We are frequent travelers, we have stayed at many resorts and Hotels, there was not one time that we had to take out trash upon check out, plus, there was housekeeping service at least 1-2 times if not everyday; What bothers us the most is the letter was given to us upon Check in, it threaten us that we could be charged ADDITIONAL FEE of $ 125.00 if we don't take out trash and started dishwashing machine upon check out, it DID NOT make us feel good.

Our time in this B&B was definitely the highlight of our trip in Vancouver. Ann Spence, our B&B host, was so awesome!!! She was very helpful and friendly from the beginning even before we met her! Not many B&B accepts the gift cards, but Ann did! Not many B&B accepts babies, but Ann did, at NO CHARGE! The B&B is located in Easy Street, and just like the name of the street, it was quite easy to find the place from the main street. From outside the place was just like an ordinary home, however, as soon as you walk in, you will feel so at home. Not only because Ann welcomed us with her sweetest smile, but also because her house offered warmth and charms that I've never felt before in other B&Bs. Because it's a little cold when we arrived, Ann quickly made some British style tea with some yummy Maple Cream Cookies. She also puts out some sherry in the living room and snacks all over the house so we can just eat them whenever we feel like it. Golden Dreams B&B is very nicely decorated with many things from around the world. The Living Room is a blend of American-Victorian style. Her kitchen is newly decorated with Elmira Stoveworks country. All of the rooms are very well decorated with its own theme: Rainforest, Black Bear and Wild West. We stayed in the Black Bear Room because it's the biggest room they have so our daughter crib fits perfectly there. A little side note for this room is that you have to share the bathroom with another room (Rainforest). However, if you happen to be the only guest there like we did, then you get the whole bathroom and the house to yourself. The bathroom comes with a hot tub as well. She also has an outside hot tub that we could use any time too :p Ann also likes gardening so she puts a lot of fresh flowers all over the house. She also makes her own jam and bread that she always serves for the breakfast time. Did I mention breakfast? Ann's breakfast is to die for! She makes almost everything from scratch. Her jam is organically homemade and so is her whole wheat bread. Ann was so sweet, she played with our baby during breakfast so that we can enjoy our breakfast even more. Since we only stay there for 1 night, she gave us choices for breakfast. We chose Golden Dreams Eggs with smoked salmon. Everything was just so perfect that we had to eat every little bit of it. Sam, her dogs, was so jealous that we didn't leave him any crumbs :p I HIGHLY recommend this B&B! We wished we could stay there longer, but the one night we stayed was a truly GOLDEN DREAM!

It's a quick walk down to Whistler Village and was very easy to walk down to Spicy Sports in Blackcomb to get our rental equipment. The main areas of the building are in dire need of renovation. First impressions are not great. The lifts are dead slow and you can expect a five minute wait at peak times. Parking is plentiful in the underground parking garage at $17/day. The rules in the main areas are a bit strange as the resort has a "strict" no skis/boards in the condos, yet their ski valet does not accept poles or ski boots. I see absolutely no point in disallowing skis when similar property damage can be made with poles and people stomping around in ski boots. The outdated main areas and stupid ski valet that only accepts one-third of the necessary kit is a one-star deduction. We rented our condo from a private owner off Airbnb. Our unit was recently renovated with newly kitted bathroom and kitchen. We were lucky in that it was a corner unit and we heard no noise except for the ski boots clonking down the hallway in the morning and early evening if we happened to be around - even that noise was not too bothersome. There is no question on if we would rent from the owning couple again - for sure! Although our unit is within the same building as the resort-operated condos, we did not get daily maid service which was a-ok. If you are considering this property, it is absolutely vital that you understand who you are renting from to ensure you get the unit you expect. If the operating company is ResortQuest, you will likely end up with a room that was last updated in the early 1980's. It is my recommendation to turn to VRBO and Airbnb so that you can see photos of specific units versus a mix of photos from outdated and updated condos on various booking sites.

