Care quality and office atmosphere should please all. Been going here for some years now.

My elderly mother is a patient of Dr.Rajan's, and for months now she has been leaving messages for his office to please follow up with her relating to her care, and NO ONE has EVER called her back or followed up. She has send messages through the patient portal requesting a call or some response, and not a single peep from the doctor or any staff! CAN YOU IMAGINE HAVING YOUR CARE DETERMINED BY SUCH NEGLIGENT, CARELESS PEOPLE??!!! My elderly mother, who has been on constant oxygen since June of 2024 is depending on her medical doctors for help, and NOTHING! Not a single call, or text, or message through the patient portal. So now I am stepping in because I am so deeply concerned I can't stand it anymore! I would NOT recommend this place to ANYONE needing help. THIS IS BEYOND NEGLIGENT! They have a legal responsibility to her as a patient to at the absolute bare minimum return a call. It has been MONTHS NOW!!!!!!!! Rajan may be a good doctor, but this is completely UNACCEPTABLE, by ANY standards!!!! I manage a dental office, and if any of my staff did this with a patient, or their care, they'd be fired immediately. read more

I told the lady working the new patient line and told her I could not breathe and she said I come in in a month. They need to fire the person working both "lines". read more

My sister has been a patient for a few years. She was recently released from the hospital and needed to schedule a follow-up visit soon. She has told me they are hard to deal with but I experienced it myself today. She tried calling and was disconnected, called back and got a message they were closed for lunch until one. At 11:45 someone from Austin Pulmonary (AP) called me so I suggested she call my sister directly on her cell since she no longer lives with me. She didn't want to do that so I said I would call and let her know to call AP. She, of course, got the lunch break message. I called their south location to see if they had another number we could call to get through since they had called us. They said no, we'd just have to wait until one. At one my sister called and got a message they were closed (lunch wasn't mentioned this time). I called at 1:15 and got that message. I called the doctor on call service only to be told that the office closes at one on Fridays. Each person I talked to knew that but never mentioned it. The staff just doesn't care about the patients. read more

Years ago, one of the founding doctors misdiagnosed my condition, which in reality was quite serious. I suffered easily avoidable permanent harm because of that error. After that, I moved due to work and only recently returned to Austin. Sadly, because there are almost no other providers for pulmonary care in Austin, I find myself back at APC, the city's dominant firm in the specialty, after years of better care in other cities. Though the doctor I saw was friendly, the support staff seems very nonchalant about patient time, money and health. This is a matter of breathing or not, literally life or death, not a nail salon. Some are so flip, dismissive and frankly dangerous, I have other tabs open to attorneys right now. read more

Drs Sint and Samara McWilliams, NP both 5* Reminder calls about upcoming appointments 0.1* Here is why: Had a message on my answering machine on 5/23 for my 5/24 appointment first part of message not understandable then " May 24, 11 am. Please arrive 15 minutes early. No show fees are in place. 24 hours notification for cancelation 12-900-77-0123 to confirm press 1 cancel press 9; press # or * key to listen to message again" Then when my answering machine didn't respond I got "RESPONSE TIME OUT, and long pause......RESPONSE TIME OUT, another long pause......... RESPONSE TIME OUT and a final long pause" and then finally their system hung up. Their machine is not intelligent enough to realize it is leaving a message on an answering machine, state who is calling, who the call is for, the location of the facility for the appointment, the physician or NP the patient will be seeing. One of the physicians saw my husband for a brief visit In the hospital. I have tried for two months to reach the billing office. I have left repeated messages and never receive a return phone call. I have also called the physician office and left messages. I even mailed (USPS) the billing office the correct insurance information, but they keep sending the delinquent bill. There is no option to speak with a live person at this practice, and no email address to send an email. I wonder how they stay in practice with such poor communication. read more

I really liked this practice on my initial visit to the Parmer location. Subsequent visits and phone calls have been less than positive. It is hard to get hold of someone. Today I called trying to get help with an asthma flare. Only option was the Cedar Park office which I cannot get to during working hours. Tried for a telemedicine visit or get a script called in and the triage nurse seemed not to be patient oriented at all. Was asking for the telemedicine visit when she just hung up. Particularly frustrating because Dr Chen told me at my initial visit that if I had a flare just to call and they would call in a script. Could understand if I hadn't seen them in while but I was there in March. I understand the need for protocols but they always need to be balanced with patient needs. Looking for a new practice as of today. read more

