Going to buy a car is hard enough, but buying a Used Car is typically grueling! Never has it been a fast and easy process till now! So, needless to say when my husband got it set in his mind I was ready for an upgrade from my 2006 Prius, my stomach turned as he began his search for a Lexus RX-400H. There were many out there and I, being the voracious researcher, made a few price comparisons and made a few calls to dealers. When I called a Burien dealer (I'll not name the incompetent man I spoke to or which dealer for humanitarian reasons), he was unknowledgeable of Lexuses in general. It struck me odd that he did not know why his high mileage Lexus was priced more than the lesser mileage vehicles I researched. I ended up calling Craig Ludy of Auto Quest in Seattle to inquire about his large inventory of Lexuses. Craig was very informative about the different vehicles I was looking at based on the VINs. He looked at the auction notes as well as the internal resources to find out why this Lexus was lower priced, why that one was higher priced for no reason, etc, etc. He did not have to educate me but it really opened my eyes! Although I did not name what dealerships I called, he knew which ones I was speaking of and pros/cons of working with them. He was not disparaging toward them but did give me sufficient information to make a decision as to who I wanted to work with. Based on this conversation, I ONLY wanted to work with Auto Quest. We had planned to look at a Lexus Sunday morning at 10 already but Auto Quest did not open till 11. He arranged for someone to open up early to meet with us so that we would not end up spending our entire day looking at cars. That was the second reason reinforcing my decision to ONLY work with Auto Quest! When we met Doug Seguin Sunday morning, he was already there and we even got there at 9:45 AM. Deciding on which Lexus was best, we started running the numbers. That is the part we hate and always feel like unworthy people. Doug never made us feel like that. As a matter of fact, he pointed out an error on our Credit Report was causing loan approval challenges. It was a 'WOW' moment as no one had ever explained why our credit was the way it was. He told us he was going to work on it Monday and give us a call. By 1:30 pm on Monday, Doug called with happy news! Not only did he get us approved, but at a much lower interest rate then we have ever had on a car loan! Today (Tuesday) at 9 AM, an hour before they opened (we got there at 8:30 AM and again, Doug was already there), we picked up my gorgeous blue Lexus RX-400h! He even worked magic with our credit AND the terms of the loan with NO hidden Add-ons or fake necessities. He even gave me new floor mats at no charge AND a brand new battery in my key fob!! Bottom line, if you're in the market for a RELIABLE used luxury car and don't know who to trust your business to, call Auto Quest in Seattle and work with Doug Seguin!! Simple enough buying experience. Went in to look at a couple different cars and were told to help our selves to any car we'd like to look at. We then test drove a few we liked and we ending up choosing one. Completely no hassle, no gimmicks, no pressure. Super laid back process. Paper work took all of 20-30 mins. Only thing I'd like better is for it to have a little more organization. It didn't really feel like a dealership. It was kind of a scattered approach to selling cars, even though this is not a recent startup it had that feel. And don't expect something like a tank of gas with their low prices. Also, if your car is a little dirty they won't detail cars for delivery. They get detailed once upon arrival and thats it. Would I buy here again? I would rate the process a zero if I could. If you want to view cars and test drive that's easy and the sales team is helpful, but when it comes to the purchasing piece it was all haggle and aggressive tactics. First and foremost, they printed an invoice with additional fees like gap insurance, extended warranty, a 'contract fee', and accessories adding up to over 10k from the list price. Then when I pointed out fees aside from traditional fees and taxes being more than what I expected they skirted around how these are just normal and then finally started to compromise, but through the process of 'no haggling' the sales rep was rude and condescending- almost shouting at me. When I finally made it clear to the sales rep that I would not pay more than the list price plus taxes and reasonable customary fees, as well this situation was making me uncomfortable, he started to say 'well then maybe this car isn't for you' and even as I started to walk away he said 'well are you saying You'll buy it right now?' Super wired experience. The sad part is, if they wanted more money for the car I would have paid it, if that's what the list price showed- just