The iPod Laptop sound system we rented was effective and came with no issues. The customer service from the staff was excellent. Nelson provided a thorough tutorial on how to set up the sound system. He also assisted us with loading/unloading the rental equipment from the store into our vehicle. Thank you Audio Design Rentals. read more

ADR offers customer service that you do not find often these days. I rented a sound and stage system for a New Years party and, as a beginner(me), Stu and Nelson went beyond the norm in explaining all the setup details and listening to my ignorant questions. Stu even gave me his personal cell number to call if I had any issues. (on New Year's Eve mind you) I could go on, but, suffice it to say that I will rent from them again when I have any need for audio equipment. Very well run business. read more

Rented minor amp & mic equipment for a big park party. On a Saturday, I set it up and soon realized, the equipment wasn't compatible w/ the generator power source I was using. After 6 months waiting for a part, I came back 5 times and it was not done on time. Then finally they gave me my equipment, and the instrument was open without being assembled, and I have pictures inside the store, to prove it. They charged me around 100 dlrs. The worst part? The equipment was worst off after I took it to be repaired. And the person who helped, was Mike, He told me that if I knew what the problem was, why I didn't fix it myself... really? Why would I go there if I could fix it myself?!!!!! and he never gave me my money back and told me to never come back! All I wanted was to be treated like a customer, and to have my money back if they never fixed the problem. NEVER GO TO THIS PLACE! It is a scam... and BBB Better Business does not have it registered! Now I wonder why they are closing this place, and relocating to another place... yes, scam. They moved from 6555 El Cajon Blvd. San Diego, CA 92115 to a new location at 4836 Rolando Blvd. San Diego, CA 92115. read more

I can't recommend Audio Design Rentals strongly enough! My rental of audio equipment for a party was seamless. Prices were very reasonable and I was provided with clear instructions. The staff is friendly and very pleasant to deal with. When I called for clarification of a minor point they were quick to pick up and clarify/reassure me. The return process was efficient and smooth. It was nice to be provided with an after hours help number, but I didn't need it. read more

Audio Design Rentals knocked it out of the park! My alumni group rented a battery-powered PA speaker with an integrated mixer and wireless mic for our Rose Bowl tailgate in Pasadena. When I picked up the gear, the staff was super helpful in going over the features and quirks of the unit and helped me out the truck. The unit performed great in the shade, even in the 98 degree weather in Pasadena. Plenty of volume and very simple to use. Definitely come see these guys if you ever need quality gear from a great staff with excellent service! read more

I don't review places where I don't do business. That seems to be a given. However, due to unfortunate events our DJ cancelled a few days before the wedding. I was scrambling and found these guys. Some of the BEST prices on rental equipment I have found while scouring the web and calling stores. They also have a lot of high end equipment for bottom prices. They do a lot of big events, but if you need some gear this is the place it seems. Just passing this along to my fellow high quality/low cost hunters. read more

Incredible value, customer service and expertise.. JJ and team helped me set up and execute an incredible audio and visual design for a hundred plus person holiday party! I rented the best projector available at an incredibly reasonable price... Just shop around a little bit and you will see what I mean. Last year I used one of their competitors and the experience was mediocre at best.. HIGHEST RECOMMENDATION EVER! Book them today for any audio and visual needs!! read more

We recently had an event at Coasterra Restaurant and Audio Design is who we chose to rent the Entertainment equipment from. Josh always responded quickly to my inquiries, was very courteous and professional. Our entertainer came from out-of-state for our function and I had to rent all the Entertainment equipment, I had no idea that I was getting everything that I needed, our entertainer provided a list of items that were needed and Josh confirmed that they can accommodate everything. Then we needed to include a Keyboard and Audio Design/Josh had the exact one that was needed whereas no one else did. The equipment was delivered on time, our Entertainer was present and the Gentleman that was onsite showed him everything, he was professional, polite and courteous as well (unfortunately I can't remember his name). Not to mention, they were on time picking up the equipment also. I was very impressed with the service received; we received extraordinary customer service along with amazing value; they were incredible!!! I will use them again if we have another function! I would recommend them to EVERYONE!!!!! read more