Make sure you are not one minute late and you drive to the locations well in advance of your appointment time. I arrived to the complex a couple minutes before my appointment time and was lost as to where the suite was I called the number on my Google search and got a voicemail with options that did not direct me to the office to ask where the suite was. I finally found it and walked in the door 13 minutes after my scheduled appointment time and the doctor wouldn't see me. Insane. read more

Nurse practitioner Samara McWilliams (at the Cedar Park office) is one of the best providers I've ever seen. I say that bc she listens well, is totally knowledgeable, patient, fabulous communicator and kind. I have total confidence in her ability to meet my pulmonary needs. read more

I voiced some complaints and their practice manager Mary call me. She is so communicative and kind. This employee is what every small business needs she owned the mistake, found the problem and fixed it. I love my Doctor there but feel like the rest of staff don't get enough love. Save yourself time and efforts! Unfortunately the worst health care I've ever received! I went in because I was referred to this place by a local ENT! Honestly the worst decision I've ever made. I saw some dr of theirs and she seemed like she was new. Barely explained the medication she was prescribing me. I called in after I started the meds and asked if the doctor may call me because the meds were making me very sick. I'm a new mother and I can't be sick like that all day. The office manager, said she would have the Dr call me directly. 3 weeks went by and not a single call from the Dr. I then took some chest scans she initially asked me to take, and also asked if the Dr could do a virtual call with me instead since it's hard for me to come in with my baby. Their office manager Nicole said no! So I had to make an apt to come in person. The day of my apt I was 5 mins late because I was changing my son's diaper in the car in their parking lot. I even called and left a voice message that I was running behind. I explained this to their staff but they still canceled my apt. They said they didn't have time to see me. Funny how I waited 45 mins to see a Dr my first visit but was 5 mins late and they declined me medical attention again. I was very upset because a whole month passed and my symptoms were not improving. I was scared actually. I explained this multiple times to their office manager in calls but Nicole always seemed to have an attitude and once again they showed me they didn't care. I get a letter in the mail showing they banned me from medical care and from coming to their office??!! Well, so glad I already found another doctor the same day and they looked at my chest scans virtual and prescribed me medication and my symptoms went away in 4 days. My new Dr at another office knew right away what I needed and I'm now healthy and breathing is normal. I'm in shock Austin Pulmonary is in business, how can you treat a new mother like this and don't show compassion any thought that I needed a provider to help me to feel better? So such a horrible experience with Austin Pulmonary. read more

Scheduling is terrible. They will cancel on you at the last minute, give you the wrong time for your rescheduled appointment then refuse to see you when come at the time they said vs what they meant. They have no problems not seeing patients that need to be seen because it's not convenient for them that they rescheduled you because they cancelled last minute because they don't have adequate coverage. read more

Dr. Cain gets 5 stars. He's helped me tremendously and is a thoughtful doctor. I feel very lucky to have managed to find him. Art's complaint from a few years ago is still valid. It's difficult to get someone on the phone and you can't bank on them calling you back. I do like the new location. read more

I am frustrated with the office staff. I had a scan done 6 business days ago. I called twice for results as no one has reached out to me. My ADC doctors would never be this unresponsive. Austin Pulmonary is not in a hurry to respond and have made no attempts to return my calls. Not impressed with this office. read more

I was sent to Austin Pulmonary by my primary doctor after a lung CT scan as part of my yearly checkup. The scan showed a small nodule in my left lung. My husband and I met with Dr. Laurie Gilby. She was super kind and informative and wanted me to have a bronchoscopey to check it out and it was performed by Dr. Anderson. I also had a pet scan which showed the nodule was cancer which had not spread anywhere else. Since it was stage one, Dr. Gilby suggested SBRT Radiation therapy or surgery. I chose the radiation therapy and went to Dr. Michael Herman at Texas Oncology. This all occurred over several months and I am super elated to let you know as of yesterday I am cancer free. I had another pet scan a week ago and my appointment with Dr Herman yesterday. I was pretty stressed and nervous for that appointment. When Dr. Herman came in, I said "what's going on?" and he said "ABSOLUTELY NOTHING . THERE IS NOTHING THERE.". The radiation worked and was so easy. No discomfort or pain at all. My own cells killed the cancer cells. AMAZING!!!! All of this started with Dr. Gilby. She helped me through the whole ordeal by telling me what to do and guiding me through everything. I have a long-term need for a good pulmonologist and, with Laura Gilbey, MD, of Austin Pulmonary Consultants, I have access to superb help for my issues. Over a periods of years, she has led me through a sleep study, daily long-term inhalation, a CPAP, a daily medication, use of short-term inhalation when needed, a CT scan and a Bronchoscopy. I am in a much, much better place as a result of Dr. Gilbey's professional, conscientious efforts. Highly recommended! read more