a matter of principle and being transparent. I also already have my financing complete and could have sent them an electronic check- way to easy. I would not recommend this business and will ask my bank to remove them as a 'preferred dealer'. I found a listing on the internet on a Sunday, and was able to phone, speak to a person, and upon arrival they had several options. I found them to be direct and efficient. They did not try to persuade me into spending more money, and even pointed out options I did not need in higher priced models. I have not had them service the car, which is one of the selling points, but from reading the reviews, I think I will stick with Swedish Automotive to ensure I receive quality parts. read more

What a sad excuse for a business. Buyer beware is all I have to say.... So I bought a car from them awhile back, and apparently when car shopping you need to do two things: 1) Make sure they are selling the car with more than one key fob. 2) Do an emergency braking procedure to check whether or not the front brake rotors need to be replaced. Sadly for me, I neglected both of those checks. Turns out a replacement key fob from Lexus costs around $300. Not exactly small potatoes. And the rotors cost me close to another $300 as well. Pretty f'n annoying when you just buy a car. I cannot even remember my salesman's name. But god, the lines he was trying on me. I'm sure they were all scripted. Imagine this exchange in slow m o t i o n. As we're working on the paperwork to write the sale up, my salesman reaches into his top drawer and pulls out an official looking piece of paper (3rd party extended auto warranty) with his name on it. Then pulls out his driver's license to prove the names are the same. (BTW, the names didn't even match up! But had a story about how he goes by his middle name blah blah blah and that's why the names were different...) And starts extolling the virtues of the the third party extended warranty that supposedly covers everything that could ever possibly go wrong on your car and they fix it! All for only $1800. Then sensing my resistance the scripted lines continue: Salesman, "Hey so and so guy in the hall, do we have any more of those coupons for the extended warranties?" Guy in the hall, "Yeah, we have only two left. What's his name is coming in to buy another car and we're saving one for him." Salesman, "You're in luck, these coupons are worth $300 on the warranty. We sell so many of these warranties that the warranty company sends us these coupons for a our preferred customers. So we can give you this million dollar platinum coated diamond encrusted warranty for only $1500!!!"" Still sensing my resistance, the salesman leans across his desk, and starts to talk real low like he has something really deep and important to tell me. "If I were your drinking buddy and we were at the bar right now, I'd be telling you how important this is and to get it". I'm thinking to myself, well, you're not my drinking buddy. And you're on my payroll right now so of course you want me to spend another $1500 on a warranty that is going to do anything in their power to deny any claim I may possibly make. No thank you. After the bar drinking buddy tactic failed to achieve results, Craig Ludy, the owner, was called in for backup. And let me tell you, that guy is a smooth talker..... Back on topic though, this is from Craig Ludy: "YOU WONT FIND A DEALER THAT CARES MORE ABOUT SAVING YOU MONEY FOR YOUR ENTIRE OWNERSHIP." Very disrespectful person, Craig, who claims to be the owner of this place. I ended up purchasing the car as I had to get done with my car shopping. But if you have the time and the option to shop around, then DON'T EVER do business who lies, thinks low of others (customers who bring him money), and above all A LI ER. HORRIBLE! went there to look at their cars because they have very competitive prices, upon arrival, noticed their cars are not what they seem on the site autotrader, and the salesmen are told d*cks. They think they are better than you for some reason, it makes no sense to me. I was interested in a car that cost around 25k-30k and the salesman refused me a test drive, claiming insurance issues, i told them i would be fine with a pre-approved credit check, but they insisted on not giving the test drive. Could you imagine how I walked out of that place? And on a side note, i am not a 18 yr old boy looking to just joy ride, I'm 23 and i was with another friend of mine who is older, and I was helping him buy a car. I have bought multiple cars and NEVER in my life have a met people so rude, they are HORRIBLE people with no sense of dignity or respect. I'm surprised they are still in business with their attitude. Without getting into the gory details, suffice it say that Auto Quest did not fulfill its contractual obligations that were set