I came here because of a SocialShopper deal for an oil change and inspection for $15, an absolute steal for Vancouver! From the moment I walked in the atmosphere was friendly, and I was quickly helped. Despite having an appointment, the garage was short staffed and I was told that the wait would be longer than normal. Totally fine with me, I just wish more places would be honest and tell their customers! The inspection results were thorough and to the point, noting exact measurements and where things were out of line with my car. At no point was I pressured to fix anything or buy into anything more than what I came in for. They even tightened my squeaking steering belt for no extra charge! I can't recommend this place highly enough, it is such a breath of fresh air compared to other garages I've been to. read more

Recently had some work done to my 2002 Jetta TDI. This auto shop had a screaming good deal on a full synthetic oil change. I used to have custom rims on the car and after 12 years some of the thread on the lugs were shredded. I took my car in a 2nd time to get all the problem lugs replaced and they did a fantastic job. I came early and saw them using a blow torch to heat up the lug nuts enough to remove them from the back of the rotors. They do good work at reasonable prices and your car will be well taken care of here. read more

Nothing but great service!!!!! I highly recommend anyone that need their car service to come here. My engine blew, needed a new engine. I brought it in to the shop and they fitted me in with their busy schedule. The lead mechanic found a used engine and swapped it out in a few days. Very reasonable price and honest, called and confirmed the price before starting working on my car. Walked me through the worked that needed to be done on my car. BEST CAR SHOP I'VE BEEN TO!! I was driving by and noticed their steal of a deal on oil changes, so I decided to stop in hoping they would be able to take me as a walk in. The shop was super busy and I was told that I can wait and see if they can get my car done in between appointments. I ended up waiting about 35 mins which was fine. In that time I noticed that the staff actually knew a lot of their customers by name. There were even a few customers that came in and just left their keys with them and said "do whatever you need to, call me once it's finished". What the heck?! I wasn't sure what to make of that. Once my car was on the hoist I noticed the technician checking a few things (didn't know my super cheap oil change included a free safety check!!). Once the technician was finished, the manager came into the waiting room and asked if his technician could show me a few things he found on my car. It turns out that the "repairs" I got done at another shop were not done correctly (mind you this was only 5-6 weeks before). After the service I called my old repair shop and asked them to inspect the repairs they made. They told me it would cost an additional 850 because they found "a lot" of other issues. I told them to forget it. So, I decided to come back to Auto service depot, they showed me exactly what the issues were and made the necessary repairs for only 380!! What a big difference!! These guys are straight to the point and don't try to sell you any unnecessary junk!! I'm so glad I found this shop and really appreciate their honesty and professionalism. Now I understand why other customers just leave their keys and tell them to do whatever is necessary. Honesty goes a long way!! read more

This is long overdue, I had a social shopper for an oil change. It's near my house so I decided why not? I call and ask how early I can bring my car because I have work downtown they said they open at 8:30, I said okay that's a little later than Id hoped but if that's when they open I'll be there on the dot at 8:30 and would need to go to the skytrain right away. He offered to drive me to the skytrain which I thought was actually really nice. I show up at 8:20 just Incase because I usually start at 8:30 but told them ahead of time I'd be a little late. I wait.... Wait.... 8:30...8:40...8:45 ... Some kid shows up and I ask if he works there and he says he's an apprentice but has no keys. In anger I give him my keys, give him my number and say I need to leave. I said I'd try to get there when they closed but because I was now late for work I didn't know if that would happen. I got a call later that day.. I told them about the situation where the guy on the phone simply giggles at the situation and does not apologize. I have all the while continued to stay calm. He goes on about what they did.. He said I'd have to pay a tax fee and there is also an unexpected fee because of something that happened. I said very calmy, given the situation and customer service I received I asked to speak to a manager and see if it could be waived because I didn't think it was fair. He made several excuses that they were open at 9 not 830, then i asked why his store hour sign said otherwise. He then blew up at me and yelled and asked why I was being rude. He went on and on until I gave up and said take my card, charge me whatever you want and I will take my car, he still wouldn't give me my keys or take my money while he went on about how unreasonable I was being. He compared me to a man that threatened him earlier in the day. Again, all I said was he should be mindful of their customer service and all he had to do was own up and apologize. He eventually waivedthe fee, let me leave and for 30min after tried to call me and texted me that he was very sorry bt he had a customer that day who made him angry. You get 2 stars because you apologized and from other reviews I see you seem to do decent work and it was probably a one time incident but.... I'd rather give my service elsewhere. read more

