Budget Party Hire

It does what is says on the label folks…read more I have done my research and this place is my go to for budget party hire from glassware to marquees, PAs and speakers, tables and chairs, bain maries, fences, fluro furniture and essentially everything you need for an event. They really are the cheapest and have the best variety of products. The website is relatively easy to navigate and order from, despite some of the categories being a little ambiguous (who puts glassware in the tableware category?). Service online is incredibly efficient in which you can place your order and within 12 hours will have an email response with invoice and collection times or delivery cost available. Opting to collect products does save a crap load of money too so if you have a trailer, use it! Word of warning: you are getting budget party equipment hire, so keep in mind that not everything will be pristine or mark free. I have had fences, speakers and water canisters that look like they've done a couple of rounds in the back of trailers. Glassware has always been clean and good quality though. The service at reception is quite abrupt and lacking on the friendly, conversational side of things. Luckily the guys in the warehouse are the loveliest blokes who will help a gal out and pack her car or trailer for her with everything. They won't hear of you ever trying to lift a finger on the day or collection or return of products, which makes the entire experience a lot more pleasant, lucky for Budget Party Hire!

Poorly maintained equipment, electrically unsafe. Tripped every circuit in my house. Initially…read moredidn't work and had to get my own electrician (at my expense) to fix it. Was not given a refund as it was returned in working condition AFTER I PAID TO FIX IT!!! Need to publish their after hours help number somewhere besides in small print on the bottom of the receipt, for example on your WEBSITE MAYBE??? Customers need better support than that when they're preparing dinner for 100 guests and their dodgy equipment goes on the fritz.

This place was pretty packed out, but then again, it is Christmas time in a couple of weeks. They should have named the place Starlight Christmas and Easter Superstore and perhaps expand the target market slightly and arouse more interest outside of the festive season. There is so much cool stuff in here, and they staff are very helpful also. Remember, Starlight Christmas Superstore isn't just for Christmas... Ah, Actually it is.

Starlight Christmas & Party Superstore looks a little dingier than most party stores, but it is…read morealso cheaper than most party stores. A year or two ago a party store opened in City Cross Arcade stocking all sorts of schmick Toy Story/Dora the Explorer/Sesame Street branded party gear that was ridiculously overpriced considering it was all mostly plastic cups and plates, doomed to be binned the next day. Starlight is the antithesis of that. It is a little bit shabby, but affordable - you don't need to shell out a thousand bucks on a 21st/anniversay/Christmas dinner etc. They specialise in Christmas gear, so you can get loads of Christmas lights and tinsel and whatnot. They do their own little Christmas display in a big dark room (or a 'Christmas Cave') too, which strikes me as somewhat odd - but I guess if you're an X-mas enthusiast then you'll wanna see the gear in action. As well as Christmas stuff, they've also got a whole lot of other party/novelty things - straws, plastic plates, table cloths, battery operated candles, cheap helium balloons, masks etc. A fun place to visit if you're really really into parties, Christmas, or plastic novelty crap.