when we purchased our vehicle. After months of unsuccessful negotiations with the company, it became clear that the monies owing would not be forthcoming. We filed a claim for the amount owing in Seattle Small Claims Court. The King County Sheriff's office made 8 attempts to serve the court papers on the owner, both at the business and at his home address. No luck. On the day of the court hearing, the owner didn't bother to show up. The judge ruled in our favor. A copy of the judgement was sent to Auto Quest. No response. A month later, we called Auto Quest and informed the person who answered the phone that we would be proceeding against them in Civil Court. A few days later, a check for the full amount owing showed up in our mailbox. No note attached. No apology. No explanation. A full 9 months had passed since the due date for the monies under the original contract. It's unbelievable that Auto Quest would treat a good faith customer in this fashion. The vehicle was good value and has been excellent. Not certain where the disconnect is; but there is one. Nice selection of used luxury cars but the service (from Bob) was non-existent. We were looking for a Lexus SUV and found one we liked on their website. There were a few discrepancies between Auto Qwest's description of the options on the vehicle and the pictures they posted on their website so I emailed them for clarification. Rather than answering my questions, Bob responded with a simple "When can you come in to test drive the car?" I followed-up with another email re-iterating my questions which was again ignored by Bob. We then tried calling the owner, Craig Ludy, hoping to get our questions answered, but Bob answered the phone and said Craig would be out until the following week but we should come in to take a look at the car. We went in and spent about 45 minutes looking at their Lexus SUVs and narrowed it down to two vehicles that we liked. However, we still had a couple of questions and Bob took down our contact information and promised to get back to us with answers. A few days passed and we called Bob when we hadn't heard back from him. Our voicemail was ignored as Bob never bothered to return our call or follow-up. The owner needs to have all his sales staff re-take customer service 101. If they ignore their customers pre-sale, how do you think they are going to treat their customers post-sale if an issue arises? We ended up buying our Lexus from a different dealership. read more

It's interesting to read all of the glowing reviews of AutoQuest, some of which are a bit over-the-top. One wonders whether more negative reviews have been removed. This is possible, as there are companies that can be hired to remove reviews that are more negative. I'm certain that happened in our case. Long story short: we purchased a Lexus from AutoQuest and purchased an extended service warranty. One of the provisions was that, if we didn't require any repairs to the vehicle for five years, the money was to be refunded. Well, you guessed it. The five years passed, we didn't require any repairs, and we approached Auto Quest to "pay up." They refused. We ultimately had to take them to Small Claims Court in Seattle. We won; however, only the threat of a civil suit prompted them to finally pay. Our review was posted on this site but was removed within the month. That's unfortunate as it prevents potential future customers from making well-informed decisions as to whether they should purchase a vehicle from this business. read more

We've bought two lexus from Autoquest in the past. All good. A year ago we bought another one...unfortunately it had a cigarette smell that never came out. A year later on a hot sunny day when the smell was at its worst, I sent them an angry email. Zac responded come in, we can make this better. As a female it can be intimidating to go buy a car because your not really sure if the sales person has your best interest. A friend referred Zak at Quest auto and said he would take good care of me. Quest has a variety of high end vehicles for really great prices. I am not kidding I was there for three hours, found my dream car, and drove home. It was easy they didn't try to haggle with me. I bought a four warranty for my 2006 Audi because I know that parts can be very expensive for that brand of vehicle. I financed the vehicle as is. I got home and two days later the check engine light came on. I was so bummed and felt a bit of buyers remorse. I called Zak and told him he got me in to Arrows auto just down the street from the dealership, and said whatever it is no worries we will pay for it. It was a minor thing but it put me to rest that even though I bought it as is, they still took care of me. Arrow rocks too by the way. I felt spoiled. Quest also paid for a new set of keys because the old clicker was pretty worn. I have recommended them to a friend already and will go there when it is time to buy again. On another note, the art at the dealership is so pretty, it was a comfortable place to sit as I did my paperwork, and all of the salesmen were very good-looking, well dressed and well mannered. read more

