhead! The result is that they repair things at low cost, and it feels like a better and more ethical work environment.
WARRANTY
And finally, the shop is certified to uphold your original manufacturer's warranty. My car was already outside of warranty when I started coming to this place, but this is a big plus for recently purchased vehicles.
Also, for larger repairs, they ask you the next time how the car is still doing... so they care about their work and the quality!
REPLACEMENT PARTS
Replacement parts, such as windshield wipers or engine oil, cost less here than at other shops or gas stations, at comparable prices to online stores. The owner seems to have no interest in making over-the-top mark-ups.
If they don't have a replacement part on-site, it takes them a day to obtain it (from my own experience).
NO UNNECESSARY WORK
The garage knew that my car was more recent, and they knew I didn't have to do Abgastests anymore, and took off the green circle sticker. No other garage would have missed on an opportunity to make an extra 50-90 bucks every two years.
PRACTICALITY
If you have issues with your car outside of shop hours, you can have it parked in front and throw your key into the keybox. If you need to pick up your car outside of shop hours, the key box will return your personal key when you enter a pre-agreed code. So it's sufficiently practical for those with long office hours.
I was able to show up unannounced for smaller services, and it was taken care of rapidly.
OVERALL...
Not sure if my experience is representative overall, but I would give this garage five of five stars and I really enjoy having my car taken care of here. Absolutely to be recommended.
