My friend jumped into action and called her vet, Dr. Emily, at the Animal Medical Clinic. They cleared their schedule to help me that same day. We had to put Whyatt down. This is not an easy decision to make ever, and under these circumstances - in a strange environment, surrounded by strangers, it was even more difficult. The facility is clean, the staff is friendly, and they don't try to do that thing some other veterinarians do and push products on you! Suggest them, sure, but they don't push it! We've been taking our cats here for years, even though they are probably one of the more costly places in town. But, you do get what you pay for here. I cannot stress enough how awesome the staff is here, from the front desk folks to the veterinarians themselves. I would rather pay a little extra and get good customer service than the alternative. Some things: 1. They have kitty condos for long term cat stays! 2. They respond to emails (the address is found on their website) quickly. 3. They understand emergencies and try their best to avoid making you and your pet wait. 4. They have totally separate areas for cats and dogs! No awkwardness with a screaming cat in a carrier and a scared dog on a leash in the same waiting area. 5. They utilize the PetDesk app, which is just spectacular for people who use their phones' for everything. Of course you can still call in, but having an app tied to the vet is nice too. 6. Their new(er) location on North Road is such a nice place. It's so spacious. For those new to GI or looking for a place, I really suggest Parks.

They have been euthanizing animals for the sake of convenience and have been very secretive about doing so. I know they separated a pair of dogs who were companions, and were only supposed to be adopted together, as they had been together their whole lives. One of the dogs was adopted, and the other one was put down. Disgusting. This used to be a no kill shelter and a place I frequented when I wanted to visit some animals. But now you're not even allowed to go back and see the dogs.

Congestive heart failure is no joke and the prices we were given by other pharmacies left us in pieces! By chance I found Heartland looking for something we could afford for the long list of meds she needed. Ordering online was easy. They already had my vet and the clinic in their database. Their verification and turn around time was quick and within a few days her meds were in the mail with tracking. There is a particular med she also takes is size of a horse pill at the vets and horrendous to have to get her to take. Switching to Heartland the pill is substantially smaller and easier on her to swallow. It's no fun to have to fight your dog several times a day shoving pills down her throat, ugh! (No she won't eat chewables, stuffed in anything, or the pill pockets either, darn dog is a smart booty!) Last but not least, anytime you have an issue you can shoot them an email or call they are pretty quick to respond. Same day service! Great people! Great prices!

The first visit, the Vet didn't seem to see what the problem and didn't seem to address our concerns about the dog's excessive irritation.