I honestly still can't believe how good and easy my experience was working with Zac. I'm moving to CA soon for work and need a new car. I knew exactly what I was looking for (2013 535i M Sport) and I've been looking at them non-stop for the last 3 weeks so I knew what I wanted on the car. Originally I was going to wait until I moved to make the purchase but after I saw this car on their website I decided to take a look at it. It had all of the options that I wanted and was the exact color scheme that I was looking for and it had about 10k fewer miles than what I was seeing anywhere else. Zac took a look at my license, gave me the keys and told me to "have fun" as I headed out the door for a test drive. None of that tagging along BS where he points out the cup holders and the purrrr of the engine or whatever. When it came time to talk price I told him where I was looking to be and he told me his bottom line and we found something that worked for both of us with no back and forth nonsense or pressure one way or the other. I also had a trade-in that was a consideration and frankly I wasn't expecting to make a deal that day because I thought that I was going to have to make some minor fixes on my car in order for him to give me a fair price...I was wrong. He took a look at it as-is, looked up the Blue Book value and frankly he gave me significantly more than I expected to get. Finally, he casually asked me about my financing, which I had in place for 3.1% at BECU, and then offered to get me approved for the same loan term at a significantly lower rate (which he did)! I couldn't have had a better experience than I did working with Zac and I don't care if I live in CA or Africa, I'm buying my next car from him as well. The whole thing was so damn easy that I was hesitant to leave the lot because I felt like there must have been a catch...there wasn't. Go check them out, you won't regret it! Jesse read more

I mistakenly went to AutoQuest thinking it was a body shop when my 2005 Honda Accord was involved in a front-end collision. All the other body shops I had called or visited had tried to either forcefully manipulate me into working with them or had pushed me out the door and sent me packing if they could not directly assist me. Dominic, however, referred me personally to Fix Auto next door. He went over there personally to explain the situation and set me up with Andrew, who took amazing care of my car and fixed it up in no time. I was so grateful to Dominic for making a really unpleasant process way better than I thought it would be, and I spent some time looking around at their inventory at AutoQuest. They have some amazing cars over there, and I personally fell in love with a white FR-S. Unfortunately, but not to my surprise, Dominic had sold the car by the next day when I came back to buy it. I've learned my lesson and have routinely visited AutoQuest every week or so looking for my next car - I know this will be the place for me when I find the right one and I know not to pass up next time I see something I want. Dominic does not pressure anyone into doing anything they don't want to do, but he also turns cars around very quickly. If you see a car you like and hesitate don't be surprised if it's gone the next time you show up! I've been looking for a BR-Z or an FR-S for months and for some reason expected to have more time but these guys know how to take care of their customers and it obviously goes a long way. The first RX 350 I bought from them they said it had not been in an accident but the passenger side door could never be adjust right, so i brought it back and got a different RX 350, Now this one leaks in the rain from underneath the dash and floods the passenger side floor board. I am very happy with our purschase from Zac. He is friendly, and straightforward. He also was amazingly helpful in the financing. All in all We got a great car at a fair price. The great thing is that the sales staff are not commission, so there is less preassure and the whole envireonment is relaxed. Don't ever buy a car from here!!! I have listed some of points from my bad experience here. 1) The salespeople are rude. When I first walked in the door, no one bothered to greet and help me. There were 2 people talking to each other as I walked in, at first I thought they were customers talking to each other. Later I found out that the owner was talking to one of his employees. 