I hired Audio Design Rentals for a Chinese New Year Banquet at Jasmine Seafood Restaurant. Over 550 in attendance with live entertainment, we opted to go with a rental company rather than rely on the house system. The individuals that delivered, set up, and picked up were great, very accommodating and meticulous attention to detail in the set up and explaining the operation of the system. The cost in comparison was extremely fair especially for all that was requested and for a Sunday evening event. I have never used a rental company before, but we will definitely use Audio Design Rental over and again, hands down. Thank you Audio Design Rental. read more

My wife and I held our wedding in San Diego and we needed a PA system with speakers. This was the BEST price in town. And their customer service was INCREDIBLE. We arrived to San Diego late and there was bad traffic. I called and spoke with someone (I'm sorry - I cannot remember his name) and told him the situation. We needed the system because our wedding was early the next morning. He was very understanding. He said he had a gig to get to but could meet me later that night at 8 or 9pm. I thanked him profusely and we set up a time for me to come get the system. I gave him a tip for his troubles. He was so helpful and hooked us up with some really nice equipment. We had a live singer and guitar at our wedding and this sound system was crucial to making our day as special as it was. The day turned out beautifully and Audio Design helped diminish the stress and worry! read more

I've used Audio Design frequently for the past almost 10 years renting everything from speakers to lighting and have always been beyond satisfied with not only the quality of their products, but the quality of their service. In addition to rentals, I've had certain DJ items of my own repaired there and their repair department is just as exceptional as their rental department. Owning a growing DJ company sometimes puts you into positions where you have a larger workload than expected, and Audio Design is always available when I need to rent some extra gear. It's the only call I make when I need to rent equipment for any event, and I recommend them to all of my other industry friends as well as anyone who is in need of anything sound or lighting. read more

I was at the 94.9 Independence Jam last night and I just wanted to say that Jeff on the Red Bull venue did an excellent job. He ran the boards for I believe all the concerts on that side. I watched Joywave and Bad Suns and everything was right on target. I also liked how Jeff got the people who were waiting ready for the next band to play. He played appropriated songs that engaged the people. He kept the wait fun, interactive and interesting. I cannot however say the same for the main stage... J Roddy Walston and The Business -the sound was off and there was a lot of feed back with the mics. I like the band so I was okay with the performance. Maybe someone should l have pulled back the speakers or gave suggestions for lead singer- J Roddy Walston where to rock out to and where not to. Also, I found the music from the main stage before Phantogram to be very obscene and very insensitive to women. I am a lover of all kinds of music- however there is a specific place and time for certain songs. This was a alternative rock/rock concert and the music that was played during the last set change and preparation for Phantogram was very disappointing. So for me this is where the fifth star was lost. They were children and elderly at this concert and the lyrics in the music were not appropriate. Perhaps music played by 94.9 radio station could have been played for the eagerly awaited fans such as myself, it mostly likely would been easier and safer choice of route. ***However the show for Phantogram was right on key Music, Lights, and Sound. So Kudos to the technicians for the that show. She was loud, clear, and no much feedback at all. So thank you AD.*** read more

Sometimes you truly don't get a feel for just how good a company is until something goes wrong. Everything is easy when things are done normally, but how a company takes care of you when something doesn't is what shines for me. Long story short, I'm a big fan of the level of customer service provided thus far. Kudos to Stuart, JJ, and the rest of the crew at Audio Design Rentals. I will be regularly using these guys for all of my larger DJ gigs where I need to augment. read more

My husband and I rented some stuff here for our wedding (microphones, speakers, etc.). They were very helpful, as we didn't know what we were doing. They were as flexible as possible with the dates that we rented and returned equipment, and they talked us down from renting things we didn't really need. Many businesses would rent it to you anyway because, hey, it's your money, and if you want to waste it, that's not their problem! Not this place. They cared more about giving us what we genuinely needed than making a tad more money off of us. My husband was insistent that I write a review for them, since our experience was so efficient. Good businesspeople, we say! read more
