Had such a positive experience with this shop I decided to get my mother-in-laws Mini Cooper fixed. Well not fixed but serviced. Her AC hadn't been touched in years, and out where she lives it gets rather hot. Made an appointment, dropped it off, it was serviced and done when they said it would be. Price was very reasonable, and she is happy her lil mini is blowing ice cold air! Would recommend this place to any of my friends and family. It is hard to find respectable automotive shops, and this place fits the bill on every level. read more

Shane was very helpful explaining which parts needed replacing and which ones were still good and didn't need replacing. I thought there were 4 bad parts but he found only 3. Job was done quicker than I thought, done before 2 pm! read more

We were in Laughlin over the past weekend (6/4/22) and had car trouble (truck wouldn't start). We needed help from a reliable and decent auto shop somewhere near us. We found Auto Doc on Google and left them a message. First thing next morning, we received a call from John ("Johnny") and he was immediately available to help. We got AAA to tow our truck to Auto Doc within a half hour and Johnny was ready to accommodate our schedule!! That was a great first impression! Johnny and his crew diligently worked on our truck and by the end of the day (about 4:30), he got our truck working and ready to be picked up!! Auto Doc was efficient and professional. Johnny was very knowledgeable and very pleasant to deal with. We wished Auto Doc was near us in Orange County, CA, but, we now know exactly where to go if we ever needed a reliable and professional auto mechanic/shop!! We were highly pleased and satisfied with Auto Doc and highly recommend this shop to anyone!! THANK YOU Johnny and crew!! They are the BEST and we were very fortunate to have found them amongst so many other auto shops!! May their business continue to flourish & prosper!! read more

Service team was very honest and helped troubleshoot an electrical issue. Store in Vegas said it was the alternator going bad. However, after doing tests they found it to be a loose battery wire. Additionally their shop is kept very clean and organized. Sign of a well run shop. Definitely recommend using auto doc for any issues you have. read more

There we were, towing our boat with our '99 GMC Suburban, to Lake Mojave, when our transmission blew. John at Auto Doc took great care of us. Not only did he order and replace a new transmission ASAP, but when a faulty trans arrives from the GMC Factory, he and his crew replaced it again, and found and fixed other minor problems. We had to leave our whole rig there (truck AND boat--which he stored for us) and return the following weekend for pick up. John worked with us, and even though the shop wasn't open for business, he met us there at our convenience, for pick up. And now our truck is as good as new! Nice facility. Good people. Thank you John and team at Auto Doc! Spectacular service and work was done quicker and cheaper than initially quoted. Our 98 Range Rover had the belt tensioner go out and they also found that the water pump was going to fail soon. Left my truck at AUTO DOC to get my air conditioning checked out (wasn't cooling properly) Spoke to John. He said he would call me with the results when diagnosis is complete. He called later that day to inform me it was the electronic engine fan clutch and evaporator behind the dash was leaking Freon. He quoted about $ 2200 to fix. He said it would take about 3 days to repair because the whole dash of the truck needed to come out to get at the evaporator to replace. I gave him the go ahead, and instructed him to check out all the blend doors in the A/C box and make sure they all functioned properly while he had it apart to replace the evaporator. He called late the next day that the truck was done. I was shocked that his 3 day estimate was done in 8 hours. I asked him about the condition of blend doors and he seemed puzzled, then said oh! they're fine. When I picked up the truck the next day the A/C was blowing cool air but not cold air. I took it back after sitting 3 weeks in my garage and about 150 miles of driving. John wanted me to drop it off for another diagnosis. They replaced the electronic engine fan clutch again and stated now it is the blend doors that need replaced. John sent me a text that it would be another $2000 with parts and labor. But he would cut the labor in half. I ask John the hourly rate of his shop and he stated $150/hour. (I was shocked that his labor rates are as high or higher than dealer rates in Las Vegas) I reminded him that I requested the blend doors inspected while he had it apart replacing the evaporator and his response was they looked great. Then I asked him if he verified them cycling properly in the A/C box. Another "deer in the headlights" look stating they looked great. I asked John about the 2 year warranty and he said the blend doors are a separate issue and are not covered. I stated to John that the blend doors were working fine prior to him removing the A/C box to replace the evaporator. Plus you said that you verified they were fine prior to your reassembly of the A/C box. He had no comment. I offered to supply the parts, if he would install them for half the labor rate as offered in his text. He refused to honor his 1/2 labor offer unless he supplied the parts at a 45% mark-up ($1,000) which amounted to another $1,500 on top of the $2,200 I already paid. My Volvo sent me a message that the battery in my key fob was low. I was in Laughlin, 225 miles from home and I was frantic that I wouldn't be able to open the doors, let alone start the car, and I still had a week's vacation left. I called Auto Doc and John said they could take care of it. Drove to the shop (yes, the battery was going, but wasn't gone yet so I could get in and start the car). John pulled up the information on how to replace the battery, installed a new battery, and sent me on my way...at NO CHARGE! I just stood there at first, credit card in hand, until he again told me "no charge" for the fix. I didn't think these types of 'good deeds' existed anymore, and if I'm ever in Bullhead City again and in need of auto service I won't hesitate to go to Auto Doc. THANKS AGAIN, JOHN!!! read more