Never go to this store! I came there to do an estimate，they said it was free. But after they had a look，they asked me to leave my information，they would call me when they knew the price and asked me to pay 56 dollars for it! But they even didn't finish the estimate，only had a look for 56 dollars! I refused to pay then several men came and put stones under my wheels, hitting my window, kicking my wheels and saying dirty words. I wouldn't trust these guys with anything more than an oil change. I left my car at the shop and asked them to take a look at my brakes and the "maintenance required" symbol. When I picked up my car the next day my brakes felt the same and the maintenance symbol was still present. In addition, one of the technicians had lost one of my rims and did not replace it. My husband and I own two vehicles (Honda products), and until approximately 3 years ago, were taking them to the dealership when we needed service, etc. A friend of ours told us about Auto Service Depot and recommended we start taking our vehicles there instead of to the dealership. He was right; the dealership is a HUGE ripoff!! As a woman, I often feel like the mechanics are going to tell me what they want me to hear, and I don't often trust them to tell me the truth. My first experience Auto Service Depot was very positive. The owner explained everything that was going to be done on my car, and even showed me the parts that were being replaced, and showed me the reasons for doing so. Recently, my vehicle was ready for the regularly-scheduled tune-up. I was also told that I needed new brakes. I was quoted approximately $700 for both front and rear. Out of curiosity, I called my local dealership who quoted me $1,200 for the same work! Then, I called my brother-in-law who lives on Vancouver Island and is a former mechanic, and he said that what I had been quoted at Auto Service Depot, was in line to what it should be. That's all I needed to know! My husband and I will continue to take our vehicles to Auto Service Depot, for both maintenance and repairs. We don't feel like we are getting ripped off by doing so. Took my car in to have my brake pads replaced about three weeks ago, now usually I do my pads myself but I recently purchased this car and and with it I got all the papers for maintenance so I knew my brakes were recently done. So I had suspicion that something else was going on with them, they charged me $260 and told me there were no other problems other than possibly needing to replace the calipers. Since then my brakes are just as bad as they were when I had brought my car to them , so I decided to bring my car to another mechanic today I asked to have the calipers replaced as I had only thought that was the issue, turns out about an hour after dropping my car off they called and asked me to come in because there were many issues. First issue I have is the wheel bearing is completely shot with one look you can see this , as soon as you take the brake pads off you can visually see this, there is absolutely nothing obstructing your eyes from seeing this problem witch can be extremely dangerous in some situations. Problem number two the steering control arms need to be replaced again extremely dangerous and combined with the two possibly life threatening, now with a couple other things I'm having done spark plugs and an oil change, witch by the way I had asked the service depot to give my car an oil change as well as give my brakes a look at they completely forgot to change the oil in my car. Anyways now my bill for the repairs I need are just shy of $1600 I would not ever recommend this company to anyone these are repairs that would easily be recognizable to any decent mechanic, and let's be honest any mechanic would jump for the chance to make good money on a job this serious. This company could have cost me my life or the lives of my passengers, or serious bodily harm. I would also like to add my quote from them for new calipers was roughly 7 hundred dollars, the shop I took my car to today charged me $300 including the labor cost, I could only image what they would have tried to charge me if they had actually looked at my car properly like I had asked and found these other much more serious problems. I would erge anyone looking for fair and decent prices to look elsewhere, and find a properly trained mechanic that cares and knows what he is doing, and doesn't thrive off five star reviews for oil changes witch is the bare basics of car maintenance. read more