I've had plenty of bad experiences in my life, but let me tell you about the infamous Stoney Creek Northstar... If your experience is anything like mine, you can expect: False advertising - the number of bedrooms they advertise for their lodges, and the number of beds the lodges have, are exaggerated. They even admitted this when we addressed it, but they attributed it to "a third party site" and claimed they weren't responsible. After my experience, I'm also convinced they fake the positive reviews on this site to boost their ranking and also don't hesitate to stroke their own ego in the process. Charges for unfair fees - I was peacefully watching Netflix in the room when a picture fell off the wall. Not thinking much of it, I called the front desk to let them know, so they could fix it. Rather than apologizing for the inconvenience, or giving me a credit for the trouble, they charge meeee a hundred something on the bill-- as if that inconvenience was my fault. Thinking a mistake must have been made, I called them to correct it, and they just doubled down on it and said I was lying and the pic fell because of me. Like, what? Just bad business practice right and left. Dangerous and not up to code - there are several things to be said here. For example, the fire alarm that went off nearly every day of our stay due to poor wiring also presents a fire hazard in itself. Not only because poor wiring can short out and start a fire, but if that happened the fire alarm likely wouldn't even go off. Risky combination! Hygiene - this place was DISGUSTING. It smelled like Menthol cigarettes... the counters weren't wiped. There were piss stains on the bed sheets, and.......crusty white stains on the love seat... Need I go on?

The "apartment" we rented was #314 On the third floor, and it had a washer, dryer, a kitchen with microwave, tea pot, coffee pot, dishwasher, full sized fridge and freezer. The kitchen had some pots and pans, skillets, and the very BASIC necessities for making your own meals. It was a two bedroom, two bath with two person pull out couch...meaning it could accommodate up to 6 adults. The fireplace was gas, and there was a small flat screen tv as well. The one bedroom had two twin beds, the main had a Queen sized bed. Both were comfortable, and clean. I loved that the place was close enough to walk everywhere...even when it was raining. Easy access to a locker area for skis as well. All-in-all it was a nice place. So what WOULD have made this a five star stay? 1. Make more of an effort in the kitchen to make it cook/chef friendly. All the knives were super dull (which equals a higher chance of cutting yourself) PLEASE put a knife sharpener in the house...please. Spatulas, whisk, slotted spoons etc...you need just a few more of each. (I also fixed one of your skillets that the handle was coming off of. Tightened a screw, no big deal, but basic kitchen maintenance is what your property manager SHOULD be doing to help you the owner and me the renter out). 2. Tupperware for leftovers was nonexistent. I found one with a lid...that was it. Just one container. Which makes leftovers a nightmare to try and store. 3. I completely understand not wanting super expensive items in your rental because people today are complete a-holes. But I'm truly hoping that the owner will put more effort into bringing the place up a notch for the renters, especially those of us who take care of a place- 4. Large coffee cups. The ones currently in the house are 4oz cups? Dude lovers want a good cup of coffee...not a tea time cup of coffee you'd find in a kid's play set. I requested to book with 5 of my close girlfriends for a weekend to go up and spend a relaxing girls trip away for my birthday as we all enjoy hiking and being outdoors. Jocelyn messaged me asking what our reason for travel was as well as what our age group was. I responded saying it was for my 30th birthday we wanted a relaxing getaway to hike and enjoy the beautiful place, and that we were all in our 30s. She immediately rejected my request and said they've had horrible experiences with birthday parties and good luck finding something else. I feel like this was unfair to reject our group due to assumptions and because we were celebrating my birthday. I messaged her back respectfully trying to explain we were a responsible group of women in our 30s going to hike, relax and spend quality time enjoying each others company. Yet no response, just a rejection for our request to stay. My friends and I have great reviews on Airbnb for guests, we are all working professionals and we usually leave airbnbs cleaner than we find them. I'm very frustrated with my experience with trying to book Jocelyn and Gus' place especially after reading all the great reviews. They didn't even give us a chance to stay there for no good reason..