John' and his guys have been great people to work with each time i have needed a mechanic. Knowledgeable responsive and reasonably priced.

I took my Jeep Liberty into the Auto Doc for a needed repair, Johnny gave me an estimate of $300.00 for the repair, when I returned later that day to pick up my car the bill was $35.00. I was told a little valve just needed cleaning. WHEN DOES THAT EVER HAPPEN. Thank you Auto Doc. read more

On a 3 week vacation in our motorhome, from the Seattle, WA area, with my wife and 4 kids, the dash AC in our motorhome went out on us when we hit the 114 degree temperatures heading into the Laughlin, NV area. So we checked the Yellow Pages for a repair shop and found Auto Doc in Bullhead City, AZ - which is just across the river from Laughlin, NV. After explaining our situation to John Barker at Auto Doc, he went right to work to determine why the AC failed and what it would take to repair it. He found that the AC pump was blown and given that we had just had the pump replaced 1 month prior, John said that if we had a warranty on it we should be able to get it replaced by the shop who installed it or a shop in the Bullhead City, AZ area who is an approved shop under the warranty program. Even though he had already had about a half hour invested in pulling off equipment to get access to the AC pump and to troubleshoot the problem, he said he wouldn't charge us anything if we wanted to follow up on our warranty. So we called on our warranty and found that the warranty company didn't provide coverage for parts installed on RVs. - This was news to our original shop in Washington State. John spoke with our original shop over the phone and explained the failure. Our original shop agreed to pay for the repair themselves, so John got to work. A new pump was delivered the next day and John had it installed and running later that day. We were impressed by John's integrity and professionalism through the whole process. John took the time to fully explain the AC pump failure and suggested that we also replace the fan clutch, as our was old and probably not providing enough cooling for the AC condenser unit for 114 degree temperatures. We took his advise and we were on the road that evening, heading for the Grand Canyon on a steep highway out of Bullhead City. About 10 miles up the mountain pass, in 110+ degree heat, our motorhome's fuel pump ( which is mounted inside the fuel tank in the back of the motorhome ) failed. This had happened to us previously, but only in extreme heat situations and other repair shops couldn't ID the problem as the motorhome would run fine when it cooled down. So, after letting the rig cool a bit, we were able to turn around and head back to Bullhead City. We went back to Auto Doc and John and his crew tested the fuel pump and found low pressure and air bubbles in the stream. The old fuel pump was not able to provide enough fuel when the pump got to warm. Once again, John and his crew worked very hard to get us back on the road quickly. They were able to get a fuel pump delivered at 8 AM the next morning and had the fuel tank drained, removed and ready to install the new pump as soon as it showed up. So once again we were back on the road and this time our motorhome ran great, even in 115 degree temps as we drove up the steep grade and now with our AC running cold air again. John took the time to give us a call that afternoon before he closed the shop for the July 4th holiday weekend to check on us and to see if our motorhome was running properly. So a big Thank You to John and the guys at Auto Doc. We really appreciate your professional service and integrity. read more