I took my car to have the brake pads replaced. They did it quite quickly which was good. However, they charged me more than what they originally quoted for, which they wrote in my invoice when I had the engine oil changed. I only learned about it when I got home and filed the new receipt together with the previous receipts. I wouldn't mind if it the difference wasn't substantial. I will not come back! read more

Dis-honest. I went in for a synthetic oil change, fine enough... Then I was told my brake pads were less than 5% and that I should fix them immediately! I took them to a mechanic friend and looked at them closely and they were about 25% left. Thank God I didn't get any work done there... Cannot trust this shop. Did they even put Synthetic oil in my car? How would I ever know? If you lie about one thing you can lie about another. Never going there again. read more

God is my witness I am stating the truth as it happened, step by step: I took my car for a brake estimate. A Mr. Aaron MacDonald took my car and they put it up on the hoist. After 15 minutes or so, the young Mr. Chohan gave me an estimate of $616. I asked him to kindly give me a discount and he said he would call the parts supplier to see if he can do a better price. He came back and said he would do it for $555. I agreed. This was put on paper but they took my estimate to copy it and never gave it back. They lent me their courtesy car. I went to Metrotown and half an hour later, I got a call saying they had taken another look at the vehicle and the calipers needed to be changed for an extra $490. I explained I had financial problems and I was in no position to pay that much money and please do not do any additional work. He called again and said it is dangerous to drive this car and he would do it for $400. I asked him not to do additional work as I was not able to pay for it and I promised to give him a release that the car would be moved from the shop at my risk: I wanted the next door shop to see it and give me a price. I had changed my calipers one year ago and I suspected this is a scam. I asked him to please NOT do anything to the brake system and he said I should then come back quickly. I did. He called me again and I told him I was on the phone and heading back to his shop. After my call ended I called back and he just said not to worry it had been taken care of. I arrived there and asked how they had solved the issue. Mr. Aaron told me they had replaced the calipers and I would just have to pay as much as I could for them and the rest later. He put the paper in front of me and I was shocked as the price had jumped up from $555 to $1,136! He kept asking me to sign that I agreed. I had to borrow from my girlfriend and I paid them $790. They would not release my car. Under duress I wrote "I had asked you not to touch the calipers but you did. Thank you and I agree to pay $210 more when I can". Then the young Mr. Chohan came out and tore up that paper. He told me to sign that I agreed to pay $1,136. I said I could not agree. He then had one of his staff drive my car into the shop and hoisted it back up and would not give me my car. He refused to give me my jacket too and I was outside in the cold. Then they went inside their office and CLOSED the office door which I found odd. At my request an Asian staffer brought my jacket and handed it to me. Mr. Chohan scolded him for doing that. I called the police. Mr. Aaron MacDonald - who seemed to be a gentleman - began walking away. I asked him to please wait as the police was coming and I wanted him to tell the truth about what had happened. He said he had finished his hours and was going home. When the police arrived, Mr. Chohan produced a completely different set of papers! My invoice had now increased to $1,161. The $555 estimate was all scratched up and now read $687. I asked him in front of the officer to please give me a copy of the torn up paper which recorded that I had specifically asked them not to touch the calipers. He first agreed when the officer asked him to and later refused. In front of the officer I asked him to preserve that document for court evidence. I also asked him to show us the calipers that he had said were cracked. He said he did not know where they were dumped and later told the officer that he would sell the calipers and was only charging me the charge to upgrade them. He then said he was willing to let my car go if I agree to sign his contract saying I owed another $371 (which I was not agreeable to) and pay him another $300. I did not have that money and I refused to sign it. He kept my car and I had to take the sky train to home. Officer E. Faustino who had responded to my call kindly gave me and my gf a ride. When I saw the falsified documents he had prepared for the police, I adjured God to judge Mr. Chohan and I know God will. I had told Mr. Aaron I have three people with disabilities in my household and have to financially support my brother who has brain tumor. None of this is a lie. Mr. Chohan called me a liar for saying these things. I adjure God to strike down whoever lied in this instance. read more

