Texted 20 minutes after scheduled appt that they would be 2 hours late. Then attacked me and property owner personally with verbal bs in text messages which followed. Then bailed out totally/never showed up and sent threatening letter to his attorney if I posted this. Guess what....karma can be a nasty thing. In over 25 years of doing business with Anthony and Austin Estate Gate, I have found him to be trustworthy and forthright. My experience shows him to be honest and practical, and I am accustomed to him telling me what he will do, and then having him do it in a reasonable and predictable fashion. I am surprised to see a few negative and very targeted reviews on YELP, and can only surmise that YELP's algorithm is not doing a good job of filtering axe grinding and perhaps disingenuous. I previously wrote another review on here, however it somehow got deleted by Yelp. I would not use this company for any gate repair service. Anthony (the owner) did not fix my gate properly. He actually didn't fix it at all, we are still having an issue. I do have to say, our gate mechanism is a piece of crap so the fact that it still doesn't work is not necessarily his problem. But the customer service and the rude emails I received after the service is what led me to rate him with only 1 star. My suggestion would be to find someone else who actually does the work themselves and specialized in working with gates. Not someone who pawns off the work to other people who don't know what they are doing. read more

Last week, we contacted Austin Estate Gate inquiring about a problem with our automatic gate ; specifically, our gate was staying open. An appointment was set and a congenial service man reported to the property and apparently corrected the problem. He presented a 'work order' for payment, which was paid via check for $184.00. He thanked me for the check and said to call if there were any problems. This morning, 6 days after the repair, I noticed that the gate was once again remaining open, so I called to let them know that the gate was continuing to stay open. To my utter disbelief and consternation, at the very outset, literally 15 seconds into the call, I was verbally attacked over the phone by the fellow who later identified himself as Adam Castillo, operations manager. Yelling and screaming at a high volume , he stated that "our lousy $184.00 bill was 'nothing', that their company handled jobs for " tens of thousands of dollars' and that THERE WAS NO WARRANTY OVER THE WORK THAT THEY PERFORMED..PERIOD". He also asked "what did I expect for $184?" He continued to scream a tirade about that he "remembered talking to me and that I was just too damn hard to get along with." I explained that I had never spoken to him previously and that I didn't know why he was being so rude. What is kind of interesting is that my wife had spoken with the owner, Anthony Bruno last week re some additional work that we are exploring...specifically adding a remote opener on the gate, and being a former consumer reporter, asked him all her normal questions, such as did he have a rating at BBB, what kind of warranty did they offer, etc. etc. and 'Adam' referenced this call to me, telling me that he had spoken to my wife and we had 'way to many questions and were too hard to deal with''...which begs the question, are they one and the same person?? Since he didn't even ask for my name or address or any other information that might be needed to set up a visit, he was obviously trying to discard our conversation by saying that he'd have someone come out --- "FREE OF CHARGE so I wouldn't have to worry about my lousy $184.00"! He then did ask if I had an invoice number (I guess to prove that they had indeed, been out); when I explained to him that the service man presented only a yellow work order for payment and that the yellow work order didn't have an identifying number, he simply kept repeating that he'd have someone out and it'd be free! He then said, "Or he'd just cut me a check for my 'lousy $184' and then I could go bother someone else." There's no reason to continue reporting how badly I was treated by this employee. Clearly we have no interest in having these clowns come out to the property again and will gladly pay someone else to come out and fix the gate that they were paid to repair last week, but did want to take the time to warn others about the volatile reaction that one can expect when doing business with Austin Estate Gate. read more

It's been a few years since our gates were installed at our apartment complex in austin. I recently visited the properties and noticed that one of the lower brackets had begin to rust out. Although I was way out of the warranty period I phoned the company to see what could be done. The guy that came out determined that this paticular part had not been powder coated as specified. They removed it and replaced it without hesitation. Old school kind of service, nice! They will be getting our future projects in the Austin area. read more

I was extremely fortunate to be introduced to Anthony and his team at Austin Estate Gate, upon meeting him I felt immediately at ease that he was going to do what he said and he certainly did. His team is professional, courteous, and completed the job on time without any hiccups. I would not hesitate to recommend Anthony and Austin Estate Gate for any job since Anthony will be straight up with you if he can handle it, and I suspect no job is too big or too little for him to accomplish.