2) The car prices may seem attractive to you from cars.com but you will have to spend $$$ for repairs. After I purchased my vehicle, I took it to Lexus and it turned out they had the following items missing: engine cover clips - 15 missing, 1 fog light was burnt and for the other one, the socket was 1/2 full of water (had to get the whole socket replaced), all spare tools were missing (costs about $400), tire bolts were missing for all 4 tires (had to make another trip back to this dealership for the bolts), and only received one key. All in all, I had to spend about $1,000 for just repairs now. I haven't purchased the 2nd key and the spare tool kit yet. Who knows what will need repairs down the road... 3) No service at all. I had asked them to detail the car before I purchased it and one of the sales people had yelled to another worker, "Can u clean it?" But it turned out that there was no one actually cleaning on Sundays (I think the cleaning was contracted to another company). 4) They actually will lie to you saying that parts will cost so and so, very cheap. I asked for the 2nd key, rubber mats, and the detail cleaning. They quoted very cheap prices and told me it was very easy to get it done and told me just to take it to Lexus of Bellevue. Even though, the quotes they give you may seem attractive, the actual prices for these are pretty expensive at Lexus of Bellevue. 5) I traded my BMW and at first the owner quoted me very low price. I told the owner (Craig) that according to kbb.com, the value was such and such. They will try to undervalue your trade-in as low as possible. 6) The mileage will be much higher than in the advertisement. Overall, I regret buying the car (used Lexus LX570) from here. Bear with me for a second and indulge me in an off-color metaphor. In my experience, buying a car, either new or used, is very similar to going to a strip club. Let's say you are hanging around with your friends and their wives/girlfriends are all way more attractive than any girlfriend you could ever pull, even with sedatives. So you decide to go to the strip club to kick some tires. You are apprehensive in the parking lot, anticipating a lot of bait and switch, sweaty palms and nervous conversation about the weather and that rash you haven't seen the doctor about yet. You go in, and there are lots of beautiful women wandering about. Shiny. Sparkly. All the options. The standards you established before coming in begin to waver, and before you know it you are test-driving a persuasive single mom who smells like coconut suntan lotion and you realize that you are going to end up paying waaaay more than you intended when you came in. By the time you make it back out the door you are gripped by an existential angst and some sincere buyer's remorse. You sought fulfillment, and you found despair. Okay, so this was certainly not my experience with Zac Ohlsen and Auto Quest. Yes, there were shiny and sparkly well-detailed vehicles, many beyond my means or needs for transportation. The dealership is beautifully appointed, kind of edgy with a higher-end appeal to the décor. I had contacted Zac via email regarding a specific vehicle, and he provided just the right amount of detail over the phone without the hard sell, not pressuring me to come in but discussing the relative merits of the vehicle in which I had interest, and the trade I was bringing in, which he had owned in the past. I wasn't able to make it in over the weekend, but dashed over during lunch from work just expecting to look at the car and transact business at a later date. Zac made himself available immediately, and the test drive convinced me that the car was indeed what I was looking for. Best experience ever. We went in the dealership to look around. There was no pressure and is was a basic open invite to check out all of the vehicles in the garage and outside with no sales people hounding you every step you move. After seeing a car we wanted, he asked if we wanted to test drive it. the car drove amazing, after we were done he said "you want to talk #'s?" we were like ok We closed the deal.. Going into the dealership at 6:30 and leaving there at 8pm with all the done paperwork.. I have bought several cars in my life and this was by far one of the easiest and quickest!! Upon arrival, Louis was quick to greet me and get me to the car that I was interested in! He was very personable and not pushy like your use to with car salesmen! He was very upbeat and smiled, tried to get to know us and our needs/ wants in a car, etc. Upon arrival, we already knew what car we wanted and went straight to the game of buying. Louis never pushed the car upon us and gave us plenty of time to think it over before going ahead with the deal. From the start, he was willing to work with us with our trade-in and was very honest about both sides. The car buying experience was even better! He didn't mess around, gave us what we asked for and got us a better rate than I could of asked for!
