Aura Aura is a phenomenal Detroit based local business specializing in Aura photography. I've followed Eileen on Instagram for a long time, and when I saw she was popping up in Cleveland, it was a no-brainer to book an appointment online. The appointments were completely COVID safe and booked in time slots. I won't pretend I'm an expert at explaining the ins and outs of aura photography, but I think it's so incredible that everyone's unique aura is totally different and can change throughout life. You enter a small dome, put your hands on a machine and sit still while your photo is taken. It's so easy and the process takes no longer than five minutes. During your 15-minute time slot, you get your photo taken. Once it develops, Eileen helps you understand the colors on your personalized photo. She gave me such a beautiful and detailed description. We had a wonderful conversation and I walked away feeling so inspired and in awe about our conversation. I'm giving Aura Aura 5 stars because I thought the experience was quite unique and the owner was so nice! I've always wanted to have my aura read, so when I came across the opportunity to have it photographed, I was thrilled! I've never seen aura photographs offered anywhere else. How it works: You go inside of a tent and place your hands on boxes and then the photograph is taken. It's a very quick process, when all is said and done. I love my aura photograph and I'm so glad I did it. The only thing I will say is that it would be cooler if the owner was actually an aura reader. It would be interesting to have your aura read and photographed to see if they match. The next time you are in Mexican Town-check it out! read more

I was very disappointed in the customer service this business offers. I was in contact via Instagram with the business owner for over a month as I am from out of state and wanted to be sure to lock down a spot once availability opened up. I was coming to Detroit for a wedding weekend and it was my boyfriend's 35th birthday. I was looking forward to surprising him with this awesome experience. A month out, auraaura had all 4 of the days that I would be in town listed on their online schedule for the month of July, although booking is not available until a week out so I waited patiently and was on their website almost every day of the month of July. As the date drew nearer, they still had his birthday, Thursday July 25 listed as an available date on their website, they even made posts on Instagram about their Detroit availability for the weekend I was going to be there (this post or caption has since been deleted or altered). When I asked about when the schedule would open up, they told me to count back 7 days. Never once did they mention that they were cutting most of their July availability away. Unfortunately, they continuously decreased their availability down to only 1 day that I would be there. they also were aware that I was going to a wedding and I don't know about you, but most weddings I go to are on Saturday evenings. Well guess what the only availability was for my trip? It was from 4:15PM to 7:30PM on Saturday night. Needless to say, I was f*cking bummed. From my perspective, I can only assume that this business went out of their way to avoid working with me. I initially thought they were an awesome one-of-a-kind business, but after this disappointing interaction, I did some more research and realized these businesses are a dime a dozen and there are literally businesses in my home town that offer this service on a walk in basis at an actual, credible and reliable business that's opened 50+ hours a week. I hope my review helps someone else avoid the same disappointment I felt by getting my hopes up for this birthday surprise and getting strung along for over a month. It also put a bad taste in my mouth about being fully transparent with businesses. Aura Aura was hosting a pop up event in Chicago at the Ace Hotel when I happened to be visiting. I immediately booked a session and when I arrived Eileen and her partner were so kind. They greeted me with a smile and then I entered the dome to have my aura photographed. After my photo had processed, Eileen came over to give me a quick reading of what the colors + placements meant as well as how it is reflecting in my life. She was so spot on, I had been planning to start a business and my aura reading is what inspired the name of my boutique - Haze of Gold! I can't wait to be able to have another session with them! I've gone to a few pop ups now, all very well advertised via email subscription or social media. There's usually an announcement on dates, so we get excited knowing that they're coming, and then a second announcement that booking is available. I usually book a back to back appointment for myself and my partner. Eileen, the owner of Aura Aura, is kind, welcoming and incredibly knowledgable in the field. Even though the appointments windows are short, Eileen takes the time to really sit and read the image with you and explain things and answer questions-- each appoint always feels intimate and personal.