NEVER EVER GOING TO THIS PLACE AGAIN! I HAD TO CALL POLICE. Ripoff literally!!! and I strongly suggest anyone going to this place to be warned about their work, their attitude and their price. In particular, be warned about an old father of the owner who will test your patience with f-words insults. - I used to go to this place when it's "Seiko Motors". - Sometime in November 2014, I go for oil change and I find new owners and the name "Seiko Motors" was no more there. I asked for oil change for which I used to pay 30 dollars. The manager (a young individual) suggests I use synthetic oil which will be 39 dollars. I say ok and leave my car there. When I come back, this guy (manager) is no more there and I find his father. He asks me to pay 69 dollars. I say, "What?" Your son said 39, how is it 69. This man then goes to say, "That is what we charge for synthetic oil change. Do you want me to show our invoices we worked oil change today?" He then brings some invoices and shows me one by one and there was no one invoice showing 69. I then tell him, "I am not interested in other invoices but rather what I will pay. I would have gone to Mr. Lube if I knew I would be paying this much. But anyway it is done and we don't have to fight for 20 or 30 dollars." After that I paid and left. - In about a month, my car plastic bumper was lose and needed bolting. So I go to this place and I ask the manager "Hey, do you remember me? I changed my oil here last time." Now, I am wondering if you could bolt my bumper which is lose. May you please also first tell me how much I will pay?" The father replies before his son and says 15 or 20. I say, "Come on, I change oil here, I thought you would say it is ok we'll do it for you as customer." The father replies, "No, I have to pay my employees." I say, "Ok then go ahead and please do it for me." I wait until it is done and now I am asked to pay 25. I tell the guy "your father estimated 15 or 20 and you are asking me to pay 25?" He says, "I used my bolts and therefore you have to pay for parts as well." I say ok, I paid and left. - In about three weeks time, this bumper falls off. I was so furious to have paid 25 bucks and it doesn't stay a month. I went there confident that he will do it ABSOLUTELY FOR FREE. I go, I tell him about it and ask him, "What can you do for me?" He says he has to see it first. I tell him that the bumper was in my trunk and give him my key. Finally, they repair it and one of the employees call me to see what has been done adding that for this I pay 25. I tell the employee, "regarding the payment, I think I will deal with it with the manager and I don't know why you are telling me I will pay when he could tell me himself. In any case, thank you." I then walk to the office, ask for my key and this manager awkwardly asks me to pay 25. I tell him, "Buddy you fixed the bumper only last month and I paid 25 for it then; now do you think I deserve to pay?" This guy goes "You lied to my father last time you changed oil and now you are talking, yes you will f*king pay." I was caught off guard for the f word and I calmly said "You know what, we are not going to fight for 25 dollars but never use f-word on me, I am customer. It is not about the money, it is about dignity." At this moment, he goes so furious and says, "You f*king immigrant, you come to this country and say this, you f*king pay...." I swear I couldn't believe such furiousness and anger from a service provider on his customer for such small thing. The father comes in and he attempts to physically hit me when his son caught him. At this point, I can say the son was not as savage as his father. In any case, both father and son continued insulting me non-stop and I said, "Ok, I will pay, stop it and lets finish this". The son responds "I don't f*king take your money" It all happened just too fast and too furious. The father again continues and now both are coming close to my face and I then thought "Probably these family have problems and this might be simply their nature and they might drag me to a fight and then destroy my life." So I decided to tell them I am calling police. Both went on ranting and insulting me even worse throwing too many insults I didn't even want to hear. So I run outside to the street and called 911. - The police came and asked me if I was assaulted. I said "No I wasn't assaulted but I was harassed and insulted." They said that that is civil matter and they won't be involved but that they will help me get my car in their presence. After a talk with the manager, I was called in to pay and take my car. Now, suddenly this guy makes the price over 47 dollars. I tell the police "Before it was 25 now 47 but no problem I will pay." Looking at the manager I said "I will prove it to you in Canada the law is stronger than your's or your father's arms." I paid, took my car and left never to go back to that place again!!!