If I can only get one thing across is don't bother with this place don't go. They truly don't care about their patients. I don't know why they're in business maybe it's the money maybe they're all getting filthy rich. Dr sent never even knew me and he's supposed to be my doctor for saving me from sleep apnea. The lengthy problems I've had over the year are too much if you want to contact me for details have a good time do that. I did a Home sleep study then was told to go to the place and did it did that apparently I'm very critical very high numbers. I was told after that to make an appointment about what machine I was also told that somebody in the office could tell me costs once he put in the order. And it was all a lie. Dr Sint walks in the room and says I don't know why you're here how's the machine. I've never received a machine. It was September I said this is the month because my insurance starts over to do this and then I was supposed to meet with him for update. He went over the results and started getting up to walk out of the room before letting me ask any questions. He said he'd order the machine. One week later I called to get a companies phone number to find out how much longer it was going to be and was told We've never had your permission to order it. This is the competency issue of this place. And by the way no one there can tell me anything about cost they said it's up to the company where you get the equipment. It's just been one big joke after another except it's my life so I'm not laughing. read more

All was well until we met the doctor for my husband's first time at the office. Dr. Jennifer Chen at the North Austin location is inadequate at best. She interviewed my almost 77 year old husband, who had been suffering from a horrendous, deep cough for most of the winter, and never even listened to his chest nor touched him in any way. The cough had subsided a few days prior, but she said a CT Scan of his chest was contraindicated. This is a man who smoked for 45 years, has a father who died of lung cancer and has cardiovascular disease. She said he is not at risk of lung disease and he will be out of the guideline age for CT Scans when he reaches the age of 77 next month. WHAT!!! She says she doesn't have a crystal ball to know if he has lung cancer or might have lung cancer some day but although a CT Scan would show if there was something there, he's not a candidate. And we have to pay for this. Find someone else folks. This was a sham. read more

Dr. Laura Gilbey and her staff at the West Parmer location are simply great ! They are caring folks who make you feel welcome. I had been suffering with Bronchitis for 2 weeks and was becoming alarmed that I was not getting better. I had no trouble getting an appointment quickly and was able to see Allison Chapman, Nurse Practioner. She took a detailed history of what had been going on for 2 weeks and carefully examined me. She provided me with an additional inhaler and gave me guidance on using the medicines I had received from my primary care doctor. Both my husband and I felt a huge sense of relief after getting her help. Everyone we saw at the clinic from the receptionist to the medical assistants and Nurse Chapman were very friendly and helpful. I would highly recommed this clinic if you need a Pulmonary doctor. read more

Dr. Laura Gilbey is my pulmonologist and has been for about two years and she has been the best doctor I have ever found. Her staff are very quick to return my phone calls they were very prompt and attentive and try to help me out with any issues I might have. May is the practice manager and Stacie is the clinic manager and they are both fantastic at what they do and I couldn't ask for better service from any doctors office. The medical assistants that work for Dr. Gilby are top notch and really good at their jobs. Allison Chapman is the nurse practitioner for that office and I've seen her a couple of times and she's just as good as the physicians and I trust her with my life I couldn't ask for better care read more

Great doctor's but the front desk seems understaffed. It's almost impossible to get someone one the phone.

Dr. Gilbey was very pleasant to me in the hospital and asked me to call her after I was discharged. That was three weeks ago and I'm still on oxygen with no follow up instructions. I have been unable to reach Dr. Gilbey and nobody else returns my calls. My physical therapist is concerned that nobody is monitoring my oxygen. Front desk clearly does not tell the truth - one nurse said Dr. Gilbey was in the office, transferred me to her nurse who then told me that Dr. Gilbey would not be in all week. I got this firm by default by going through the ER. I would never recommend them to anyone who has a choice on their doctor. read more

My complaint is with the billing office. I have received three bills starting at the end of August. After the first one arrived, I called my insurance company to find out why they hadn't paid. They said checks for all of the visits listed on the bill had been sent and cashed. Since then I have tried and tried to call and e-mail the billing office to explain that they have been paid. The calls go immediately to the voicemail, and I have left messages explaining and including my account number. Monica called when I was not home and left a message, and we started playing phone tag. I tried to e-mail the office using the Billing Email listed on the bill, but the e-mails bounced back. Finally I reached Monica, but she was in her car and would call me back in about an hour. She never called. Now I have received another bill. The doctor I saw was good, but their billing office gets an F from me. read more
