After wandering around town for a while, we saw this restaurant off a side street and were impressed by the menu. They opened a bit later than other restaurants in the town (7:30pm, so not unusual for France), and arriving a few minutes after opening we were able to get a table easily. By about 8:30 it had filled up though, and people were turned away.
The food here was amazing - everything was really quite good. What stood out, though, was an amazing starter, which was a avocado pureee with a tomato-basil sorbet. The sorbet was amazing - it was like having pizza ice cream, which does not sound good, but was really terrific.
The atmosphere was nice, and if ever in Le Puy-en-Velay I would recommend eating here again.
Prices were not unreasonable - for three people we spent a total of 100 Euros, including starters, main dishes, and dessert.