Brought a car for a general inspection (same day, no appointment which was completed in about two hours) to make sure the vehicle was safe (such as tire alignment, checking brakes, fluid levels, etc.) and whoever I worked with told me the tires were well aligned so he decided not to align them since it would have costed me more and not helped much. He just replaced filters that looked horrendous and didn't do any additional, unnecessary work. Couldn't be happier, love to find mechanics who aren't in the business of doing unnecessary "repairs" just to hike the bill up. Awesome job and thank you so much! read more

Horrible Experience. Would give zero stars if possible. I paid over 200 dollars to get my car diagnosed, and fixed the part that John told me was the problem. It was incorrect. These guys are great. We were on vacation with a large group spending a few days on Lake Mohave. After a long day on the lake we came back to Princess Cove to find our Expedition wouldn't start. I called John and we worked it out over the phone. He worked with the tow company to get it sorted out and they got right on it. Turns out the fuel pump went out. John and his guys were able to get it fixed up the same day. He kept me informed of progress and was texting me updates. I was worried that it would take a day or two for parts and that would mean an extra day or two of expenses to stay in Laughlin. The car was ready to go that day but we picked it up the next morning so we didn't have to stay longer than planned in Laughlin. We had a long 300 mi drive home through the desert so John checked in with me multiple times throughout the drive- this was highly appreciated. I thought the price was reasonable but honestly, John and his guys saved me from having to stay over a couple of extra days and having to rent 2 hotel rooms for a couple of nights as well as meals for the 6 people in our group. Highly recommend using these guys. They are fast, honest and will keep you in the loop on the progress of the work. Oh, and they appreciate doughnuts so keep you mechanics happy!. Auto Doc??? CON ARTIST!!! Called them first to see if could fit my car in, and then when I got there, they told me to bring my car back the next day. That was the first lie. They changed my oil, and told me I was 3 quarts low. My dash light never came on. That was the second lie. They took three days to perform a simple tune up, and when I got my car back, the check engine light came on. They poured an exceeding amount of engine cleaner in my gas tank... Why? They messed up as much as they fixed. I will never take my car back to Auto Doc again. read more

Beware of predatory up-sell. I called in for a bid to replace the rear differential cover seal in my Tahoe. I first asked their shop rate, reply was "depends on what we're working on" but was asked to "bring it in and we'll give you our expert opinion". That evening I received a call and was told my "front brakes were worn down to the wear sensors and the rears were down to the rivets, all your axle seals and bearings needed replaced". I knew my brakes were fine so I asked for a bid on just the seals and bearings. Jonnie called me the next morning and said "going to cost you $3500 to get vehicle out of the shop and that doesn't include repairing the rear differential which could run another $2500". I asked for clarification and when he mentioned brakes I again asked for a price on the other allegedly needed repairs. Jonnie called me back with a bid of $1500. I have never heard of a $2000 brake job on a pickup. By now I am very suspicious of these folks and tell them I'm not interested. Jonnie says "going to cost you $250 to pick up rig". I asked why and he said "the inspection, parts and labor". I thought that was outrageous and said so. The extent of their inspection was to check oil level in the diffJonnie got heated with me and said I would find my "Tahoe in the street". I fixed the rear cover myself in two hours and paid $50 for parts. My brakes, differential and front and rear axle seals and bearings were, and still are, fine. read more

It's a difficult proposition to be in an area where you're totally uncertain who will solve your problems, especially automotive. I was told Auto Doc would treat me fairly, and do a good job diagnosing my failed water pump, and replacing it. They did, no question about it. Good, prompt service is what has now made me a customer for as long as I have a vehicle. A little more expensive? Maybe, but I didn't "shop" the work, and now I'm completely safe and satisfied, so why worry about cost? Be smart and go here first, your worries will be short lived. read more
