I recently made a switch to Dr. Zamora after my long-time Family Practice physician retired. I wasn't happy with who bought his practice so I started looking. Dr. Zamora does accept a wide range of health insurances. Of course, you need to call first and see if he accepts yours. I am not old enough to be on Medicare but I think he accepts it as well. The first time I came into see Dr. Zamora was for a physical. He did a very good job asking about my family history across many disease states. He covered it from head to toe. I was very pleased with him and the time he took to get to know my history. The second time I went to this office was because I was sick. Dr. Zamora has two PA's that help with his patient load. When I am sick, I just want to be seen. I really don't care if it is by him or by his Physician Assistant. I don't want to wait two days for an opening when I wake up sick. I want to be seen as soon as possible. That is what they did when I called early on a weekday. I told them I was sick and really needed to get in to see him or one of the PA's. Boom! I got in on the same day I called. As a matter of fact, it was within three hours of my phone call. As it turned out, it was a bacterial infection and I did need an antibiotic. I was pleased with the treatment I received. Bottom Line: Dr. Zamora is friendly and has good bedside manor. My personal experience has been very good when I am sick and need to be seen ASAP. I'm writing this review based on my experience dealing with their staff, over the phone. Around the beginning of July, I was extrememly sick and I shouldn't have even come to work. ...by 8:30am, I was on the phone trying to find a doctor. A co-worker had referred me to Doctor Hansen. When I called, the girl was quick to say they wouldn't take a first time patient for 3 weeks. I then said I was referre. They asked by whom and then put me on hold to verify the person. Then they got back on the line and said they could get me in at 2. I went ahead and booked the 2pm. Because I felt like I was nearing my death bed, I called around to more places, trying to find an earlier time. I reached another office that could get me in at 9:30, so I took that appointment. I called Dr Hansen's office to cancel and the line was busy. I called several times and still... busy. (I can't believe that after the fact, I looked at more reviews. (it was because I was sick and it was last minute. ...I would have gone anywhere at that point) I've read more reviews at other sites with others that say they have had experienced their busy lines) ...so I went to my 9:30am appointment (at the other place). When I got out, I called Dr. Hansen's again and still...busy. So I gave up. I was sick and just wanted to get medicated and in bed. She put me on hold. ...for 3 minutes ...to come back and say, rudely, we've marked your name in our system as denied. You were a no-show and now the doctor refuses to see you. My jaw dropped! I was like... excuse me!? ...just like that.?! I explained what had happened that day...and she said.. it was the doctor that noted your record....so it won't be changed. I told her, so if anyone misses their appointment, this is how they are treated? ...even though it was because your phone lines that I couldn't get through. I'm just glad I didn't go...especially if that is how they treat people. After reading reviews, it seems like either the doctor's have no clue that their staff is treating patients terribly, or they have poor management. ...and in my experiences, all fingers usually point to the management. I waited for around twenty minutes (not bad compared to other Doctors) to be called back. Once in the room a nurse took the typical vitals and asked a few questions about my health. Around ten minutes later Dr. Hansen arrived to examine me. She was very friendly, thorough, and listened to what I had to tell her. I plan on keeping Dr. Hansen as my family physician.
